crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)
Yeah, I've been having some trouble reminding myself today is THURSDAY, not Friday, because of the long weekend. XD I mean, it's not the worst problem to have, but still -- trying to keep my days of the week straight! XD Oh man, dunno how I'm gonna handle the long break for Christmas at the end of December. . .problem for future me. In the meantime, here's how my THURSDAY has gone --

Work – Ended this short week on a quiet day – supervisor sent my list of outstanding issues to the credit card people (didn’t hear back from them, of course), and I spent the majority of my day doing duplicates (with occasional forays into issuing refunds and write-offs and updating someone’s profile). And ignoring more political discourse behind me. *sigh* Very glad to be out for the weekend!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, finishing off “Dicebreaker and Outside Xbox in 'Quest on Praxus Prime' - Lasers and Feelings actual live play!” (Mostly – my workout ended with roughly six minutes to go, so I decided I could just finish those off after supper.) Jet managed to send a sneaky message to everyone on his communicator using SpaceWhatsApp, saying that they should start blasting on his signal (sticking out his tongue after Simm asked what the signal was), but before anything could be done, the chief science officer of Zorgon came inside! He congratulated his guards on capturing all of the Consortium scum from the ship – Lexi tried to bluff that she was just Space Amazon, while Chi and Jet tried to bluff that there were actually three other people from the ship running around, but Simm asking everyone what they were talking about led to them all being restrained (after a bit of confusion). The Head Science Alien assured them that, if they just helped them out with the quantum tunnel (which had a lot of tunnel but basically no quantum), they would be released – Jet managed to successfully bluff that he, and indeed all the team, were science officers and thus got them some time to consult – Jet was like “let’s just sabotage the hell out of this thing so they can’t use it,” but Lexi had a better idea – make a smaller, weaker, flimsier quantum tunnel and use it to get to Praxis Unplugged, the moon that Zorgon was hiding out on (with only a very small security detail, as he wanted to keep his presence there on the down-low) and take him down! Jet was all for it, and Chi managed to get a good distraction going by getting Head Science Alien to take him down to the tunnel itself so he could “check it for structural stability” by, you know, punching it. XD Lexi with a good Lasers roll managed to make the quantum device that the tunnel needed and reset the target to the moon. The Head Science Alien came back satisfied with Chi’s performance and giggling to himself about his sudden but inevitable betrayal, and the console to control the new quantum tunnel was powered up!

Cue a very confused Zorgon showing up on one of the many screens around, in the middle of writing his latest song. XD The gang, realizing they were about to be made (and probably murdered), sprinted for the tunnel, struggling their way into their VAC suits along the way – everyone rolled at least one success except poor Lexi, who stumbled right out the gate. Fortunately Jet was able to help her back onto her feet, and, looking VERY cool (as per a Laser Feelings question from Johnny), the gang was able to get through the tunnel without being shot! They found themselves on Praxis Unplugged, right in front of Zorgon’s bunker (very clearly marked XD) – they got in, swapped around their VAC suits for Zorgon-flavored ones, then got into Zorgon’s private quarters!

As befitted this goof of a villain, it was full of guitars and stuffed animals, and when he spun around from his computer set-up, it was revealed he hadn’t bothered putting on pants. XD Chi ruined any element of surprise the gang had by trying (and very badly failing) to smash a guitar (did you know Chi was a LASERS-focused character at 4? I sure as hell didn’t!), so Jet and Lexi decided to just dogpile on the guy. Simm, however, demurred to run –

So Chi just picked her up and yeeted her at the guy. XD She smacked him right in the head and pinned him with her weight, leaving the others free to deal with the small contingent of guards that rushed in at Zorgon’s call. Jet managed to stun two of them, while Lexi JUST managed to control her new killer laser cutter to destroy another’s gun – the fourth guy ducked behind a stuffed bunny and started firing blind, managing to tag Chi (throwing him into a guitar that PROPERLY smashed, hooray) before Jet finally managed to take him out with another stun. Simm, meanwhile, kept the struggling Zorgon restrained, asking him politely not to move and then slapping him to calm him down when he kept squirming. It was a pretty nasty slap, and left him a whimpering, curled-up mess. XD

