A More Stressful Thursday
May. 27th, 2021 11:12 pmI just wasn't in a great mood to begin with (didn't sleep well last night because of the heat, not to mention the whole 'waking up extra-early for no good reason' problem), and there was JUST ENOUGH stressful stuff happening to keep me on edge (like fielding phone calls from people annoyed about multiple billings, or dealing with GL issues). *sigh* Plus bugs. Had one crawling on me during my lunch break, and now I've got little flies and stuff in my room. . .ugh. This is the bit I hate about summer -- all the creepy-crawlies are out. Yech.
Survived the day, though, and made it home to play more beanbags. Score today was W-3-2 – I got some good throws in the first game, but Dad managed to come back in the second two to win both. Poor Mom only got second once, awww. Maybe tomorrow, Mom!
And then it was time to work on the to-do list --
1. Get in a workout: Check! Back on the bike to finish off “Fallout 4: Lockdown!” (And then watch the Sims 4: Dream Home Decorator announcement trailer again after not being able to decide what I wanted to watch next.) Captain Bad Ideas ended up not building the raider cages in favor of just luring people in, stealing their caps, killing them in their sleep, undressing them to make them easier to carry, then taking them down to the stream to wash and eat them away from prying eyes. It took quite a long while (and her picking up quite a few diseases, ironically), but she eventually got the 200 bottlecaps needed to set up a store! At which point the game gave the settler she assigned to be shopkeep a bunch of money, allowing her to steal it by selling him a gold bar and then set up a NICER store. He will also buy the settlement’s own purified water for reasons. Captain Bad Ideas then built more toolboxes to get the “Medic 1” perk, allowing her to make a first aid station and have the settler cure her dark cravings, meaning she was off the human meat! Instead she set up molerat cages so she can feast on those instead – that and melons. XD By the end of the episode, she had a clothing shop, a first aid station, and a bar; a new settler farming the melons; her trusty guard still watching the bridge; a bunch of molerat cages (that nearly killed her when one spawned a Glowing Molerat, but what can you do); and a sign proclaiming to all that she was no longer a cannibal. And a mountain of corpses by the stream. XD Very successful lockdown! Ah, this game can be so silly sometimes. . .
2. Post “In A World Of His Own” Chapter 3: Check! Read it here! And let me know if there any more cases of “Wizards” instead of “Wizard” – I THINK I caught them all, but I can’t be sure.
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: TECHNICALLY N/A, as – well, Thursdays are Gray’s day off (at least for non-members), and Kevin’s “every other day” posting schedule as of late means he didn’t upload today either. Huh. So instead I watched a couple of videos by Plumbella:
A) “I tried building a house in The Sims 2 in 2021. help” – Jesse makes a reasonably-nice-but-also-kinda-terrible house in Sims 2. It has a sunken kid’s area on the first floor thanks to split-level cheats that also screwed up a corner on the opposite end of the house; floral-patterned countertops and pink appliances in the kitchen, overlooking a giant table with austere blue chairs; a circle-bed made from glitching two of those beds with the weird curved canopy together; and the world’s most dangerous water-slide out back. XD Most of the video was spent either waxing nostalgic about the game or complaining about how Sims 4 did it better. More or less just business as usual for Jesse and her builds, honestly. :p
B) “The Goth house is a fake b****” – Plumbella spends a bit of time slagging off the Goth house across all the Sims games (mostly decrying that their decorating style is “Tory” (aka conservative) rich when they’re supposed to be off-brand Addams family), then switches to speed build mode to completely redo the Sims 4 house according to her preferred vibes and style. It came out pretty cool, with a nice little tower and plenty of spooky spaces (Alexander even has his own ghost-wallpaper room in the tower!). She also talked about pushing herself to do more uploading to battle her anxiety, working through her mental illness, and getting her schedule right so she can do what’s important to her with the time she has and the right sleep schedule. Good stuff, and it’s always fun to see her build! :)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, though it was tight – busy day on Valice Multiverse with three asks and two thread replies (both fortunately fairly short). Got the “In A World Of His Own” Chapter 3 link queued up on Victor Luvs Alice, along with reblogging an old song for Song Saturday (I have another song I want to feature from the same artist, but ran out of time to do a fresh post – I figured doing a “lead-up” with the old song would work).
Okay, good, that's all sorted. Just have to answer my other DW comment and then hit the sack. Hoping I get to sleep a bit better tonight. . . Night all!
