A Distracted Wednesday Night
Jun. 23rd, 2021 11:16 pmI'm rereading chunks of "Londerland Bloodlines" and thus losing track of time here. Let's just get up the Standard Form and get on with it:
Work – Pretty much the usual – not too much going on, but I found some more credit card nonsense (and then one of my coworkers found some more), so now we have to contact the company and get that all taken care of. *grumbles* Keeps me in a job, I guess, but I wish it was OTHER things keeping me in a job.
Beanbags – Yup! Lovely weather today meant we finally got back to the game – and it was a good day for me, with a 2-W-W record! Just managing to throw them really well today. . . Dad had W-2-2, and poor Mom lost all three. Oof – well, hopefully she’ll do better tomorrow.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – 30 minutes on the bike again, with a Sims series video (specifically, the creator saying things they personally felt Sims 4 actually did better than Sims 3 – build/buy was of course on there, but the creator said they also liked Sims 4 hair and faces better, and that they liked that Sims 4 doesn’t try to get you to buy things with “Simpoints” like Sims 3 did. Also, fun fact – if you bought all Sims 4 DLC, you’d have spent about 800 bucks. All Sims 3 DLC, including all items from the store? Over two grand. So yikes) and a Fallout series video (Gameranx going through the top toughest and most irritating quests in the Fallout series – Fallout 4 got both bottom spot with “Hole In The Wall,” aka the quest that will give you molerat disease if you don’t prepare and/or use mods, and top spot with the general “a settlement is under attack, go defend them” radiant quests, because it just gets frustrating after a while. Two Nuka-World quests made it on too – “Cappy In A Haystack” for being irritating, “Open Season” for being really hard for the “good guy” option). Keepin’ on keepin’ on there!
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Finished off Chapter 2 today, with Alice considering everything on her plate, and Cheshire suggesting that she take the rest of the night to try and plan out her attacks a little better. Alice has decided this is a good idea and is heading back home to see if a) her shot-up shirt can be saved and b) if the jacket she’s currently using to hide it can be altered. Hopefully Trip has got a sewing kit! . . .Given Chapter 3 will start with her admiring her new pockets, I think he will. XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: The usual three-fifths of a check – I’m hoping that I can catch up a little more tomorrow, since Gray won’t be posting for the plebs that day (he has special videos for people in his YouTube membership – I’d love to see them, but I don’t want to spend the money until I have the spoons and time to actually watch them!). But we’re keeping on keeping on –
A) Again, went a couple of days back to catch up a bit with James Turner – this time with a building video! Specifically, building a real version of a debug house in Sims 4! Even more specifically, it’s a house designed to be fixed up, it’s being built in Del Sol Valley, and it’s for Hazel from “Rags to Redecoration!” James thought it would be appropriate for her to have a house she herself would renovate as time went on, much like the apartment in San Myshuno. He decided to do a copy of a debug house because the lots in Del Sol Valley are pretty big, so he wanted to cut off the space that Hazel actually had to live in, and thus basically built an entire little side street, complete with debug house neighbors! Most of the video was him honestly just making the place look like a neglected side street neighborhood. XD But he did a good job of aping the outer shell of the debug houses next door, and making a tiny house for Hazel to move into and call her own, with a terrible layout and awful outdated furnishings. XD It even has a fireplace shoved in behind the kitchen appliances. Good stuff! I’m looking forward to seeing her move in and put her own style on it.
B) Then it was time for Call Me Kevin, and a perspective flip on Gray’s video yesterday. :D Yes, the GTA shenanigans are back, only this time we get Kevin’s commentary and viewpoint as the primary, not Gray’s. Kevin included a bit more of the team-picking chatter (Gray being baffled Kevin and DF as a team got to be “military trained,” and Kevin actually suggesting his lawnmower race at the end, complete with evil laughter), and a few new angles at stuff I didn’t always see properly in Gray’s video (namely the bit in the third board where they all managed to die and thus all lost, and Kevin actually getting into a TANK to shoot at Gray and DF at the end of the “snipers vs runners” course). Still making me smile, this collab – I REALLY want more now.
C) And today Gray favored us with another one of those baffling puzzle “draw the thing, erase the thing, look for the thing” games, Braining! This one was largely “move the element to make the puzzle work,” though there was also a lot of “spot the thing that links these two people together.” Another one of those “6 Second Riddles but you actually have to interact more than just pausing the YouTube video” games. Involved such lovely things as moving a sun to figure out which chocolate ice cream was actually poop; moving a man up and down to do “jumping jacks” to make him lose weight; guessing which zombie was a guy’s ex by checking for matching tattoos; and finding cheaters by breaking open a closet with a mallet. Also, Gray took a Dying Light 2 sponsorship and chopped up a laptop with a pole saw. Ah, I love this man. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check! Reset the drop rate to one and got Friday and Saturday’s posts sorted! I’m good through the end of the week on Victor Luvs Alice now. :)
Not bad, not bad. . .let me just take care of my DW comment, and then I can see about heading to bed. Two more days of my last actual full week for a while! We'll see how they go. . .probably about the same as the past couple of days. *shrug* Night all!
