crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Yeah, the damn red curse started right before I went to bed last night. Bleeh -- I guess that at least explains why I had such a bad case of tired distracted brain yesterday! *sigh* Anyway, I am still dealing with tired distracted brain, so here's the write-up of my day:

Work – A decent Friday to end the week – I spent most of the day on the GL again (I swear, our processors really like posting shit on Thursdays lately), along with putting on one lady’s pledge (which she’d forgotten to write on her card), looking at the failed credit cards/ACH payments, and doing a bit of roster maintenance. Coworkers were largely quiet behind me, and my break times were uninterrupted. Would have preferred NOT being on my period, but, eh. Weekend now, at least!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – final night on the bike this week, pedaling my way through –

A) The end of “Opening our business in Sims 2 Rags to Riches - Part 2” by James Turner! Which ironically, given what I said yesterday about James neglecting Iled and Semaj’s aspiration stuff, was all about grinding out some of their wants because James looked at their ages and went “oh shit, I have to earn enough points to afford the age-reducing potion cooler aspiration reward before they become elders.” XD Iled had more points stored up than Semaj, and also easier-to-fulfill wants (because, as a Knowledge Sim, she mainly wanted to earn skills and buy things to facilitate earning skills), so James concentrated on her, having her earn loads of Mechanical and Cooking skill and getting her the robotics station and an easel when she asked for them. Semaj, meanwhile, mainly wanted to eat cereal and blog about Arts & Crafts. XD Though he did have some wants to buy stuff, like a flower-arranging bench and a dresser, and James indulged him. (He also bought the family a cheap rusty car, though only AFTER Semaj’s want to get one had already rolled away, sadly.) After indulging her creative side on the easel a bit, Iled eventually did earn enough points to get a potion cooler –

But since each cooler only holds five drinks, James had her chug them all to get her back to almost the start of her life stage, and said “sorry, Semaj, you’ll have to earn your own!” XD Though now that Semaj has wants to earn badges in various money-making activities, maybe that’ll be easier. Or at least more likely to happen, given the way James plays. :p Anyway, with that sorted, James decided to end the episode on a wedding, and set up a simple matrimonial party spot around the side of the house, where Iled and Semaj got married at nightfall in the presence of their four closest acquaintances. All of whom left before the party ended, dropping it from a Good Time to a Snoozer. James was not pleased. XD But yeah, that’s another episode in the can – next time we visit, we should get to see some house renovations! James didn’t spend ALL the money on fancy dressers and crafting benches, after all…

B) And the entirety of “The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies: 10 FEATURES You Might Not Know!” by onlyabidoang! This is one that popped up in my Recommendeds earlier today, and just so happened to be the perfect length to fill in the rest of my workout! As the title suggests, this is all about talking about features of the pack that you might not know about, including:

I. The existence of Trashley Reelperson, a shady dealer who will sell you items like cardboard boxes with loot in them (har har EA) and forged paintings, and who is totally not a bunch of raccoons in a trenchcoat

II. The family recipe system, where you can make “family recipes” by adding a “secret ingredient” and a special new effect to a dish (such as adding glow orbs to a dessert and giving it the ability to boost someone’s fertility, or an avocado to a salad and giving it the ability to fill a random need)

III. The new skill mastery perks, which comes from practicing a skill you have a high level in a lot, and can range from stuff like “earn certain skills twice as fast while dealing with slower progress in others” to “astrally project yourself while sleeping to try out and earn new skills” (yes, really)

IV. The ability to make “shock candy” in the candy-making machine if you have high enough mischief skill, which gives Sims who consume it high-pitched voices like they’ve just inhaled helium and the ability to summon lightning (a la if they’ve been supercharged by lightning strikes in Seasons)

V. And the fact that LITERAL CHILDREN can own small businesses, though they can only level their perks up to the second stage

Yeah, uh, some interesting stuff in that video! XD But useful information too – Abi’s always good at sharing that, I’ve found. :)

2. Continue working on Multiamory March prompts: Check – got “Day 18: Royalty” (aka the prompt I was having so much trouble with until I swapped it out for something I could use with my Medieval Fantasy Hypnokink AU) and “Day 19: Chatfic/the polycule groupchat” (aka the return of the Running Headlong Into The Bullshit Mega-Polycule) edited tonight! w000~ So that leaves two left to edit, and roughly ten left to write. *nods* We’re coming into the home stretch here, people!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution check – I only had one GrayStillPlays video in the Subs tonight, but it was a half-hour long. And since Game Night had once again run long (we played Sequence tonight – I ended up champ with five wins, while Mom got three and poor Dad got one), I realized that if I watched it, I wouldn’t get to do any editing on my prompts, and – yeah, I decided that I didn’t want to skip that. So instead, after getting my editing done, I watched the shortest video currently hanging out in my Watch Later: “Nordhaven World Secrets And Features | The Sims 4 Guide” by Petey Plays It! A look at the Nordic-inspired world that comes with Businesses & Hobbies, and the two neighborhoods within! Which Petey was like “should have been three, given this is an expansion pack and all.” *nods* Anyway, the two worlds both look nice, at least – Iverstad is much more paved over and industrial-looking, but has some nice statues, a swimmable area you can walk to down some steps, Trashley’s alley (complete with a garbage can you too can rummage around in), and a train station that your Sim can sit beside to watch the trains pulling in and out; while Gammelvik is more rural-looking, with a church your Sims can pop into for a (rabbithole) historic tour, lots of pretty fake houses, a sculpture park next to the museum lot, and its own swimmable area tucked away near said park. Oh, and both have a nice big open area for the hobby meet-ups that have stalls with food, drink, candy, and ceramics, plus a public selling table for your Sims to use. All in all, not a bad world, just kinda small. Though seeing that sculpture park gave me the feels, because the first thing I thought was “oh, that would have been PERFECT for my Chill Valicer Save trio to visit one SimCity Founding.” :( I really gotta figure out how to fix Smiler’s eye situation so I can actually start a new save file and some new Valicer shenanigans...

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – nothing happening over on Valice Multiverse, but on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler), I got the post for “Day 15: Matching” completely sorted, and did a rough draft for “Day 16: Outsider POV” – I would have finished it, but I was too tired. But I’ve got my story ready to go for tomorrow, and a start on what will be Sunday’s post, so I’m in a good spot, yay.

*nods* Not bad, especially for the first day of my period. But now I need to head to bed and try and get some sleep. Tomorrow is a Cleaning Saturday -- and I've decided it's also going to be Backup Saturday and Video Marathon Saturday, as I want to clear all the OXBoxtra lists I've collected out of my Watch Later and make another set of proper backups. So the goals tomorrow are cleaning; working on more Multiamory March stuff; getting more prompts into my Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) queue; catching up on all my videos; and making backups. *nods* Hopefully all achievable without much fuss. Night all!
