Less Rushed Thursday Evening
Feb. 17th, 2022 11:28 pmWhich I am grateful for -- having that darn ship meme sorted in my queue makes all the difference. :p Anyway, my day in a nutshell:
Work – Quietish – I spent most of the morning looking up credit card-related nonsense and getting annoyed that so little of it had been fixed yet. And then the afternoon was mostly catching up on exceptions and cleaning up stuff on the database. All while my coworkers whispered in the background. >( Look, I just – it feels sometimes like I’m the only one actually trying to do WORK, is all. Annoying. . .
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another round on the bike, and we have finally reached the Oxventure Music Video, and its associated livestream! The music video (and single) is called “Literally Everybody Else In The World,” and it’s basically a love song from the Oxventurers to their DM, awww. With Dob on keyboard, Corazon and Prudence on guitars, Merilwen on bell-stick, and Egbert on drums. It’s very sweet and very funny – and for charity! This was recorded to help raise money for the mental health charity Mind. The livestream was intended as part donation drive too, with the gang taking donations to the charity while doing stuff like answering questions about favorite Oxventure moments (like Corazon standing up to his dad – or getting covered in spiders XD) – pictionary and cocktails are on the docket for later in the stream as well! And it’s worth noting that I’m only 25 minutes into the stream – and by that time, fans (and some friends and family – Ellen’s sister got a shoutout) had already donated about 4/5’s of the original ten thousand pounds goal! :D I look forward to seeing how far the total creeps up over the course of the next four hours. . .
2. Edit Chapter 4 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – we’re through Alice’s visit to the Surfside Diner, learning about Lily’s visit and picking up her things, and her trip to Kilpatrick’s, getting his side quest to look for the missing Carson and discovering that all paths right now seem to be leading to Health Cross Clinic. Well, once she finds this one specific red Lightningbird car, that is. . .good thing there’s a parking garage nearby! Up to page 12 out of 46 in the Writer count – slowly but surely making progress!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – simple two-in, two-out today –
A) Firstly, we had James Turner and another episode of “Every Lot Challenge Challenge!” Most of it was the usual chaos – the boys attending school, Semaj trying to get another raise at work (and spamming his Charisma skill to do it), Jasmin working her way through her final semester at university, the butler putting clean clothes on every available surface, the Zoomers delivery person bringing 99 chicken stir frys to the house. XD The highlights of the episode were –
I. Micah and Greyson, the second set of twins, aged up into teenagers! Micah is now Active as well as an Animal Enthusiast, and got the “Beach Life” aspiration and some piercings; Grey is now an Art Lover as well as Proper, and got the “Painter Extraordinaire” aspiration and a shaggy haircut.
II. Chi and Donnell, the first set of twins, got all their scout badges! This required a lot of dancing, a lot of workout videos, a lot of programming, and – for the Outdoor Adventurer badge – a trip to Willow Creek in the wee hours of the morning to grill, fish, and look for frogs. They did it, though, and with their success removed another challenge – “Dog Hangout” is gone, and the amount of strays hanging out and dying on the lot has been roughly cut in half! (Seriously, James has got a whole pet cemetery along the side of the house now. It’s vaguely depressing!)
III. JASMIN FUCKING DIED. Okay, so, Jasmin became an elder fairly recently, which – James was GOING to age her back down with Carl’s version of the Potion of Youth, but he doesn’t have access to that right now (game update = no mods), so he just left her as is. Which would have been fine, IF he hadn’t decided she and Semaj needed to reconnect. . .
And IF he hadn’t decided that reconnection should involve rocket woohoo. Jasmin collapsed from overexertion, and Semaj’s desperate pleas and demands fell on deaf ears. So Jasmin is now a pretty golden urn, James is down a way to remove lot traits (we were going to spin the wheel if she got A or A+), and everyone’s pretty bummed out. Hopefully the final challenge of this LP will be bringing her back! Poor Jasmin, gone before her time. . .
B) And secondly, we had Call Me Kevin playing WorldBox – God Simulator with the “Wheel of Misfortune” picking countries for him to inflict terrible disasters on! The game has a few races for you to choose from – the orcs got Europe, the humans got Africa and Australia, the elves got South America, and the dwarves got North America and Russia. With that in play, Kevin started spinning, locating countries, and WRECKING them! Spain got a twister that just roamed the map for ages; Turkey was heat-lasered off the map; Ethiopia was taken over by bandits armed with arrows and bombs; a war was started near Japan because Japan hadn’t been properly populated yet; and a super-pumpkin placed near Florida because Cuba was destroyed when Kevin used his god powers to kill the evil wizards he’d put on an island near Japan who were now fighting the snowmen he’d put in South America. ...This is a weird game. XD Things ended with Kevin using the Tsar Bomba to just clear the map of everything but the “GOD” islands he’d created and populated with dogs (to confuse people) and dropping a few lonely humans there to rebuild civilization. :p Fun times!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – two ask replies for Valice Multiverse, nice and simple, yaaay.
Yeah, hooray, nothing too stressful! Just kind of annoying in parts. *sigh* Well, tomorrow's already Friday, which is good. Though we're due some thunderstorms and high winds overnight, which is -- less good. Hopefully nothing too serious happens! Night all!
