As in, that was literally the weather -- very hazy and hot. The air had something of a smokey quality to it -- which makes sense, as I believe this is smoke that has traveled over here from all those wildfires out west. Yikes. . . And tomorrow there's another chance of thunderstorms, bleeeh. *sigh* I'm really hoping they're right about Thursday through Saturday being decent! I'd like some actual NICE days, please!

That being said, can't actually complain TOO much about today:

Work – Another fairly quiet day – couple more credit card calls, obits, stuff like that. *shrug* I’m fine with not too exciting, honestly – makes it easier to get through the day!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! Another thirty on the bike (this time doing one of the “fun rides”) and about the same with the A:MR speedrun! I’ve gotten through the Deluded Depths and about halfway through the Mysterious East. Alice has been dodging and leaping her way through all the things – including a number of things she shouldn’t be able to leap on or through. XD It’s really fun, and the fast pace really encourages me to keep up my pedaling. It’s good!

2. Write some more on “Learn To Love Again”: Check! Alice has assured Victor that she doesn’t find his compliment too forward, and has gotten him to sit down with her and have a bit of a chat (mostly because the poor guy looked so nervous, she wanted to calm him down a bit). She’s surprised that he doesn’t seem to recognize her name (or is polite enough to keep his questions to himself) – not knowing that he feels the exact same way. XD They’ve talked a little bit about why Victor was so taken with her eyes (short answer: there’s a lack of green eyes in Burtonsville), and now we’re seguing into why Victor’s in London in the first place. Simple but fun so far – it’s kind of nice to get back to “early days making a connection” Valice. :)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Three in, three out because they were all longer episodes today –

A) Started with James Turner and the next episode of the Cottage Living Early Access LP! Today was essentially a double-building episode – James spent the first half remodeling the barn and making it look nice (with a second bedroom upstairs, complete with extension out the roof to get some natural light), then promptly gathered up his animals, his plants (except for his mushrooms – James.), and some other odds and ends and headed to a new home – the razed 64X64 lot! And then the second half was him building a nice medium-sized brick cottage to live in, which is only partially furnished because Chaz basically spent all his money on the move and building the shell. But he has everything he needs to live, he’s got his plants and his chickens out again, and – uh – well, Cowlene and Lenny seem to have glitched out. Uh-oh. I guess we’ll see what becomes of them in the next episode! (Note to self, maybe put all animals in PERSONAL inventory, not household, during a move. . .)

B) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin playing some Rimworld! This is apparently a game about establishing a working colony on another planet (MAY be made by the same people behind Prison Architect and the like; definitely shares an art style with it), where you have to build shelter, farm food, gather resources, and just plain old survive. Kevin. . .well, his initial team of three – Pirate Kevin, Ironhead, and Fugly – actually did okay for themselves at first. They built themselves a little shelter, a couple of prisons, food refrigeration, and a surrounding wall; they killed some animals and eventually made themselves a little farm; and Kevin and Fugly ended up getting together! It was all going wonderfully –

And then the fire happened. As in, a maddened boomalope entered their home, exploded, and set everything on fire. Kevin died trying to get the fire out; Ironhead was badly injured by the explosion; and Fugly just plain didn’t give a shit until their donkey, maddened by Kevin’s death, attacked her. A mysterious man called “Loser” showed up to help, but the donkey got him too, leaving him and Ironhead to just barely cling to life in the wreckage of the colony. Kevin tried reloading a couple of times, and finally got Loser to kill the manhunter donkey and temporarily save Ironhead. . .but then some local tribespeople came around, set some more fires, and kidnapped Loser, leaving Ironhead to perish from his wounds. As you might imagine, everyone in the comments wants more. XD

C) And to finish off, we had GrayStillPlays back in Minecraft, creating an army of axolotls to destroy the Ender Dragon for him! As you do. No, seriously, he spawned in a new, uniquely-named axolotl every thirty seconds, and they all had powers like murdering his enemies and giving him buffs. AND they were upgradeable to the point where they shot exploding arrows and what seriously looked like fireworks at everything that even glanced in their direction. Gray spawned a bunch of Wither Skeletons in Creative mode to test their powers, and they killed most of them before they could hit the ground. As you might imagine, things got completely out of hand VERY quickly – they basically WIPED OUT the Nether when Gray visited to try and trade with the Piglins. XD And the Ender Dragon was easy as pie, especially when Gray went Creative Mode and basically gave them the ability to fly on top of everything else. XD Oh, he does such stupid things to this game. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check! Got the Chill Save Sims posts into the Victor Luvs Alice queue (and adjusted the posting frequency) before I headed downstairs to work out; then did the gift fic and a Friday post afterward. On Valice Multiverse, one thread reply, three asks, all sorted. Nice and simple!

And that's about it, beyond answering my DW comment. Time to wrap up and hit the sheets! We'll see how tomorrow goes, if things continue to be relatively quiet and if the weather calms down any. . .night all!
