crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
For three main reasons:

1. Dad was upset about his truck needing another repair (I think it's the fan belt), which made things tense for the rest of us (when he's grumpy, EVERYONE'S grumpy)

2. It was a cleaning Saturday, so naturally I had to spend a good chunk of my day dusting and swiffering and vacuuming, as you do

3. When I went to go play Fallout 4, I couldn't connect to the Steam servers. Which baffled me, as my internet appeared to be working fine. . .some poking suggested they were having an outage on their end, which is -- well, frustrating. And at the time, I didn't think to try opening the game without opening Steam. . .though I'm pretty sure I can't? Ugh. . .either way, no Wasteland today. I wanted to get that kidnapping mission sorted so I can get on the way to Diamond City, darn it.

So yeah, all that kind of affected my mood a bit. Buuut, fortunately, we had some very nice stuff happen today too to keep it from getting dragged down in doom and gloom:

-->Got in a solid walk at a non-buggy time of day, which also resulted in me refreshing my gum supply, yay

-->Watched a bunch of good videos, including:

A) Two riddle videos from Gloom and Laurenzsides (one on each channel), which were a lot of fun (I love people trying to solve and snarking over 7-Second Riddles, it's great)

B) Two OXBox/OXTra lists -- one about creative ending credits (showcasing the songs from both Portal games, and Bayonetta's dance sequence interspersed with actual fights -- strangely enough, though, no Nier Automata! Maybe in the commenter's version); one about bosses who looked relatively harmless, then got an upgrade (like The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine having a high vampire who eventually turns into a Lovecraftian bat thing, or Resident Evil 7's Eveline having a very grody mega mold monster final form)

C) The hour-long playthrough of the Dalton Dissection escalation in Hitman 2! :D Mike, Jane, and Andy taking on the New York bank level again, this time with some pretty strict stipulations. You know a level's gonna be good when it forces you to wear the very obvious bunny bank robber costume right from the start, with no changes, no starting items, and you have to kill your target via electrocution. And things just get harder from there. . . It was a delight to watch the ladder of chaos build, especially when it came to the gang getting through a particular locked door to the electrocution target. They got it down to a pretty finely-tuned system by the end, though! . . .Well, I say that, Andy (who had the final level) still left a giant pile of unconscious bodies behind him. XD (Not his fault -- he couldn't kill them without failing, and he was in a rush to leave, darn it!) Unfortunately couldn't watch the other one, as it was a bit TOO long (hour and a half, due to it being a stream), but it's definitely on the docket for tomorrow. :D

-->Since I couldn't do Fallout 4, I decided, okay, screw it, time to back up my saves and get Realm of Magic for Sims 4! Bought and downloaded, and then went into one of my old saves (the one I did before Newcrest Adventures) and tried out one of the new Glimmerbrook families to get a feel for the game and see if it was going to explode. It did not, and it gave me a good look at some of the new magical stuff! Casting magic is very cool-looking, as is dueling. . .and if the Magic HQ lot isn't particularly impressive, the rest of the world -- ooooh man. There are SO MANY GOOD DETAILS! Which -- honestly, still makes me think that the Sims people are focusing too much on the surrounding landscape than the actual lots Sims live on, but I can't fault the results. Looking forward to taking a proper dive in in Newcrest and making Emmett and Nikal Spellcasters! (Yes, they're already scientists, but if you remember anything about my Sims 2 days and my abiding love for EMMETT BROWN, TECHNO-WIZARD. . .oooooh, though, what happens if you cast Repairio on a tainted serum? Does it make it good?) Got some mod videos to watch first tomorrow, though -- I want to make sure my game is in the proper condition before I start playing for "real!"

-->Got Chapter 88 of "Scenes From Secundus" posted! :D Though, sadly, it doesn't actually feature any of the BTTF characters. Though it does feature an approaching thunderstorm, if that helps? And a dandelion. . .and some musings about the odds of finding a spot where you can thrive, and how few seeds really get the chance. Again, it's been pretty much rewritten in its entirety to make it better, but I still like the sentiment behind it. It's something Victor thinks about a lot, I'm sure.

-->Had a cupcake and some of Mom's chocolate chip cookies -- little thing, but hey. Who doesn't like either of those?

And now I'm doing a bit of the RP thing, as one does. Tomorrow is football day -- Mom's promising chicken wings and potato skins, which I'm all for. :) Gonna see how much of my Watch Later queue I can get through, and maybe see if I can sneak both Fallout 4 and Sims 4 into the same day. Might be tricky, but -- well, it would be nice to properly play BOTH games this weekend. *shrug* We'll see what happens. For now, g'night!
