crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)
The weather is slowly getting hotter and stickier (and it apparently rained over by my house, meaning no beanbags), I've had a few twinges in my back, and I've been scrambling to keep up with everything around some surprisingly busy conversations with tumblr friends. Let's get the to-do list up so I can wrap up everything and get to bed --

Work – Not quite so pleasant a day as it has been. A guy came in downstairs with his debit card (as if he expected us to have a swipe terminal right at the front desk), and my coworkers had to get him to call me upstairs to make his gifts; all my coworkers disappeared for various reasons around lunchtime, leaving me to handle a surprise visitor; and oh yes they were testing the alarm systems both in the morning AND the afternoon meaning a good chunk of each we had to deal with an ear-piercing tone. *wince* I mean, I was decently productive, got that guy’s gifts done and some other stuff besides, but – hoping tomorrow is a little better.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another half-hour on the bike, and started Episode 14 of Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! This one was largely Miss Jon following Dogmeat on the route he takes to find Kellogg – first time I’ve seen it, because Survival Playthrough!Jon and YOLO!Jon just skipped right to Fort Hagen to avoid taking Dogmeat’s circuitous route through danger. I am actually glad to see the actual route, though – the game makes you stop every so often and find a fresh clue for Dogmeat to sniff so he can continue to track, and naturally there’s a few enemies along the way (notably mole rats and feral ghouls for Miss Jon – on the plus side, there were a couple of Legendaries there too, and she managed to get a nice bit of VATS-Enhanced Synth gear for her right arm). It’s reasonably entertaining to watch, and I’m sure that if/when I get back to my own playthrough, I’ll do it the “correct” way for the fun factor. :)

Of course Past!Jon wouldn’t be Jon if he didn’t get distracted sometimes, and there were two major deviations from the path from him wanting to tag places for later fast-travel. The first was the Forest Grove Marsh community, where Miss Jon wandered the rooftops, collected a few mutated fern flowers, and found a holotape explaining how the previous traders – supplying the chem guy in Diamond City, Solomon – were set upon by ferals. And then she was set upon by ferals. XD Okay, technically, the ferals attacked BEFORE she found the holotape, but one of them lunged at her just as the tape started going on about ferals with beautiful timing, so that was cool. :) The second was a trip to the Blood Clinic by Fort Hagen, where Miss Jon went exploring and found that Infected Bloodbugs are nasty little bastards and take a lot more shots to kill than you might thing. Ugh, giant mosquitoes really are the worst. . . She got out in one piece though (and with a bunch of blood packs!). I left it with her and Dogmeat, having cleared the roof of turrets, heading inside and getting a Protectron on board just in time to fight the synths within. Looking forward to how he handles the confrontation with Kellogg!

Oh, and amusing side note – as per usual with all forms of Jon, Past!Jon forgot to change Miss Jon out of her Charisma gear when first setting out, and put her armor back on after taking out the mole rats. But it wasn’t until she ran across escaped synth Timothy and demanded he give her his caps that Past!Jon realized HE’D FORGOTTEN TO PUT HER FATIGUES ON. As in, she was running around in her UNDERWEAR and her armor. Timothy wisely handed over his money. XD Miss Jon spent the rest of the episode dressed after that, as far as we know. XD

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – after suffering her first jump scare with good old Eddie, Alice has found that Wonderland is once again shaping her perceptions – namely, she’s seeing little crystal pendants above all the newspapers scattered around the place that tell the story of the hotel. Hey, I thought it was a nice touch. :p She’s currently found two – one talking about how the source of the blaze is still a mystery; the other detailing the grand opening. And she’s successfully dodged MOST of what Ed’s thrown at her so far. . .but she’s just about to try the stairs. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check, plus a bonus video because I had the time, yay --

A) Started with an upload from Plumbella – “judging packs by whether i'd buy them if i wasn't a game changer!” Basically she went through all the packs that are currently out (11 Expansions, 10 Game Packs, 18 Stuff Packs, 4 Kits, this fucking game is fucking expensive) and said if she would have bought them outright (e.g., Seasons, Cottage Living, Outdoor Retreat, Spooky Stuff), put them on the back-burner as present ideas (e.g., Get To Work, Get Together), or just passed up outright (e.g., City Living – apparently city-themed packs make her genuinely ill from disorientation! and almost every other stuff pack apart from Laundry Day and Paranormal) if she wasn’t a Game Changer and thus denied access to all packs. She admits that this means she might have missed out on some she’s come to genuinely love (Romantic Garden Stuff) and been very disappointed by some others she’d immediately have snapped up (Island Living). Interesting stuff – and, as usual, it’s nice to see the Simmers I watch calling Vampires, one of my favorite packs, awesome. :)

B) Then it was over to the Subs to say hello to James Turner again – who spent his time recovering from the COVID jab doing this: “I decided to create GeoGuessr for The Sims 4.” XD Yes, he made a Sims-themed version of the GeoGuessr game, where you have to figure out where a certain location is from clues in a Google Maps street view scene. (Apparently someone ALREADY did this for GTA V, which is part of what inspired him.) He treated us to an “early access” look at the game (it’s not live yet), then showed how it’s made by adding in a new location from Henford-On-Bagley! It was neat stuff, and I’m actually rather eager to give the game a go. GeoGuessr itself never really intrigued me, but I’m curious as to how good my knowledge of Sims locations is. (Probably wretched, but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? :p)

C) After that it was time for Call Me Kevin and Spellcaster University! Yup, it’s one of those “build your own X” games, this time with a magical school! Oh dear. XD Kevin created the “real good and nice magical school,” decked it out with the colors of Ireland, made a couple of houses – “Hero” and “Shitty Evil Feckers” – then started happily hanging out with the Lord of Evil over in the cemetery, recruiting vampires to his school, buying demonology classrooms and child-eating beds, forcing his students to pay to sleep in the child-eating bed, sending them out on dangerous expeditions into the sewers, and basically making money out the wazoo. Also brewing tons of alcohol and buying a cat and a dragon as the school pets. XD Good times! Except when the school is being attacked by orcs and the undead, of course. XD

D) And finally we had GrayStillPlays another GTA V stunt board! This one was a Fall Guys-themed parkour board done on foot, with all sorts of fun obstacles like leaping from tilted platform to tilted platform, riding mechanical billboards and ! signs to destinations, climbing over oversized straws and giant burgers, and, of course avoiding five million wind turbines along the way. There is ONE part where you get a car, and it’s solely to go over some weird multicolored grid. :P Gray suffered a fair bit trying to keep his balance and get the timing right (except for the part where he just legged it and it somehow worked), but he did complete it! Florida Man celebrated by dropping his parachute and presumably leaping to his doom. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: I’m gonna say 95% check – I adjusted the queue speed so the Thursday and Friday posts would go on Thursday and Friday, and I STARTED my Song Saturday post, linking to the playlist I made on Spotify for my Fallout of Darkness verse. Trouble is, trying to figure out HOW to make the post, and then listing off the songs on it (because I couldn’t figure out how to do the fancy embed thing) was taking more time than I really had tonight, so I had to leave it half-finished. Hopefully I can complete it tomorrow sometime! Or Friday, if necessary.

Okay, not bad, not bad -- just wish it hadn't taken up so much time, especially at the end there! Let's clear out my comments and head to bed -- night all!
