crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
In that I didn't have the best focus, and at any rate I kept getting pulled away from the task I was attempting (cleaning up duplicates and deceased) to do other stuff anyway. But it was somewhat less stressful anyway (chatty coworker in a better mood, but not too annoying), and I got all my breaks and whatnot, so I can't say it was an awful day at work. Just one more to go now. . .hopefully whatever snow we're going to get holds off until I get home, or they let us out a little early to beat it! Either will work.

At any rate, made it through the workday -- how'd I do on the home tasks?

1. Get in a workout: Check! A bit later than normal thanks to Dad working out when I got home, but I did get on the bike and watch another chunk of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! This bit was basically just Grills wandering around the Nucleus, looking for people to talk to and stuff to do. First up was to find the Archemist, the local doctor – who actually did allow Grills to get a rad scrub! She called it “scouring” – a later talk with Sister Mai explained that the Children of Atom consider it a form of “penitence” for those who aren’t naturally immune to radiation, like most of the cultists. Jon was appreciative of there being an in-universe reason why the radiation cult would have anti-rad stuff. Next order of business was to find a bed for poor Overtired Grills – but uh-oh, the only ones available were dirty mattresses scattered about, and those you can only sleep on for five hours, not fully scrubbing your exhaustion. Oh dear, Jon was not happy about that. . .

Well, Grills just made do for the moment, getting in a nap and then going around to collect all the quests. Sister Mai the vendor asked him to find some parts for her so she could “fix” the decontamination arches lining the entrance to their little lair – that takes him to the Vim! Factory, so Jon figured he could do that when the main quest for the area also takes him there. A quest he could do right away was for Brother Wade, who asked him to intercede on behalf of his friend Brother Devin – seemed Devin had chosen to starve and irradiate himself in hopes of receiving a messenger from Atom. And given that Devin is one of those who isn’t immune to “The Glow,” Wade was getting worried. Grills agreed to help out, and – thanks to the power of his red dress and bowler hat – managed to convince Devin that he was Atom’s Messenger and that he’d freed him from his mental shackles (complete with utterly HILARIOUS “HIYAH!” karate chop sound effect XD). Reward was a bunch of XP and some pretty damn useless in Survival Mode homemade anti-rad drugs – Jon was less than impressed.

Up top, he grabbed a quest from Richter – tracking down heretic Gwen – and finally talked to Tektus himself, trying to urge peace only to be shot down. Tektus was willing to give him a bit of a loyalty quest, though – figure out what was going on with a certain Sister Aubert. What was going on was her getting upset about the mysterious, “accidental” death of her lover Edgar and being pissed off with Tektus (saying his predecessor Martin was superior). Jon apparently helped her out in Bacon’s run, but Grills is a tattletale, and turned over her note to Tektus, who said he would have his people “collect” her and gave Grills an Inquisitor’s Cowl that boosts his intellect the more irradiated he is. Good for getting extra XP for quests around here! He also gave Grills permission to search through DiMA’s memories, happy someone had cracked the code to get into them.

Grills didn’t do that right away, though – after another “scouring” and a save-nap, he headed back out in the wilds to try and find his way back to a base to try and take care of his slowly-growing status ailments! I left him climbing his way back up to Acadia, having recently leveled up to 65 and taken the “Awareness” perk for some extra information on enemies’ resistances in VATS. At the very least, he can get ONE proper sleep before the episode’s over!

2. Work some more on “In A World Of His Own”: Check! After a heartfelt moment about Scraps, Mr. Explorer has just shown Victor and Alice that his Ferdinand is also able to give rides! And now Victor’s preparing to have his own go – after he confirms that he isn’t accidentally about to crush poor Ferdy with his bigger size. Don’t worry, Victor – I wouldn’t do that! You’re in the part of the verse where the torture is more or less over. ;P

3. Keep up on YouTube Subscriptions: Two-thirds check – I focused on James and Gray today, since James had a longer video and I figured I’d only really have time for the shorter one. Kevin can wait until tomorrow, especially since there won’t be a Gray uploaded then (Thursday, after all).

A) Started with James Turner and the latest “3 Brothers” episode! James has gotten rid of the laundry and the aging for the time being, allowing Candle a bit more time to be a teenager (and seriously, it’s just a bit – he’s basically right on the verge of becoming a Young Adult!). For a change, the youngest member of the family is doing pretty well – he’s got a good job as a Barista that he’s already been promoted in, and he’s finally gotten his grades up to a solid A. And his needs aren’t complete garbage all the time too, with naps in the bath and a slightly nicer bed to call his own. XD Brodie is doing well too – he took Isaiah on a hike over to the mountain shrine to work on his aspiration a bit more, and received his Paranormal Investigator license from Guidry! Even did his first gig at an apartment in San MyShuno! Drew a few séance circles, mopped up some symbols, kicked apart some hands. . .accidentally summoned Temperance, drank one of the resident’s plasma, and headed out with $750 in his pocket, along with a reward item. Nice work if you can get it. XD And that was an EASY gig – his next one is going to be an “adept” gig, so we’ll see how it goes. No, it was poor Isaiah who suffered in this one – mainly from mockery. Because when he was on that hike, weeell. . .turns out the game is poorly optimized for vampires who have super-speed all the time to take a slow, meandering hike. Meaning Isaiah did a hilarious speedy penguin walk all the way along the trail – except when he was climbing stairs, where he shot ahead like a bullet. Occasionally straight through fences. XD Poor guy also almost started randomly attacking Sims for plasma after a long day at work completely drained his Thirst need – fortunately, James had a bunch of plasma fruit on hand to barely pull him back into the green (guys, do NOT take the “Sloppy Drinker” weakness, you’ll be drinking plasma CONSTANTLY). And then he got him “Tamed Thirst” so he didn’t turn completely into a monster before he could be cured. At least they now have enough money for him to buy the Ultimate Vampire Tome so that can become a possibility!

Oh, and Brodie’s a father now. With Bonehilda. Yes, GETTING HER PREGNANT IS A THING. I – have no idea how this doesn’t destroy your game, but – it’s a thing. *shakes head* Wow. Baby is Chaz Ricks, and we will see what kind of monstrosity it is later! XD

B) And over with GrayStillPlays, it’s probably his longest GTA V Impossible Stunt Board challenge yet! Another parkour challenge – you start miles in the sky and have to make your way back down through a number of insane jumps, twitchy tightropes (literally – whatever asset the creator used to make their tightropes, it made the tires on Gray’s car just VIBRATE), various wall ride challenges, loop-de-loops, going up and around things at weird angles, and the classic driving through poles. Gray was initially pleased at easily getting a few checkpoints, but then the anger set in as he tried to figure out what this bastard’s problem with gravity was. XD Although maybe it isn’t the creator who has a problem, as for some reason Gray’s car started sliding UPWARD at one point. . .

4. Get my VictorLuvsAlice queue sorted: Again, two-thirds check – I need posts for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and I got the former two sorted with some stuff hanging out in my drafts. I DO have a couple of things in mind for a potential Song Saturday, though, so getting that done tomorrow evening shouldn’t be an issue. :)

Not too shabby, right? Especially with a long weekend ahead to catch up on videos -- and finally play some Sims 4, as the latest MC Command Center release is finally out! I'll have to hit both of my save files. . .or maybe do some building? I kinda want to see if I can recreate the windmill trapper base I like so much from Far Harbor. . . Call it "practice" for my eventual FO4-themed challenge save. XD

Right now, though, I have to finish answering DW comments, then hit the sack. As stated above, still got one more day to get through. Hopefully it doesn't absolutely crawl. . . Night all!
