crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Yeah, uh, my entire day has been off-kilter, and I can blame it mostly on one thing: not waking up properly until 10:28 AM this morning. (I'd woken up earlier because of various limbs falling asleep thanks to the way I was lying, but then gone right back to sleep.) Waking up that late meant that my breakfast was late, starting to clean my room was late, and -- yeah. Basically it's been a day of little annoyances as a result, and a day where my to-do list suffered for it:

1. Clean my room and do the monthly wash: I’m calling this three-quarters check – waking up at 10:28 AM and then having to work my way around my parents in the tiny space we’re currently calling our kitchen as we wait for the final cabinets to get installed to get my breakfast smoothie meant that I started all of this about an hour later than usual, and that and other interruptions made me go “right, the majority of the blankets can wait – I’m just washing my sheets and my bathrobe.” Room clean started at 11:30 AM and ended at 3 PM (with a break for lunch and getting dishes done and putting away the laundry my mom was doing); sheets and bathrobe were finally done at – well, I got them out of the dryer around 7:45 PM because Mom and I kept forgetting about the laundry. *sigh* So yeah. Not a great day on that front. At least my room wasn’t really all that dusty. . .

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and get some stuff out of the Watch Later: Check! Got three videos from Plumbella out of the WL, and the one from Gray out of the Subs –

A) Started with the Plumbella triple threat:

I. “My unpopular opinions about The Sims 5 (so sorry i'm just scared)” – Plumbella does one of her PowerPoint presentation videos about her unpopular Sims 5 opinions! Mainly she doesn’t want it to have seasons, pets, or anything like that when the base game comes out (she doesn’t trust EA not to spread the people working on it too thin by adding that stuff early – she wants a SOLID base game experience); she doesn’t want it to be free-to-play when it comes out (because she can already SMELL the microtransactions); CAS shouldn’t only be click-and-drag (this is just because she herself sucks at that form of CAS and she wants the sliders back for people like her); and she doesn’t want game packs (she doesn’t feel like they add enough value to the game and they take away from expansion packs). I can agree with all of these (especially the “if it’s free-to-play they will charge us for EVERYTHING” fear) except MAYBE the “no game packs” one, if only because I feel game packs have been super good for those occults which got them. The tight focus on vampires, spellcasters, and werewolves puts them miles ahead of aliens, plantsims, and mermaids! I mean, I wouldn’t MIND full expansion packs for occults, but if they continued to come out in smaller packs, I wouldn’t object either.

II. “I still hate The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu with a burning passion” – Plumbella decides to go back to Batuu for a video to see if her feelings have changed on the pack since her review. The answer is no. XD She is just SO UNIMPRESSED with this pack and its world, where everything is a set and everyone is wearing a mask to make them look like an alien. She hates that pretty much everything is a rabbit hole, she hates having to do multi-stage text adventures off in the void, she hates that there’s no sense of accomplishment – she just cheated her way through the end of her aspiration because she was done dealing with the pack. And I don’t blame her! The pack being such an obvious, ill-advised cash grab meant that I’ve never touched it and I never will. I have better things to spend my money on.

III. “Building a house using ONLY custom content” – Plumbella thinks “I have not played with custom content in ages,” downloads a shit-ton from The Sims Resource, and then uses it all to build a house! Specifically, she ended up going with a sort of “old renovated church” vibe and did a more modern kitchen and bathroom, a spooky living room (with plenty of Halloween décor), and a bedroom upstairs that was exactly the kind of thing she wanted for her own bedroom, complete with an autumnal forest backdrop. :p It came out quite nice and makes me wish I’d gotten the chance to work on my own build today in Sims 4. :(

