crossover_chick: Alice in Hysteria mode firing her Pepper Grinder (AMA: SO MUCH RAGE)
Showed up near the end of the workday, and I am equal parts relieved and blah. At least now the twitchy hormonal wait is over! Now I just have to get through the next few days with increased tiredness and distraction. . .

Anyway, frustrating day at work (idiots in the building and more problems on the credit card side of things), frustrating ride in and back (tailgaters and people going too slow) -- coupled with the period, it means I'm not in the best mood. Fortunately it's been a decent enough evening, at least. . .

1. Continue working on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff: Check! Rewrote the very beginning of the “Fallout of Darkness” verse description (wasn’t quite happy with it, wanted to make sure it was in the same style and tense as my other stuff), and cleaned up my tags list a bit (mainly swapping the description and the actual tag – not sure why I had the latter FIRST!). Hopefully this should be good to go to debut on Saturday!

2. Keep up best I can with YouTube Subscriptions: Check, because – welp, guess who once again forgot that Gray takes Thursdays off. XD So just the one video in Subscriptions (at the time -- next Wyrd Sisters podcast has uploaded, but I'll be taking that on this weekend) – and two from my Watch Later! Yaay~ We had:

A) Call Me Kevin goes back to Prison Architect to play their new DLC! “Going Green” here was sponsored by Paradox, to showcase the new “create prison farms” feature. Kevin promptly wasted a ton of money on walls he couldn’t use/didn’t need (he wanted hay bales! for the Aesthetic!), overcrowded his prison with one giant holding cell with a single bench and toilet, created combined kitchen/morgue, infirmary/morgue, and canteen/shower areas, built up corn, tomato, potato, and orange farms, then locked everyone in (no one look behind the secret bookcase door!) and fired all the staff to make his prisoners “free range.” XD As you might imagine, this was a painful and bloody time for the prisoners – both morgue areas were working OVERTIME. XD But Kevin was making millions off corn and potatoes, so he didn’t care. [insert joke on capitalism and the American Prison System here]

B) Plumbella builds a haunted house with The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff! Though the actual video was Plumbella discussing her life and how she’s feeling and how she worries about her next-door neighbors, lovely people, hearing her recording just because it makes her awkward as fuck over her speed-building a house of pure Halloween vibes. The build itself made excellent use of all the “spooky” and “occult” packs, and certainly looks like a good haunted house! And Plumbella is apparently doing better mental health-wise from deciding to pull back on how often she uploads and not forcing herself to conform to neurotypical standards, so good for her. :)

C) Unraveled talks about how there should be new musical genres in the post-apocalypse wastelands of Fallout, damn it! This is a show I’ve heard much about, and I decided I might as well check out this particular episode, because – welp, I like Fallout and I did download a mod to add craftable instruments to it, sooo. . . Brian David Gilbert went over what he felt should be the most important elements of the new musical genre of the wasteland – peppy, inspiring, good for traditions, makes you wanna dance, in your face, something many people could get into – and came up with – ska, I guess. I’m not familiar with the genre so I shall have to take the joke at face value. But it ended with the very amusing (and indeed peppy) “Skallout War,” so I’m in favor. XD

3. Get in a workout: Check! Today was a walk on the treadmill, which meant some extra time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! We ended episode 46 with Grills finding nothing of particular interest in the small Gunner encampment the Brotherhood attacked except some handy spare fusion cores from a Sentry Bot, and heading over to the Nakano residence! Apparently there was some interesting stuff in there that Jon hadn’t noticed or gotten to experience on his original trip with Bacon, aka the “No Guns” character – like a little grave for Kasumi’s grandfather, and some Nick-specific dialogue with her father Kenji, which revealed how they knew each other (did a job together, got double-crossed by the client). So that was cool! :) Good things to know for my own (hopefully) eventual playthrough. . .

Anyway, Episode 47 opened with the gang still at the Nakano’s, with Grills having made an off-screen trip back to base to rekit himself (trading his Explosive .50cal sniper for his Gauss rifle, mainly). He and Nick searched out all of Kasumi’s holotapes (revealing a girl troubled by strange dreams and chafing a bit under what seems to be an overprotective father) and discovered that she’d sailed off to Far Harbor to join up with a colony of synths there (as she’s questioning if she might be one herself). Kenji gave them use of the Awesome Magic Fast-Travel Boat to go after her, which they did. Upon their epic arrival in Maine, they were met by Captain Avery, who was reasonably pleasant, and Allen, who was a jerk. There wasn’t much time for talking, though – an attack on the “Hull,” one of the main barriers guarding the town, led to Grills helping out the locals by killing a whole bunch of Mirelurks, Gulpers, and Anglers (the latter two being mutated salamanders and fish, if I recall correctly). Even got a couple of legendaries – though one of them had a Frigid Rolling Pin, which is – kind of less than useless. XD

With the threat taken care of, Jon directed Grills to start collecting side quests and helping the main town of harbor-folk. He cured a man dying of radiation poisoning with a dose of Mysterious Serum, promised Cassie he’d clear out some ghouls from the National Campground, said he’d pick up some tools for the Mariner to help repair the Hull, and told Captain Avery that he’d help fix their water purifier. All good stuff! He also got himself a room at the local inn, where he discovered that putting anything in his dresser was going to make it suddenly belong to Far Harbor. >( Bethesda. . . Anyway, he also picked up Old Longfellow, the DLC’s companion, as a guide to Acadia, the synth colony Kasumi joined. He, Grills, and Nick headed out of town, taking out some Trappers (cannibals, essentially) along the road as they did. I left it with Grills taking a detour to go ahead and take out those ghouls in the campground, which was not only a Far Harbor side quest, but also a Brotherhood side quest – yeah, Rhys tried to send him here ages ago. Guess Jon can finally hand that sucker in!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check! Couple of asks in Valice Multiverse, “Song Saturday” post done for Victor Loves Alice – I’m good.

So yeah, at least I had a good, productive night! And now it's time to finish answering DW comments and head to bed. Just one more day to get through. . .a day with my period, admittedly, but I've dragged myself through work days with that before. Just not gonna be pleasant braving tomorrow's ultra-cold with it. . . *sigh* The things you do to pay your mortgage. Night all!
