crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
And you know a week might have it out for you when you start it off with a coworker out sick (she was dizzy this morning getting up to let her dogs out; didn't want to risk coming in) and a GL full of online stuff. I got through the day okay -- the GL at least ate up most of the morning, and then I cleared out another bundle of exceptions and some checks in the afternoon), but I do hope she's back tomorrow. I kinda need my coworkers to be okay and not sick? For multiple reasons?

At any rate, I made it through the day, and I did decently well on my Standardized Weekday Evening To-Do List:

1. Get in a workout: Check! Got on the treadmill today, which meant a good long session with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! I rejoined Grills shooting ghouls in the Sentinel Site – only one Legendary in the lot, and him with some pretty lousy gear, sadly. Grills cleared everybody out, then ran into Brother Henri of the Children of Atom, who denied him access to the nukes on the basis that they were “holy relics.” Grills, despite not being able to use his red dress, charmed Henri into allowing him access by telling him that the bombs would get used, and got himself some nukes for the Brotherhood to collect! With that sorted, he killed a few ghouls outside the site, then did his usual “teleport into Institute, out to CIT Ruins, hike back home” routine to check out the two good bits of kit he’d picked up – a Powered Synth Chest Piece (very sturdy, bit heavy but putting deep pockets on it helped balance that out) and a Two-Shot .44 Pistol (already has some awesome base damage, but Grills lacked the levels in Gun Nut to really get it going).

With those examined, we moved into Episode 39, where Grills headed in the opposite direction of his previous adventures, planning to move north and west up the coast. He called in a vertibird to hit the Four-Leaf Fishpacking Plant and clear a bunch of ghouls out of it so the Railroad could use it as a safehouse. After that (and a quick detour to investigate a nice outdoor eating patio sorta place), he hit the Railroad itself, getting a new “Jackpot” mission from PAM (DIA cache in Malden Medical) and turning in some quest stuff to Desdemona (getting the instructions to encourage their synth on the inside to prepare for revolt if they want freedom, and to cut “Patriot” loose as a potential liability – uh, yeah, not gonna happen in this playthrough, Des). With a few more experience points under the belt, Grills then went over to Brotherhood HQ to turn in “Liberty Reprimed,” getting the honor of pushing the button to power up Liberty Prime Mk II and hear him go on about repelling “Red Chinese invaders.” :p And then it was up to the Prydwen to start “Blind Betrayal,” aka the quest that reveals Paladin Danse is a synth! Which, to my surprise, Jon already knew – turns out a previous character (I assume Bacon of “No Guns”) had to kill him after betraying the Brotherhood, and Jon found the synth component on his corpse. He was, of course, intrigued by the actual quest though, and kept wondering if Danse was actually a synth at this point (I don’t think he quite gets that Danse is intended to have ALWAYS been a synth, albeit an unknowing one, though he has talked about the possibility in his rambles). I’m up to him reporting to Quinlan to figure out where to go from here and Haylen interrupting – we’ll see what happens when Grills goes to complete the quest!

2. Stay current on YouTube Subscriptions: 75% check – I had four videos to watch, and I got through three –

A) Call Me Kevin contained:

1. The Chaos Mod in a NEW Grand Theft Auto game – specifically, GTA: San Andreas! And trust me, it’s just as chaotic as the one for GTA V – possibly MORE so. Kevin’s attempts to get pizza and chicken with his friends ended with him teleported to the middle of the desert, gaining ten tons of weight, having cars that float away when bumped, and quadruple gravity. Also getting stuck in a road once thanks to low gravity and glitchiness. XD He only passed a couple of missions because getting a “mission passed” is one of the things that can happen during the chaos mod – but weirdly enough, he completed everyone’s most-hated mission, “Wrong Side Of The Tracks” (where you have to follow a train to kill the gang members atop it), perfectly. And that was with having reset the mod to fire every TEN seconds. O.o I guess the mod looked at that mission and went, “Yeah, can’t screw that one up any more.”

2. Then back to GTA V, but with a twist on the Chaos Mod, this time – apparently there’s a version that you can link to a Twitch Chat, to have THEM pick the effect that you get every time. . . Think “Twitch Plays Pokemon,” only even MORE chaos. And trust me, it got chaotic – Michael trying to get back his stolen boat was plagued right from the start by killer clowns. We also got multiple doomsdays, explosive zombies, INVISIBLE explosive zombies, and a variety of Griefer Jesuses. Oh, and teleports. The chat never met a teleport they didn’t like! There was also a moped chase with Michael’s son Jimmy, Griefer Jesus, and an angry alien. And this isn’t even getting into Michael’s wife Amanda being savaged by an alien during yoga, or spinning pedestrians during a pretty epic heist, or 20% game speed while Michael played golf. XD They ended up BREAKING THE MOD with all the lunacy. I love it, and I hope there’s a sequel.

B) After all that, I only had time for one GrayStillPlays, sadly – but hey, look at that, it was more GTA V stunt races! We’ve got a theme going on today. :) And the theme for this episode was WALL RIDES FROM HELL. You know an episode is gonna be good when Gray struggles to get through the warm-up board. . .to be fair, the warm-up board in this case was a horrific narrow corkscrew of a loop-de-loop. He’s lucky he didn’t vomit. There was also the multi-vehicle board (forcing Gray to work on piloting planes through tubes and his paragliding skills) and the 99% everything board (SO MANY WALL RIDES OF PAIN. Gray sounded like he wanted to cry at some parts). It was a tour-de-force of the stunts Gray loathes so much, and it was glorious. XD And yes, he kept up his record of beating all these bastards. Accuse Gray of anything else, but do NOT accuse him of not having determination!

3. Write on “In A World Of His Own”: Check! Finished up the “Sketchbook World” chapter with Victor, Alice, and The Artist having a brief mud/tickle fight, then admiring the post-rain sunset sky. With Alice commenting on something I’ve noticed in this story – at least Victor getting wet seems to have become something of a theme. They’re almost always near some sort of water feature, and circumstances almost always lead to Victor (and Alice, usually) getting dunked in it. Victor just missed a waterfall in the first chapter, if I recall correctly, and I might have him get splashed now just to keep up the theme. XD But that just leaves the “let’s wrap it up” Queensland chapter, with Victor meeting the King! Yay, almost done with Draft One! :D

And I'm currently wrapping up the initial drafts for my Newcrest Adventures update this week (which was -- shorter than I expected, that's for sure -- two and a half as opposed to four last week!). So with that and clearing up my DW comment, I'll be set for the night! Need to get my sleep, after all -- four more days of this! But at least after that I have a three-day weekend, yay. . . Small mercies. Night all!