B) And then it was over to the Subs for GrayStillPlays and “1 bullet vs 1,000 people in GTA 5!” More Alex pain for Gray, with a pair of boards featuring strange guns and split-second timing! The first was the obstacle course with the deletion gun – Gray had to work his way across an obstacle course (featuring such things as multiple jumps onto platforms with barriers, a moving ramp that you had to get into just the right position, a tightrope with windmills, and multiple “back to the beginning” teleporters) with a gun that allowed him to delete things – for example, he could delete the windmills on the tightrope portion! Or he could delete the floor in one section to get himself through a hidden gap. The problem was, he could also delete the REGULAR floor, meaning that he had to be VERY careful with his aim if he wanted to complete the board. His reward was getting to shoot a bunch of clowns and fall through the center of the earth a couple of times. XD And then the second one was the Hamster Wheel Of Regret, in which Gray had a teleporter gun, three platforms – orange, red, and black – and a target with orange, red, and black arms on it. Gray had to shoot the arms of the target to teleport between the platforms to avoid the obstacles (death cars, wind turbines, helicopters, etc) coming at him at faster and faster speeds, and find his way into the teleporter that would free him from his spinny hell. As you might imagine, this took some doing. XD Gray died to the spinning blades of various props a LOT. XD He did eventually figure it out, though, and was allowed to shoot a bunch of body builders with the gun, teleporting himself into a pool and them into the air above it. XD Weird but fun! Typical Alex stuff.

3. Play Sims 4 and either do some more building or play through SimCity Founding with the Valicer crew: No check on either – by the time I finished my cleaning, it was 3 PM, as stated, and we ended up playing beanbags at 4 PM (see below), meaning there just wasn’t enough time for me to fit in playing the game around the other stuff I wanted to do. (Not to mention, I’m still unsure on the status of some of my mods for the latest patch. . .) I did do some Sims-related stuff, though:

I. Got all the screenshots ready for the next Chill Save update (and noticed I haven’t been giving Alice that much love lately! The problem is, leveling up werewolf stuff tends to be slow and really repetitive. . .still, gotta start including her more in the pictures)

II. Cleaned out my Mods folder of some CC I didn’t want anymore or was broken (I’ve been meaning to do this for a bit, and figured now was as good a time as any – got rid of a bunch of Fallout stuff I downloaded more because it was cool than because I saw myself using it, and dumped a broken hanging seat from the Cottage Garden Fan Stuff Pack and some broken clothes from Plumbella)

4. Work on Blades in the Dark Valicer stuff: Check, though a bit of a minor one – I reread some of the book and chose some other special abilities that the gang would get during their adventures (like Alice getting better healing and the “Devil’s Footsteps” Lurk ability to go leaping across rooftops, and Smiler getting the “Physicker” ability to become the team doctor), plus solidifying Victor’s “rival” as his parents, who are only too happy to try and drag him back to his unhappy life and force him into another unwanted marriage. I generally work on this stuff when I want a low-pressure “just fiddling around with stuff” day anyway, so I’m not gonna penalize myself this time for not doing a lot!

Additionally:

-->Nice day and things had dried out some more, so we did indeed play beanbags – and Mom was just on FIRE today, winning four out of the five rounds! O.O I got lucky in the fourth with a ten and a five just when I needed them, but poor Dad could barely hit the broad side of a barn today. Final scores were me 3-2-2-W-2; Dad 2-3-3-2-3; Mom W-W-W-3-W. Damn. Just glad I managed ONE win!

So not exactly a total loss, but -- ugh, I feel like if I'd woken up even just a half-hour earlier, I would have felt more on-track and less against the clock (and less irritated by stuff like Mom giving Dad and me the wrong sandwiches at lunch, and him getting pissy about it (I can eat lettuce, he can't because of his dentures)) all day. *sigh* Hoping to make Sunday better --

1. Keep up with the FO4 Playthrough Progression

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and Jon's latest Fallout video

3. Play Fallout 4, get the Destroyer gear from Daisy, then start working through Mass Fusion to the Strength Bobblehead

4. Work on tumblr drafts

5. Get in a workout

Though, of course, I also have to remember that Mom and I are decorating for Halloween tomorrow as well. . .hopefully that won't take too long, but I have to figure it into my time. At least that should be fun. . .night all!
