crossover_chick: a vampire version of Alice Liddell and a human Victor Van Dort kissing (SIMS: Vamp!Alice and Victor Smooches)
Most of my day was spent either playing the game or watching Sim-related videos. To whit:

-->Tackled the final day of Emmett and Nikal's portion of the update, with good old Harvestfest! They had their two sage friends around for dinner, practiced magic, appeased the gnomes, the works. XD So all that was a lot of fun. And Nikal's learned a new spell -- Scruberoo, for making things (and people) squeaky-clean! I am glad to have more magic in their lives. :p Now I just have to get the pictures ready for Wednesday. (tumblr is still apparently working on the caption bug, so I guess I don't have to worry about those for another week. . .)

-->Watched the Red Plumbob's video on all the spells across the Sims series -- 1 straight through 4! It was kind of fun, seeing all the familiar spells from 1 and 2, and seeing what I missed in 3. Though I'm getting major Makin' Magic nostalgia vibes now. That was such a good pack, seriously. I like Realm of Magic, but I so wish the titular realm was bigger! Worlds being only a handful of lots these days can get a mite depressing.

-->Watched Carl's Sim Guides do a video on some of his favorite gameplay objects -- stuff like the streaming drone, the bee box, Patchy the Scarecrow, etc. Stuff that doesn't necessarily tie into a skill or job, but offers new opportunities for your Sim (like how livestreaming can increase fame, and the bee box give you honey and a swarm of bees you can command). Interesting stuff, makes me want more hobbies for Sims.

-->Watched a short mod showcase from onlyabidoang -- a hair physics mod! Makes the Maxis hair actually move like real hair! :D Only a certain number of hairstyles are actually affected, but it is nice to see the ponytails and such ACTUALLY SWING AROUND. *to herself* After the newest EP, Vic. . .

-->Watched a couple of videos from Plumbella:

A) Another part of her Sims 2 adventures, this one focusing on Nightlife! Her SimSelf and Bella moved Downtown, checked out one of the spooky houses down there, and got into shenanigans -- their dog got into a fight with another, smaller dog, Tucker, and lost. Twice. And SimJessie tried to skip out on the bill at a restaurant, and got turned into a vampire by one of the countesses. XD So that was all very fun. XD I like San MyShuno from City Living, but seeing ALL THE PLACES one could go Downtown in Sims 2. . . *sigh* At least vampires are much better than they were in the past!

B) Plumbella deciding to mess around with her friend LilSimsie's save file -- replacing some of her carefully-created houses with Maxis clones; changing wall heights and adding windows for no reason to other builds; and forcing Simsie's Simself to become a vampire and a GANG LEADER (through the dark medium of mods). SimKayla ended up shooting a LOT of people. XD It was pretty hilarious. XD

-->The perfect follow-up to the above? Another GrayStillPlays Sims 4 video! This one was all about getting Sims to die of heat -- set in a mansion in the midst of a heatwave, with the thermostat turned aaaaall the way up, filled with saunas and hot tubs. Took the Sims a while to stop dropping, but once they did. . .our winner this time was Australian Man, not Florida Man like Gray was hoping. Ah well, buddy -- you win some, you lose some!

-->And finally, two videos from James Turner:

A) Another Gallery Builds video, which was magical-themed -- featuring a fortune teller's caravan stop (very cutely done); a base-game-only "magical village" (in which one of the residents has a secret murder basement); the castle from Beauty and the Beast (outside only, though the inside was quite nice as well!); a magical castle on a hill, where all the most magical stuff takes place in the secret basement (featuring an EXCELLENT blending of StrangerVille and Realm of Magic items); and another replacement Magic HQ that is styled as a gorgeous magical school (even has floating crystal rocks! And classrooms! And dorms!). I am, as usual, blown away by the level of skill, effort, and love that goes into these builds. It's, frankly, amazing.

B) A sponsored video from EA in which James goes back to the very first expansion pack, and plays through all of the careers for a day! . . .for the purpose of stealing items from the lot, and then selling them in a retail store. XD It was a pretty fun little one-shot from the parallel universe where Lady Bigwallet was a kleptomaniac instead of the owner of an art gallery. XD Though it was kind of depressing to look at the first day on the job for the Detective career, and think of how fun it all seems, and compare it to my own experience, where it's one of the most repetitive jobs I've ever played. . . Meh. To be saved for the Sims rant I may or may not do at some point in the future. :p

Really, I think the only Non-Sims stuff I did was eat lunch and dinner, and go back to editing "Secundus 2" -- yup, have officially ended my hiatus on that! If I want to get the first chapter up by Christmas, I gotta make progress now. Goal is to alternate between that and "Londerland Bloodlines" until I get the whole fic up, with breaks taken for birthday and Christmas gift fics and the like. Dunno how long it's gonna take me, but I am very confident I can start updating this holiday season, and maybe even stay on a steady schedule for a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed!

Right now, though -- gotta get to bed. Full week of work coming up! ...And then another three-day weekend because Veteran's Day. XD So, still have something to look forward to, yay~ Night all!
