Somewhat Stressful Thursday
Jun. 24th, 2021 11:13 pm*pinches bridge of nose* Just one of those days where I end up feeling kind of squeezed because of annoyances at work and the whole "car shopping" thing at home. It's unpleasant and I don't like it. Hopefully this doesn't carry over into the weekend. . .
Work – Another kind of frustrating day, as you probably guessed – I spent a lot of time this morning organizing my documents containing various issues, then ran into more fun credit card bullshit (or, rather, the same bullshit that never gets fixed) this afternoon. *sigh* Gotta love vendors who say they’re gonna do something and then just never do it.
Beanbags – Well, another lovely day, weather-wise, so we did indeed have a trio of games! And my record remains solid – W-3-W, with Mom getting 3-W-3! Dad came in second every game, amusingly enough. I suppose it could have been worse! :p
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – went on the treadmill today, as the bike seat has been kind of biting into my bum lately. Watched part of a Sims 4 mods video (until I decided I couldn’t take the YouTuber behind it anymore and wasn’t learning of anything particularly interesting or new); rewatched an old Plumbella video (the one where she and Stepho become supervillains and Kevin stabs RT before everyone becomes pole dancers); and finished off with a compilation video featuring JackSepticEye interacting with Kevin (didn’t find it as funny as Kevin and RT – or Kevin and Gray these days). Also gave myself a blister – should have worn thicker socks. Got it wrapped up in a band-aid now!
2. Do the second draft of my other gift fic: Check! Gigs’s requested fic about the adoption of Lightning is now in post-ready form for next Wednesday. :) I think it came out quite cute – hope you like it too!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Half check thanks to Gray not posting today. Decided to use the evening to catch up some more on James Turner instead – and he actually finished the “3 Brothers” LP today, so I decided to watch through the last two episodes of that!
A) 6/22/2021 – I think this episode could be summed up as “James has a LOT of trouble wrangling his Sims.” Candle started his new term at university, though he’s not doing as good as James hoped (despite getting his presentation done before taking a single class) – somehow he managed to go to a class unprepared despite James being pretty damn scrupulous about him doing his homework. He’s also striking out with his potential friend/love interest Miko, though that’s less her fault and more Candle’s – he’s Unflirty, so romance isn’t really in the cards for him, and whenever she comes over or asks him to hang out, his needs are too garbage to go. Ah well. Isaiah was doing all right – he took a bunch of logic skill classes and got himself a promotion, though it didn’t come with any fun bonuses. He also missed work (and Chaz missed school) because Temperance visited the haunted house one night and being absolutely terrified of her overrode his leaving the lot – to the point where it glitched out and claimed he went to work long enough to earn a single dollar. James wasn’t happy. Brodie was honestly doing the best, having picked up a love of upgrading by fixing and improving everything in the house (helped by Temperance breaking all their stuff). He was also trying to be a decent father to now-toddler Trenton. Chaz was just doing his own thing, largely experimenting at his science table and cleaning up the constant messes in the house. Basically it was chaos and it’s hard to believe James got it together enough to end the LP in the next video. XD
B) 6/24/2021 – this one can be summed up as “WHY THE HELL ISN’T IT THUNDERSNOWING I’VE BEEN ON THIS MOUNTAIN FOR IN-GAME MONTHS.” XD AKA, James decides it’s time to wrap things up with the three brothers (and two children). Isaiah of course was already good, having cured his vampirism long ago, but Candle needed to graduate university, and Brodie needed to max out his aspiration! You know, the one thing about this LP (other than them living in Mt. Komorebi) that actually related to Snowy Escape? XD A walk through one of the neighborhoods got him the three wildlife attacks he needed to survive – but despite staying on the mountain long enough to max out both the Snowboarding AND Skiiing skills, and in the end taking an extended vacation at James’s own rental lot to wait it out, the inclement weather he needed to ski and/or snowboard in never arrived. Awwww. :( Well, he came as close as he could, and nobody can fault him for that!
As for Candle, he did successful graduate university, though with an A- GPA rather than an A+ – for some reason, he managed to get a C in one class in his final semester (comments think he might have missed the final exam). But he did graduate, and now has a degree in Psychology plus a few books under his belt, good for him. :p And as for Chaz and Trenton, they did eventually age up when Brodie finally came home and made them a cake – Trenton is now an alien child who is an Active Social Butterfly, and Chaz a teenager who wants to make a better, greener world and is Outdoorsy! Since, you know, he’s almost certainly going to be doing the Cottage Living LP. . . And so the series wrapped up with Isaiah making the cure for his nephew to cure him of vampirism (since he was born a vampire thanks to his dad)! Man, that LP was a wild ride. . .and James has one more “bonus episode” in mind, where he’s going to give that house of theirs a PROPER makeover. God knows it needs it!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – since Victor Luvs Alice is all sorted, just had to do two asks and a thread reply over on Valice Multiverse.
Well, at least I'm keeping up reasonably well on to-do list stuff. . .and hopefully this weekend, if nothing else, I can start properly catching up on my subs again. We'll see.
As it stands, I still need to get through one more day of work, and then cleaning on Saturday. Hopefully it won't be too bad. . .again, we'll see. Night all!
