Happy Birth Of The Flux Capacitor Day!
Nov. 5th, 2019 10:04 pmAlso happy Guy Fawkes, and -- er, acknowledgement of the Liddell Fire day. Still find it kind of weird that this date is important in two of my fandoms, for vastly different reasons. (Though Marty probably thinks starting to accidentally erase yourself from existence is pretty awful -- not as bad as losing your entire family to an arsonist and rapist, but still.)
Aaaanyway, it was an unfortunately rather stressful day at the office -- tried getting into the maintenance project we were supposed to be starting, only to learn that the file I was working on wasn't one I needed to mess with (our interim director is trying to get us just updates, instead of having to comb through whole rosters). And then I had a twenty-minute phone call JUST as I was about to go on lunch from someone trying to figure out what went wrong with her online payment, and proofs to review, and gifts to look up, and -- *sigh* It was -- not fun. At least it wasn't pouring when we left work. . .a bit late. . . *deep sigh* I really hope this isn't going to be one of those "put us through the wringer so we APPRECIATE our three-day weekend" weeks. I hate those.
Evening WAS going to be pretty low-key as a result, but then -- I'm honestly not sure what happened, but my computer suddenly started running like ass, and I actually had to RESTART to basically reset everything. *presses face into hand* This is what I get for thinking I had some time tonight to listen to some music, because OBVIOUSLY I could catch up on my queue before I had to go to bed. Not like Firefox would mysteriously STOP WORKING right as I was trying to queue the last part of my Victor Luvs Alice Newcrest Adventure update, and the rest of my applications slow down. . .
Anyway. What I DID get accomplished tonight:
-->Did some more editing on "Secundus 2" -- cleaning up the first chapter some more, yay~ Progress is going well on that, should have it done well in time for my Christmas deadline. I may even have a buffer! Would be nice to have at least a few chapters I can put up one right after the other.
-->Watched James start his new official LP of Planet Zoo -- he's designing his first zoo, which involves a lot of careful messing around with paths and suchlike. It's coming along, though -- he has two exhibits, a pair of timber wolves and a komodo dragon. Which he came VERY close to accidentally letting escape and savage guests, but fortunately he came to his senses in time to increase the size of the fence. XD Zoo is not making a lot of money yet, but we'll see how future episodes go! Apparently Part 2 is already recorded. . .
-->Watched a couple of short videos on dragons (myths around the world, and how they might have come about with the help of an innate fear of snakes, fossils, and possibly even politics; and the most plausible biological dragon design -- turns out it's a small wyvern (two wings, two legs)) that were tagged for me on tumblr, so that was nice.
-->And I'm currently catching up on my Valice Multiverse queue -- gonna have to table finishing up the last post of my Newcrest Adventures to tomorrow morning. At least I got a screenshot of the text. . .it really had to stop acting like I had an internet connection JUST as I went to post the damn thing. . .
All right. Time to get the stuff in my inbox sorted, then go to bed. Fucking Tuesdays. . . Yeah, definitely Liddell Fire day, not Flux Capacitor day. Night all.
