Drizzly Thursday
Feb. 6th, 2020 11:12 pmJUST drizzly, though -- the predicted snow that was supposed to come with the rain went north of us, so it was an ordinary, if rather wet, morning. Ah well -- delay would have been nice, but I appreciate not having to deal with icy or snowy streets. And I got to wear my rain boots with the umbrellas on them, so that was nice in its own way~
Work was okay again -- more calls about mailings that hopefully should be resolved by next week. I spent most of my day chipping away at the roster maintenance and doing some reversals. Nothing too exciting -- which is really good, after the beginning of the week. Hopefully the streak continues and Friday is all right. Just let me have a decent lead-in to my weekend plz
Anyway, things I accomplished this evening:
-->Another page of edits on "Secundus 2" -- we've been introduced to William's wife, who tried to coddle pregnant Alice and promptly got told off for it. Now everyone's talking babies and how much husbands worry. :p Slow but steady progress!
-->Time for another CallMeKevin marathon! Got a bunch of his (and Gray's) videos in my Watch Later, so I figured I'd whittle a few of them down:
A) Kevin watches Irish news! . . .No, seriously, he found news stories from Ireland and presented them for our amusement. Many of them centered around sheep, goats, people freaking out over an inch of snow, and incomprehensible accents. (I am allowed to say that because KEVIN couldn't understand some of them! Note to self, be prepared to listen very closely if you visit Kerry in Ireland for any reason.)
B) Kevin plays more of the PS2 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone! It centered around death mazes (in which Harry fell down a number of pits, had to scare ghosts off with Lumos, and had to cage some sort of little monster, and got a damn C for his efforts), Harry exploiting game glitches to get wizard cards, and that one damn "fly through the rings" puzzle that was in every game in that general era by law.
C) Kevin plays a bunch of crappy mobile Red Dead Redemption knock-offs! They largely centered around being glitchy to the point of not even working in a few instances. XD There was an early bit of awesomeness with a game that lets your cowboy buy and use a sword (completely proper Wild West gear, don't you know?), but the best one was definitely Red Dead Reloaded, where the main character looks like the G-Man from Half-Life taking a vacation to the Old West under the name "Frank Miller." Also, it features glitches that let you and your horse fly. What's not to love?
D) Kevin plays more Bitlife! It centered around crushing his character's dreams of becoming an actor. I mean, there's really no other path for you when you are called "Oscar Nominee" -- except when the game has you adopted out because you're so ugly your own biological mother can't look at you! XD It took a LOT of surgery to get him actor ready, and even then he couldn't make the grade! Though, I guess Oscar's poor taste in men didn't help matters -- the guy nearly married Jim Pickens after all. (Yes, he is apparently in Bitlife now -- Kevin did an episode playing him, and it looks like the game recycles names. Kevin himself was a classmate of Oscar's!) Props for trying, though -- it took dying at 94 to stop him pursuing his dream. :p
-->Finished up my Valice Multiverse queue -- mostly asks again, which is all right. Enjoyed some adventures in the vtmb tag while I was on that account too -- people really put some awesome thought into their OCs, I gotta say. :)
And now it's time to answer comments and get into bed to prepare for another day. At least we're almost at the weekend. . .admittedly, it's a cleaning Saturday, but what can you do. Gotta clean sometime! Supposed to be cold too, but I might just use that as an excuse to have some more hot chocolate and a marshmallow dunker. :p Night all!