And while all this was going on, Chi managed to recover and get to the console, which, of course, he proceeded to punch. One punch, thanks to a Laser Feelings roll, spit out a CD of the absolutely AWFUL album that Zorgon had been recording (the moment Wheels started describing it, Lexi was like BLACKMAIL BLACKMAIL XD) – the other caused like a dozen error messages and revealed that the base was about to collapse! The gang quickly tied up Zorgon with his own guitar string and got him to piggy-back on Chi’s VAC suit as they hurried out –

To see the ISS Raptor descending on the moon! Which opened to reveal the gleaming visage of the recovered Captain Darcy! He was of course a total “action hero” stereotype, congratulating his crew on capturing Zorgon –

Before making the mistake of noting that Zorgon owed him money. Chi, who’d started this adventure thinking Darcy was dirty, promptly ran up and punched him, hitting him square on the chin and knocking all his space crime stuff out of his pockets. Even Jet was disgusted by how much space heroin the guy had on him. XD And so the adventure ended with the crew dragging both Darcy and Zorgon to the brig before flying off triumphantly back to Consortium space so they could both stand trial for their crimes! Simm was pleased, though she didn’t go so far as to say she felt pleased. XD It was a fun little adventure, even if it wasn’t EXACTLY what I was expecting, and I’m glad I watched it!

2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has made it into Confession, but instead of finding Venus right away, she has run into everyone’s unfavorite ghoul, the nasally Patty! Who is only too keen to start dropping the “vampire” word right where everyone in the club can hear her before asking Alice about Kent. Alice has managed to talk her into discussing things more privately in the bathroom – and I left it with her dropping the bombshell that The Last Round crowd basically asked her to kill Patty. Patty – is not going to take this well, as you might imagine. (I even have extra game dialogue I can use – turns out she has a lot more to say if you say you don’t know Kent and then try to rile her up!)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Partial check – used the evening to catch up with a video that I’ve been meaning to get to for a while, plus one bonus –

A) Started kind of early with a video I spotted in the Recommendeds – someone sneakily recording their experience on The Smiler circa 2014! From a seat OTHER than the front row, too. Pretty good watch, though it was fascinating to hear how much the sound distorted from how FAST the coaster takes all its various twists and turns! Damn – part of me wants to ride this thing, part of me is certain I’d throw up. XD

B) And then it was time for Call Me Kevin and that video that’s been sitting in the Subs for the past few days – “PS2 Prisoner of Azkaban is an amazing fever dream!” Yeah, since I finished writing a bit early and I have a long weekend, I figured I could spend the evening watching that. The graphics have finally gotten better – the characters actually kind of look like themselves now, instead of strange blocky creatures wearing their faces like masks – and in this entry you play as all three of the Golden Trio, swapping between them to use the various spells they’ve learned against obstacles (or do actions only they can do – for some reason Hermione is the only one who can get through small gaps, and Ron the only one who can open secret passages with his “Weasley Touch”) – but the basics are the same as the previous games: almost every class is a death trap, requiring you to do a parkour obstacle course and fight off strange enemies (like some sort of zombie knight brigade) to learn even the most basic of spells; Ron is exhausted in the middle of the afternoon for some reason; gathering potion ingredients requires horrible minigames (generally featuring flying on Buckbeak or getting poisoned by doxy bites); you can find random objects sitting around for house points; there’s forced stealth sections (and in this one, if you get caught by Snape, he just openly coughs right into your face because they put in the wrong voice file – Kevin kept blaming him for his being sick during recording); and the actual plot of the book/movie is compressed into like five cutscenes overall because damn it, there is more parkour to do. XD Always amusing to watch Kevin play though, and do things like have Ron drag Harry TOWARD a Dementor so he can be the main character, or gush over how much he loves Hagrid in each entry, or complain about how dumb the AI is when he’s not controlling a character, or list off all the stuff that the trio could totally sue the school for. XD Glad to have it done!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just one ask reply over on Valice Multiverse, but that’s all I need to tick this item off. :P

Not too shabby -- and now I have some extra time to catch up on videos and such, yay. And hopefully get some Sims 4 in (I REALLY want to start the Valicer Granite Falls vacation!) and make some more progress on my stories (slowly but surely!). We'll see how it all goes -- night all!
