Busy Freaking Tuesday
Feb. 18th, 2025 11:49 pmYes, it has been a very busy Tuesday for me -- and I'm still working on wrapping stuff up, so let's just get straight into it --
Work – Not a great first day back in the office – not only was one of my coworkers out again, I discovered not long after arriving that the person who was supposed to handle the GL on my day off got “confused” after running the daily credit card reports (which is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THING) and never did it. So most of my day was spent trying to get the Thursday and Friday GLs done while being interrupted by credit card calls and people complaining about what the Appeal does and doesn’t fund and the like. *sigh* Also we got another cash gift that I had to make sure to put on before the day was done, and THEN right before closing I got a credit card call for a one-time gift that made me slightly late leaving. *grumble* At least the traffic wasn’t horrible (it’s February vacation for some schools, which helps), but still. Hoping tomorrow is better!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with James Turner and –
A) The end of “Swinging to success in Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 20!” Featuring Sonny –
I. Finishing up training his singing skill and getting the ability to write and license lyrical songs (which he did on the guitar – James was worried it hadn’t worked at first, but then discovered that licensing lyrics is a separate option on the mailbox, so whew), then moving onto getting enough DJ skill to make custom mixes on the portable DJ booth so he could license THOSE as well. And those combined with him writing a song for the violin meant he had songs to license for every instrument in the game! Nice! Granted, all that time playing around with the microphone and the DJ booth meant that he kind of neglected his Mix Master table and got dropped by his music label, but honestly, he’s getting enough in royalties now that he doesn’t really need one.
II. Becoming a four-star “Proper Celebrity” from all this work – though James couldn’t think of any good perks to get him. All he really wanted was that “all-nighter” ability so Sonny has to sleep less! (And it WAS very useful while grinding out those last few music-related skills!)
III. And going out on a couple more dates with Judith to keep the romance alive – first hitting one of the penthouse lounges in San Myshuno for drinks and to learn what Judith likes and dislikes in a relationship; and then going to the ACTING STUDIO of all places because it was listed as a valid date location and James was like “well now I HAVE to go.” XD The date didn’t actually function correctly there, but Sonny and Judith were able to have a bit of shower woohoo in one of the dressing rooms –
Which led to Judith saying that they should live together! :D So James had Judith join the family, sticking all of her money in a new personal vault he bought for the pair so the house could be built using just Sonny’s music money. Because those are the rules. *nods* But yeah, after a few rough patches, it’s great to see Sonny and Judith progressing to the next part of their relationship! Hopefully Sonny’s third “proper” episode will see them get married! (Though it’ll probably be a simple elopement at home because otherwise James has gotta fuck around with My Wedding Stories weddings, and – yeah. Wouldn’t blame him for not wanting to bother with those!)
B) The very beginning of “Building an Island House in Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 21!” As in the first four minutes, as that’s how long I had left in my workout. XD But it was enough for James to show off his inspiration for Sonny’s eventual “island luxe” house (one of the nice big houses in Sulani, with a giant deck running around the place and a lot of open-air living space), and get started on the rebuild! We’re up to him trying to lay out the basic shape of the house – we’ll see how that all comes together tomorrow!
2. Write second draft of Brynlee Marie’s Gift Fic: Check – cleaned up the “Malk!Alice and Malk!Maddie fight Sabbat together in the Hallowbrook Hotel” fic tonight, tweaking some wording and cleaning up some phrasing here and there. No material differences – Alice still blows off the head of a Gangrel and brains a Toreador, while Madeline hacks apart the neck of a Brujah and uses a combination of Dementation and a nail bat to end the life of a woman of unknown clan – but it’s a little cleaner overall and flows a bit better. Hopefully Brynlee likes it when it goes up on her birthday this upcoming Sunday!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one video from Josh Way tonight, “Captain America: Brave New World Movie Review!” This was Josh’s take on the latest from the MCU, featuring the new Captain America (Sam Wilson, formerly the Falcon), and – well, he wanted to either love it or hate it, but it wasn’t good enough for the former or bad enough for the latter. He didn’t think much of it, granted – mostly because, at this point, he can’t bring himself to care about all the different weird strands of the Marvel Universe coming together, because none of it is fun and exciting anymore – but it wasn’t horrible enough to convince him to never see another Marvel movie. Basically, the acting was all solid (Harrison Ford’s performance got particular praise), but the writing was meh, and it’s just – you really gotta be a fan still to enjoy it, and Josh isn’t. But he’s still open to seeing the upcoming Thunderbolts movie – and the new Fantastic Four, because FOR SOME REASON THEY KEEP TRYING TO MAKE THOSE MOVIES WORK. STOP IT. THEY’RE INEVITABLY HORRIBLE. *shakes head*
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –
Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) – Got three parts of my queue sorted tonight:
A) Wednesday – an update to the “VITD Pets” post I made a little while back, with me deciding to change out the silver lap dragon Dougie (based on my own dragon plushie) for the blue lap dragon Benny (based on the blue variant of the plushie I decided to have Alice give Victor in the Valentine’s edition of the Valicer Not-Incorrect Quotes, since I’d previously established in the Forgotten Vows Verse that Victor likes dragons thanks to imagining himself the buddy of the folkloric “Blue Ben” of Klive, and figured a blue dragon would make more sense no matter the verse)! Nothing else about the score has changed, I just wanted to update the dragon itself ever since doing that Quotes post. Felt appropriate!
B) Thursday – a reblog of someone’s comic of their BITD characters, with the girl in charge, Soda Pop, trying to intimidate someone with her gun and her favorite muscle – only for the local Whisper to wander in and ruin the mood XD Just amused me!
C) Friday – a reblog of a “draw your OT3” prompt showing three people in Rock-Paper-Scissors costumes for Halloween XD Perfect costumes for the Valicer trio, I feel (Alice of course is Scissors, while Victor is Paper and Smiler Rock)
Still need to get Saturday sorted, but that can wait until tomorrow!
Valice Multiverse – One ask from Charlotte of TheCovenWars today, with her asking Victor to come over so she could try experimenting with turning off the fear response in his brain (the last person got a little too risk-happy, but she thinks she’s got the right moderation this time!) – Cuddlepile!Victor was very wary, but – well, he is also very anxious, and having that turned off does sound good, soo...he’s not completely against it? But he wants to know just how risk-happy the last person got first.
Other: Did indeed get Moose’s messages all answered tonight, yay~ Enjoyed seeing the pics of the nuggets, Moose!
Well, I feel accomplished -- and also like I've stayed up too late. XD Time to run off to bed for me -- night all!
