crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Been doing my best to keep up with writing and tumblr queueing and all that -- but I did accomplish everything on my to-do list, yay:

Work – Quieter day – no political talk behind me, happily. Another handful of credit card calls; the biweekly chat with the credit card people (got a couple of things fixed on the call, but who knows about the rest of it); did some more obituary stuff. *shrug* Could have been better, could have been worse. At least tomorrow’s Friday!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike tonight, getting through the following –

A) The end of Oxventure: Deadlands – “Dead Man’s Worth, Part II!” We picked up with Garnet managing to drag Delacy and herself into Simon’s Shooting Irons, getting them into cover. She then turned, lit a stick of Delacy’s dynamite, and threw it at the half-exploded statue Bellows was hiding behind (she was gonna do a cool throw-and-shoot move, but Andy warned her that throwing was at a -2 penalty because she was doing multiple things in one turn, and shooting would be at a -4, so she decided to just light it beforehand as he suggested). That brought us into round two of combat, with Andy dealing out some fresh cards to everyone (as apparently you refresh initiative order every round in this game). A couple of Bellows’s rooftop gunmen got to go first, and took a few shots at the store – fortunately, they didn’t hit either Garnet or Delacy, though they did take out the front window of the place. Bellows himself managed to shake off his shock at being shot and nearly blown up a couple of times to make a run for it when the dynamite came sailing toward him – Delacey, seeing a chance, plucked up his courage and took a blast at him with Rooster through the shattered window. Despite his wounds, he managed a hit, but unfortunately Bellows was able to soak the damage and made it to the other side of the street. His other gunmen continued blasting away at the shop with no success –

Which brought us to Garnet. Who, deciding now was NOT the time to hide her Huckster powers, pulled out her cards and cast Burst as a giant spinning wheel of sparks at however many gunmen she could hit. She succeeded in this aim – and then proceeded to roll SO WELL on the damage that Andy allowed her to take out three gunmen and basically turn them into ASH. O.O Delacy was – more than a little startled by this, as you might imagine. XD However, that still left Bellows and one gunman –

But on the other hand, it was Nate’s turn. Who promptly strode up to Bellows with his shotgun and blasted him (making me believe that Andy did that soak roll specifically SO Nate could kill his murderer). He promptly declared himself the winner of the duel. XD The final gunman promptly surrendered, and fortunately for all, Delacy decided NOT to kill him, as all he really wanted to do was hug Nate, aww. :) Garnet helped Delacy out of the store, signaling for the doctor while Delacy embraced his new grandfather figure – and then put his hand straight through the hole in Nate’s chest while trying to figure out how he was still alive. XD Garnet said that she could explain later, but Delacy had to be patched up first – Delacy told the doctor there was jerky in it for him should he do a good job, and the doctor immediately got distracted by the idea of opium-dusted meat sticks, almost coming to the conclusion it was inside Delacy. XD He did indeed patch the kid up, though, and after a brief misunderstanding over what Delacy meant when he told Garnet “nuggets” (apparently her first thought was “aww, kid wants chicken nuggies”), the trio headed up to Bellows’s gaudy mansion, kicked the doors open, and claimed their prize money! And left the mansion open for the delighted residents to strip, much like they had Bellows’s corpse (Nate was slightly annoyed nobody had tried to strip HIS corpse, only to be like “oh, right” when a kid told him he was too stinky). And so the story ended with the trio returning to the stage they’d used to get into town (with the driver just coming out of his jerky haze), and Garnet explaining to Delacy and Nate the nature of her Huckster powers, and what exactly Nate was now. . .

Except Andy thought it would be funnier to leave the actual explanation for later and ended the episode on, basically, “he’s a Harrowed now, bye.” ANDY! *shakehead* Fortunately for me, I have the internet and I can tell you that Nate is now essentially a zombie whose soul is in constant struggle with a minor demon called a manitou – he gets cool magic powers and super-healing from the demon, but it’s always trying to take over his body to do cruel acts. So THAT should be interesting going forward. . .

B) “13 Things That are Actually Overpowered in Baldur’s Gate 3” by Toyhouze! As indicated by the title, this was a list of things in the game (spells, objects, and sneaky little hacks) that TH thought were overpowered in the absolute best way. From using spare backpacks as bombs by filling them with explosive items, flinging them at enemies so they break and scatter those items everywhere, then setting those items off somehow to explode everyone; to using cat familiars to squeeze through bars into places the more humanoid characters can’t reach (unless they THEMSELVES can turn into cats with Wildshape); to abusing the Silence spell to do noisy things without alerting guards; to carrying around a candle to have an easy way to apply extra fire damage to weapons (just dip them in the tiny flame!); to just making sure Featherfall is active as often as possible to keep your party safe from fall damage. A very interesting list – I really gotta go back through all the tip videos and such I’ve watched on this game and make some notes about things not to forget while I’m playing. . .

C) “Sleeping with companions with sleep disorders [baldur's gate 3 animatic]” by Cutdry! Just them making a little BG3 animation to someone’s comedy bit about having to sleep with three friends who all have different sleep disorders (Gale got the sleep apnea; Wyll the moany snoring; and a dragonborn who MIGHT have been the Dark Urge got the night terrors that made him scream; the narrator, who had insomnia, got to be Astarion). A nice little minute-long chuckle to end the session. :)

2. Continue writing “Start At The Beginning. . .Sort Of”: Check – Emily just frightened all of the wedding guests out of the Everglot home (and the two elder Everglots up into their bedroom), but unfortunately, Barkis managed to escape before she could do anything him – and with Victoria in tow. And while they’ve tracked him to the alley behind the Everglot house, he’s just about to reveal he’s got a knife to poor Victoria’s throat. Things are getting tense around here! I’m loving it :D

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one from Josh Way today: “Fun With Shorts: The Story of Television Part1!” As indicated, this was the first part of a 1956 short talking about the invention of television and the part RCA played in said invention. Josh had a lot to make fun of here, from the narrator waxing poetically about how antennas against the skyline define this age of man (“this is supposed to be depressing, right?”), to the goofy idea of television being a way to “extend sight” (instead of being a way to watch goofy entertainment and mind-numbing ads), to the absolutely AWFUL line reads from RCA’s CEO as he stared at the cue cards just offscreen and awkwardly stumbled his way through a fake conversation about the invention of the picture tube with his colleague (“this must have been a brutal day of filming”). XD Good stuff, as always! I’m glad he’s still willing to do the “Fun With Shorts” stuff – while I like “Sketchy” and “Screen Time” and all that, the shorts are the reason I subscribed in the first place, sooo. . . :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check –

Victor Luvs Alice – Took longer than anticipated, as I had to look some stuff up, but I finished up my draft of the “Valicer In The Dark Meets Baldur’s Gate 3” Not-Incorrect Quote collection and threw that in the queue, along with a starter post for this week’s Song Saturday, featuring “Make Your Move” by the Aviators (they’re a group that does music inspired by video games, and that’s their BG3 song – it’s really good). I’ll finish that on up tomorrow!

Valice Multiverse – Another anon ask for the “love life questions” meme, asking if it’s awkward in an OT3 for two members to end up holding hands while trying to grab the third’s butt. Smiler immediately told Alice they had something to try while Alice laughed and Victor went to go stand with his back to a wall. XD AKA, it’s not awkward in this OT3!

*whew* Made it through another day! And to be honest, even if that "VITD Meets BG3" Not-Incorrect Quotes post took longer than I wanted, I had a LOT of fun making it, so, worth. XD And now I have to go to bed and get some sleep -- one more day to get through! Night all!
