crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)
Yeah, it was a personal snow day! What do I mean by that? I mean I woke up at normal time, saw that it was very snowy out, went to say "good morning" to my parents, and learned that my work had only a half-hour delay.

And never budged from that. Despite the fact that it was still snowing this morning and most schools and other businesses had at least an hour delay, if they hadn't closed entirely.

Now, I still might have been able to work with that -- maybe come in a little later than the new start time -- if not for two OTHER factors:

A) My street did not end up actually plowed until about NOON. And even then it was a shitty pass -- it was past one by the time it was adequately plowed.

B) I technically live near the bottom of a hill. At any rate, every road to the main drag goes UP. And if those aren't properly plowed. . .

Long story short, despite probably having the shortest regular commute among my coworkers, I ended up having to take a personal day because I couldn't actually get to the main drag, and thus to work. *sigh* Everyone was very understanding, at least (though I did have to spend some time on the phone with the coworker who DID make it in thanks to some GL issues. . .seems like I might have accidentally skipped a step with one bit when I did it Monday, and that threw her off. *facepalm*), and the roads are clear now, so I can come in tomorrow. Just can't help a little freeform guilt. . .plus annoyance at my work. Half-hour delay, seriously??

Well, anyway, turned out to be a pretty nice day off once we got past that bit -- spent most of it catching up on videos, natch:

-->An OXBox list of commenter-suggested More Horrible Weapons/Powers We Are Monsters For Using (including getting magical rat swarms to eat your enemies, plus the power of the Wabbajack, which can make a combatant a sweet roll)

-->Two riddle videos from Gloom and her friend Azzy -- the usual ridiculous logic puzzles and survival situations laced with supernatural nonsense :p

-->Three Call Me Kevin videos -- Bitlife, where Kevin had both a truly awful life as "Hair Dryer Call Me" (engaged as a pre-teen, dead of epilepsy at 16), and a semi-decent one as "Washin' Machine Call Me" (had three children with his girlfriend until she broke up with him for having a small penis YES THAT'S WHAT IT SAID -- then had a successful career as a dance instructor until he was ousted for inappropriate activities at work. Eventually died from diabeetus); looking at his own subreddit, full of various goofy Kevin memes and some rather good cosplay of Jim Pickens (XD); and Farmer's Dynasty, where Kevin turned into a new farmer who is regularly deafened by the background music and tries to get with his friendly neighbor's wife. XD

-->And four Gray Still Plays videos -- two about a game called Negative Nancy, where you can only either stay silent or say "No" to anything presented to you -- would you believe this can lead to you getting gunned down by the police? Or framing your boss for the murder of the mayor?! The other two were Get A Job, where Gray tried to pick the worst answers possible in a game about getting a job interview (he succeeded ADMIRABLY, where he managed to insult the boss character multiple times), and Death and Taxes, a demo of a game about being the Grim Reaper and showing what effects your choices of who lives and dies have upon the world (Gray naturally went for complete chaos XD).

So that was all good stuff. :D Also good:

-->Playing some more Sims 4! Sent the gang out for Winterfest in Sulani, as I had promised myself. . .after some initial dithering regarding whether or not I should do another lot swap between them and the McFlys, as they have the larger lot, and I'm thinking the family with two kids should probably get the greater yard space. I eventually decided "I will figure out how to do that at another time" and instead indulged in some early Christmas feels on the beach. :) It was a very nice day out, and I look forward to sharing it in a Newcrest Adventures update. :p

-->Speaking of which, got those posts sorted this morning, so my queue for VLA is all set for tomorrow -- and the Valice Multiverse was super quiet today, so that one's all set too. So that's good.

-->Getting some more edited on "Secundus 2" -- the gang has finally left the train station and been confronted with Hill Valley! They are -- not impressed. XD To be fair, they were expecting at least something with paved roads, sooo. . . XD

-->And I've answered all the comments in my inbox, plus a PM I was not notified about, get back on your game, FF.net. *sigh*

So yeah, pretty productive day off, all things considered. But it's back to the normal grind tomorrow, so I'd better get myself to bed. Night all!
