crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)
Yeah, I don't think I handled my time very well this evening -- mostly because I got caught up in updating some stuff on AO3, which distracted me from everything ELSE I wanted to do tonight, and -- yeah. I did manage to get everything done on my to-do list, it just all perhaps took longer than it should have --

Work – Back to quiet times at work – I took a credit card update call; told one lady that I was sorry, but we’re in a processing pause now, and if she wants to make a pledge, I’ll have to call her back once I have the all-clear; remailed a few returned letters; did a little roster maintenance (merging duplicates and marking people deceased); and matched some ID numbers to people’s pledge cards and suchlike. And did puzzles taken from the paper. *shrug* Could have been worse – at least I have stuff I can do to keep busy!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “I made driving 1000x more dangerous!” Got through the end of Zombie Run Annihilation (with Gray finishing the game by plowing over zombies in a fully-upgraded thresher whose front end kept flipping up into windshield); the entirety of Draw Car Game (or something like that – this was a game where you had to draw simple “cars” to get through various courses and their obstacles, and Gray’s penchant for drawing weird shit kept screwing him over because it took him a while to realize that the wheels got attached to the first and last point on the line that he drew – on the flip side, he also learned that putting in minimum effort, like doing one dot, would actually get you really far in this game); and a good chunk of Draw & Break It! (a game where you must draw your own ridiculous vehicle to race against someone else on various courses featuring walls to knock down, dangly sections to slide through, and big old leaps that could smash your car apart – Gray likes this one just because to get extra bonuses, you yeet your guy at the end, and it features a broken bone meter that pops up right after they land XD). We’ll finish off that one and see what the final video in the set is tomorrow!

2. Work on the final post edit of Chapter 3 of “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of”: Check – though, as you might guess, this entry is the reason I had such time management problems tonight. Still, I finished the edit, and the chapter is up! You may read it here if you are so inclined. I also updated the previous chapters – the first two just with the new ellipsis style I’m using for this fic (so it’s consistent between chapters), while I tweaked some dialogue and such in the third (some of Victor’s lines didn’t quite sound like him, and I wanted to add in a line from Smiler implying the Advocates had specially designed their pneumatic needle to hurt LESS after Gigs told me that her husband said they can hurt MORE). Nothing that should require a reread though. Next up, we work on getting Chapter 2 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” finished and ready for general consumption!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays tonight, with “Every website I visit gets weirder!” Another one of his “I look at weird games for your amusement and rank them according to how weird I personally feel they are” compilations, this time with an emphasis on games that you can play in your chosen browser! And he got through quite a few in the 23-odd minute video –

I. Dog Poo Golf – A surprisingly-good parody of a Wii Sports game (the graphics are very on-point), where you play as a guy tossing a bag of his dog’s poo across a beautiful green island in a quest to get it into the bin in as few throws as possible. Gray found it very amusing but not particularly weird, so he gave it 2/10 on the scale.

II. Wow’en Wilson – A quiz where you have to guess the Owen Wilson movie by listening to his trademark “wows” – after seriously trying for the first three questions and only getting one out of three, Gray ended up with a final score of six out of ten from random clicking. XD Gray gave it 3/10 weirdness simply because the creators included an awful mouth animation on the Owen Wilson head whenever you listened to a “wow.”

III. I Love You Like A Fat Lady Loves Apples – A simple game where you control the arm of a fat lady, making her eat apples and beckoning some fishnet-stockinged leg to kick more toward her. With every apple she eats, she becomes fatter and fatter – at least, until a mystery arm stabs her in the back and makes the apples come tumbling out, reducing her back to regular size. Gray was like “yup, this shit be weird” and handed over a 7/10.

IV. Find The Invisible Cow – A game where you locate an invisible cow on the page by basically doing “hot and cold” with a guy yelling “cow cow cow” over and over again – the more excited he gets, the closer you are to the cow! Gray liked the concept (and the deeply uninterested “moo” the cow let out upon being found), but didn’t think it was THAT weird, so he gave it only a 4/10.

V. Elastic Man – A page which allows you to deform the head of Morty from Rick & Morty by yanking on various bits of his face and stretching them out extremely far. Gray was delighted by just how far the shit stretched (he could see Morty’s stretched flesh in his second monitor!) and how juicy the sound effects were, but thought it would have been better if he could have torn the skin right off. So it only got a 5/10 on the scale.

VI. Meshcapade (I think, I didn’t quite catch what Gray called this one) – An online character creator (Gray likened it to the one from Rust) that lets you morph the character in truly DISTURBING ways through the use of lots and lots of sliders – some regular, some experimental. Gray had a fantastic time manipulating his poor model and turning her top half practically 2-D before managing to make her into something akin to a Xenomorph – but even with that, he didn’t consider the website itself to be that weird. Probably because, if you’re not him, you could use it as a bog-standard character creator. As such, it got a mere 3.5/10 weirdness – shame, I would have personally rated it at least a 5/10!

VII. Blob Opera – A page where you can make a quartet of colorful blobs sing opera by setting them to sing specific notes at specific frequencies (high to low), and take them “on tour” by changing the background to different opera houses in the world. Gray found it all very amusing, especially liking how the blobs got intense swirly eyes as you manipulated the other blobs they were singing with, and granted it 6/10 weirdness. (Not keen myself on that page being powered by Google’s machine learning, but…)

So yes – some weird shit out there on the interwebs, some weirder than others! And here I thought tumblr was as weird as it could get...

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – nothing happening on Valice Multiverse again, and I kind of ran out of time to try and find anything to queue up there, so I just focused on getting Victor Luvs Alice’s queue sorted for the next couple of days – specifically, I’ve got the Chill Valicer Save update for tomorrow, and the post on the “three-player Valicer AMA AU” for Thursday. We’ll finish off with Friday and Saturday tomorrow!

Whew -- at least that's all sorted! And now it is really time for me to head to bed, as I am NOT doing well at getting off this computer at a decent hour this week. Meh. Night all!
