crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
It just occurred to me that, between this and my worsening mood over the week, I am PROBABLY PMSing. I mean, it's about the right time of month for the red tide to wash over me. . . We'll see if it hits this weekend or next week. I generally have a couple of days of "oh come ON already" before I get it. . . *shakehead* Anyway, the list of things:

Work – Meh day – not too much interesting on the work side (obits, duplicates, stuff like that), but my coworkers were extra annoying today, which did not do wonders for my mood. Neither did getting out and finding some sort of event going on. *grumbles* I just put on my mask and got to my car. Glad to be home for the weekend.

Beanbags – Nope – while it wasn’t actively raining when I came home, it had rained pretty good earlier in the day, and even if the ground had dried out, the mosquitoes were out in force. Hopefully tomorrow!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: No check today – decided to take the day as my skip and just took an early shower. We’ll see about starting the final three episodes of Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough over the weekend!

2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check – Alice has not gotten a new weapon from Trip, but she has gotten some ammo for her gun and a duffel bag perfect for carrying around a necklace, a diary, and the ax of a jealous killer! Now it’s time to deliver it all to the Asylum. . .but she’s about to discover the wrong sister in residence. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check, with another three in, three out – plus a bonus video! :D

A) Started with the week’s Fun With Shorts – “Prehistoric Animals of the Tarpits Part 1!” The first half of a short about, what else, the famous La Brea Tar Pits and the fossils obtained from them. Pretty standard dry educational film, with Josh livening up with riffs comparing fossils to Republicans. XD

B) Then I took a detour over to my Watch Later to catch up on an OXBox video – “Deathloop: 2 Ways to Play Death Loop's Creepy Party: Stealth vs KILL EVERYONE (PC Gameplay)!” Yeah, guess which two members of the OXBox team were playing Deathloop. XD (Which I learned today is made by the same people who made Dishonored, which is interesting! Guess they decided to take their style sci-fi for a change.) Andy, of course, took the “Suit Only Silent Assassin” route, carefully creeping into the party being thrown by his target (a self-important artistic dick), discovering that the man was very weak to his own musical “genius” and figuring out what mix would get him to announce himself and break it down on the dance floor, then using his ability to link people together to slaughter him and everyone else in the room in one shot. Target’s life essence and special power absorbed, and a casual stroll (with a short detour along the way to demonstrate said new power, which is basically a Force push/Fus-Do-Rah/throw your enemies around like ragdolls dealio) to the exit, without any muss or fuss, and only a few dead guards because there’s no nonlethal ways to deal with anyone.

As proven by Mike, who – well. He killed some people along the way to the party; got himself killed trying to kick a drunk guy off a roof; committed a mutual kill on Julianna when she came by to hunt him via way of gas gun (but was able to refill his lives off her life essence); then basically camped the entrance to the party for a while, using two hacked turrets he named Cagney and Lacey to kill most of the guests for him while he ran back to the health station periodically and murdered the people lurking on the roof with the fireworks. The guests eventually managed to blow up the turrets – Mike retaliated with another turret, then finally moved in himself up the stairs for better murdering. He ended up killing his target more or less on accident while trying to gun down more guests chasing him. XD Of course, he then died, and because you respawn a little ways away, it then became a matter of getting past the few still-living guests to actually get the guy’s life essence and slab. Mike managed it on his last life, and limped his way out of the decimated party and back to his safe zone. He died four times and basically left like one or two people alive. XD You gotta love the contrast between these two!

C) Then it was back over to the Subs, for Call Me Kevin and Detroit: Become Human, that game about androids and making choices. Only Kevin’s not making any choices today. Gathering clues and inspecting the evidence as Connor? Nah, let’s just go out onto the rooftop to negotiate with the traumatized android and then stand around awkwardly and silently until the timer runs out on all my choices and I inevitably pick the bottom option. Actually tell my owner/guardian a lie about my trip to get paint (rudely interrupted by some anti-android activists) as Markus? Nah, staring at you awkwardly over breakfast before having ALL the trouble wheeling you into your art studio is better. Actively make the decision to run away as Kara with your abusive owner’s daughter? Nah, standing there motionless and getting killed super-early is better. XD No, seriously, Kara straight-up died as a result of Kevin refusing to make a choice. And technically, so did Markus (who got framed for his caretaker’s murder by the guy’s own son), though he got the chance to reboot! In the, uh, rain, in a giant pit of broken androids. *shifty eyes* And Connor’s still sucking at solving mysteries, so there’s no way for him get off. I think Kevin’s right when he calls this a type of speed-run. XD

D) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! We started off with a mine cart ride through a hell cave with Discount Indiana Jones (who ended the level with no limbs but still alive, so), then moved onto such delights as a surprise multi-stage bottle run (which Gray accidentally skipped portions of pouring on the speed – still won, though!); a meteorite run (if you don’t book it over those parked vans you are going to DIE); a troll level of many, MANY ways to die and only one way to win (fortunately Gray’s love of speed served him well once he found the secret area telling him to collect all the coins to win – falling beam? JUST PEDAL LIKE METAL); a difficult pogo escape that he won by accidentally launching his lower half out of the box while his upper half expired quietly within (hey, win’s a win!); a very unfair pogo jump full of harpoons and arrows; a very unfair glass break full of limb loss and regret; a very unfair moped run full of “I never USE these characters how the fuck do you – DID YOU PUT AN INVISIBLE WALL OVER THE WIN?!” (yes, but apparently you could still win under the right circumstances – not that Gray actually knows what those are); another unfair pogo jump, this one just full of harpoons (Gray managed to use them to swing onto the winning area); and a joke level where he got constantly jabbed in the ass and groin by spears. Because that’s a running gag in these videos by now. XD Always gotta love these episodes!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just had to get in a pair of ask replies over on Valice Multiverse, nice and easy. :)

Okay, I literally just jogged in place for a few seconds to try and burn off a bit of this nervous energy -- ugh, I hate it when I get like this. . .hopefully I can exhaust myself enough to counteract it before heading to bed! Let's set up the non-cleaning, apparently-somewhat-rainy Saturday to-do list before I attempt to do that --

1. Free Writing Day -- probably should clean up that one other tumblr draft I have

2. Watch the three OXBox list videos in my Watch Later and keep up on YouTube Subs

3. Play Sims 4 and work on my building save

4. Get in a workout

Yeah, I'm far enough ahead on my Newcrest Adventures updates that I'm good to do some work on a building project (I've been on-and-off working on a house) -- plus, given that there might be some sort of career progress bug affecting my game (as seen with Wheatley only ever getting the first patient of his latest shifts right), probably best to stay away from actually playing families for a little bit. I wish I could figure out what was going on. . . Meeeh. Maybe one day the Sims team will release more than one lousy bugfix at a time.

Not something to worry about tonight, though. Let's go see what I can do to keep myself occupied for roughly the next hour and a half. Night all!
