Late Wednesday Update
Jan. 3rd, 2024 11:55 pmBut then again, you all know what I'm like now. :p Here's the list for the day --
Work – Well, the traffic going in was pretty fucking miserable, I can tell you that much – pretty sure there were some accidents that were holding things up and forcing people to reroute. The day itself was all right – my other coworker was back and ended up taking care of the rest of the GLs, and the credit card computer was working correctly again, allowing me to actually take care of that one person from yesterday who had an update. Still dealing with ridiculous errors involving trying to update certain credit card pledges. *grumble* Spent most of the rest of the day working on obituaries and exceptions returned from our processors. Like I said, not a horrible day, but having to deal with the commute isn’t doing great things for my mood.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, back with the GrayStillPlays compilation video “Drawing people into 100 uncomfortable situations!” Finished off the Sneak Thief portion (where Gray became the world’s speediest burglar and enjoyed karate-chopping guards and smacking them with folding chairs, Minecraft pickaxes, and fish more than he really should have); got through the Save Balls portion (where Gray was required to draw many bizarre objects to save various round doges and Pepes from bee and piranha attacks – he alternated between using as little ink as possible to earn stars and drawing whatever human organs felt appropriate to the situation); and I’m mostly through Draw To Save The Stickman (where Gray is drawing spikes to save sticks from spikes, hand grenades to stop someone being eaten by the world’s most dangerous goldfish, and malnourished pigeons to stop people from being shot). We’ll finish that off and see the last couple of games Gray picked for this walk down memory lane tomorrow!
2. Write Moose’s Birthday Gift Fic: Check! :D Which is good, as said birthday is only a week out. Moose gave me a prompt idea today, kindly, and I’ve run with it to create what I hope is a cute little BTTF fic about George and Lorraine. :p Hope you like next week, Moose!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Again, just the one GrayStillPlays video tonight – “Which car has the best top speed in GTA 5?” This was a three-part challenge testing all of the cars with the best top speeds in the game, to see who could win the most and thus prove itself the best speedy car. The tests were as follows:
I. Top Speed On Smooth Road – This description was very misleading, let me tell you. Yes, the road was smooth – but it also got smaller and smaller as the challenge went on, until Gray was cruising down a tightrope, AND there was a coil of wind turbines turning right next to it, ready to send Gray to space unless his timing was PERFECT. XD The challenge was to find the car that could get up to 134 mph – only that car could get teleported over to the checkpoint and the next challenge. Gray gave all the various super-cars, F-1 races, and electric vehicles a spin, but the only one capable of getting up to 134 mph without using a fake “curb boost” by going slightly off the road (followed immediately by going fully off the road) was the “Italy” super-car with the red and green racing stripes! So yeah, if you’re looking to speed past wind turbines, this is your car.
II. Top Speed On Uneven Road – This description, by contrast, was right on the money – there was a road, and it was very uneven. Mostly because it was covered by a variety of geometric almost-flat shapes and small walls that you had to dodge in order to reach the end. This baby was timed – sixteen seconds to make it around the shapes before the wall came up and Gray went flying toward the checkpoint (and possibly glitched into the ground). This one was really tough, especially since the car Gray expected to win, the F-1 open-wheeled racer, couldn’t QUITE make it in time. The winner ended up being the “Durasad” Ocelot-brand electric car, and that only after Gray learned how to do the course perfectly AND how to sneak in some curb boost. Damn.
III. Top Speed In Reverse – So the contest was between Italy and Durasad – and this last challenge was the nastiest of them all. A long, winding, timed (21 seconds) course that, as the title said, Gray had to do IN REVERSE. Because the road was absolutely COVERED in stop circles. Gray ended up trying all of the cars out of curiosity as to what their top speeds in reverse were – almost every car was about 36-40 mph, nowhere NEAR fast enough to make it to the end in time. So who was the winner in the end?
The Durasad electric car, who had a top speed in reverse of over 80 mph! Though before it could win, Gray had to figure out how to do the whole course in reverse without spinning out or falling off the sides. And then, after a lucky break where he spun out right near the end but still made it over the wall, he went for the win circle –
AND DISCOVERED ALEX HAD PUT A STOP STICK RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE JUMP. Because Subscriber Shaun had made a comment to that effect and he thought it was funny. Gray was FURIOUS. XD But he went back and he did the challenge properly and he took the final jump into the win in reverse and won anyway. Probably with permanently increased blood pressure because all of his fans are mean. XD Great stuff!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Technically N/A, as I had nothing to put up for this week, but I did get a little bit of a start on the pictures for the next Chill Valicer Save update – specifically, the five that I took during my first attempt to update the house a little (featuring things like recoloring Moory’s shed, reorganizing the greenhouse, and penning up Toothy). I figure those can be their own post, then the rest of the update can be focused on Egg Day and the trip to Moonwood Mill. Hopefully I can get some more pictures done for that tomorrow!
*shrugs* Not bad, I suppose! I'm at least keeping up with everything that I need to keep up on. And I got some good cuddle time with Smileon too. :p And now it's time to head to bed and prepare to do it all over again tomorrow. (Well, hopefully not the traffic, but yeah.) Night all!
