Guess Okay Monday

crossover_chickMom liked her birthday card, and I got a really nice piece of chocolate cream pie tonight for dessert because of said birthday (Mom didn't want a standard cake, and apparently the last time we had cheesecake, it gave her heartburn, so...), so that was nice, at least. :) And as for the rest of the day --
Work – Eh day at work – the work part itself wasn’t too bad (GL, a few calls regarding tax letters and checking on gifts and one credit card pledge, more roster maintenance), but my coworkers were quite annoying behind me today, which – yeah. Isn’t anything new. *sigh* We’ll see how tomorrow goes.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with “A third Sim has completed the Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 16” by James Turner! And let me tell you, Scarlett’s final episode has remained quite chaotic, especially in regards to her dating life:
A) First, she never was able to actually talk to her first date, Kiera (just do random activities with her) – and when she ended it early and tried a SECOND date with her next choice, Marlee, James discovered Scarlett couldn’t actually talk to HER either. He figured it had to be a problem with his mods and went and took them out before reloading (bad form, James!). This did fix the issue of Scarlett not being able to talk to her dates –
But ended up glitching out said dates so they ended up with different body frames and completely bald. James was like “uh, no” and immediately canceled Marlee’s date as well, having Scarlett flee back home and removing the glitched Sims from her relationship panel. XD And this is why we take our mods out when a new expansion pack is released, James!
B) Then Scarlett decided to start anew on the app and favorited a few more people, before setting up a date at the Tiny Town lot with her new potential paramour, Ashly – only for a dude named Shingo to call in the middle of said date, confess he was attracted to her, and ask to come over. Scarlett stupidly said “sure” and started basically trying to do a date with both him AND Ashly at the same time, which very much did not work out. Mostly because, as you might expect, each of them objected to her flirting with the other. So she sent them both away too, because how dare they have romantic boundaries. :p
C) Then Scarlett was invited randomly out to a talent show by Simon Scott out in – Del Sol Valley? Oasis Springs? I’m not sure, mostly because Scarlett only stayed long enough to start flirting with Simon, and left the moment the married man shut her down. XD James was like “I’m sorry, but the minute you invited me out, I assumed we were on a date. Never mind that we arrived with a whole crowd of people and you’re already married.” XD
D) THEN Scarlett tried a date with Austin, one of her other picks from the app – but while they actually managed to have a successful date and got along well, his traits left a LOT to be desired (including “Paranoid” and “Snob”) so James deleted him from Scarlett’s relationship panel as well. Which feels unfair, as she actually seemed to like him. :( It’s not like you would have had to play with him for long, James!
E) And finally, after a quick break to harvest all of her crops (except the giant mushrooms, which didn’t grow in time) and sell them at the Finchwick Fair on Saturday (she didn’t get the full “Haggle” bonus, but she still made an extra 10% profit on everything), Scarlett ended up going to the Romance Festival with her nephew Reuben, where she immediately ditched him to pursue a cute guy – only to learn that she was not his type when she tried putting on the moves. And then she tried flirting with a lady right in front of her husband, which naturally quite upset said husband. XD She quickly fled after that.
Yeaaah, so, Scarlett seems a little cursed in the love department. Perhaps you should just get her a pet, James. XD On the plus side, though, James did upgrade her house nicely with new kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures (mostly from Realm of Magic, since he felt they had the right vibe), and created a lovely new sitting room upstairs with a TV corner and a book nook with a rocking chair (plus he added a second bathroom on that level, so Scarlett doesn’t always have to go downstairs to pee now). AND she successfully grew her cowplant, so her aspiration is complete, yay! Now she just has to wait for her money tree to sprout – and while she’s doing that, James is getting a start on giving her some nice landscaping! For free, no less, as he wanted to decorate without worrying about the weather or the season (it’s currently winter and thus everything is kind of sad and dead). He justified it as “she basically has infinite money now, so it doesn’t matter if I actually spend it or not.” XD We’ll finish this up tomorrow – looking forward to seeing the final state of her lot!

Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has found the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle – and gotten quite annoyed over the fact that it is literally across the street from the Tremere Chantry. Like, seriously – they’re basically next to each other. Alice was like “does Strauss not go outside?!” XD (Though, as Cheshire pointed out, Strauss has no idea that the symbol painted on the building is that of the Brotherhood – and that the Brotherhood, while filled with loonies, probably wouldn’t tolerate anyone stumbling upon them accidentally and possibly spilling their secrets too early.) Anyway, after getting that out of her system, Alice headed inside and got past Jumbles the doorman with the help of her flier – tomorrow, she enters the lobby and finds a certain scared kid that I think a lot of us have wanted to officially save. There may in fact be feels. *nods*
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – turned out to be a surprise twofer today in the old Subs –
A) First up, we had “Hey, Fun With Shorts Fans!” from Josh Way – a two-minute update video with him saying that he’s heard the desire for more “Fun With Shorts” loud and clear, and while he can’t commit to a new short weekly, he will commit to doing a new one monthly, with any extras being Patreon-exclusive. He will also continue to release former Patreon-exclusive shorts that are now at least three years old to YouTube. On the flip side, Patreon subscribers will soon have their own exclusive podcast feed, art stuff, and behind-the-scenes looks at how he makes his “Fun With Shorts” videos and whatnot. Basically, he’s trying to get his shit together and give the people what they want while keeping in mind what he himself can do with the time he has. So it sounds like we’ll be having more riffs in the future! I’m good with that. :)
B) And second up, we had GrayStillPlays and “Cars vs shredders in GTA 5!” This was your classic challenge torture board, where Gray had to find the right car that could bounce over the top of a bunch of belly-tickling shredder wheels; escape what was essentially a giant garbage disposal full of blades by either getting through the thumbnail hole at the bottom or wall-riding around the top; survive a drop into a pit full of “Wolverine claws” made up of wind turbine blades for 16 seconds before getting teleported out and driving to the healing teleporter checkpoint; and finally successfully tightrope over a series of rapidly-spinning drill bits without being slapped into space by the wind turbines all around. Most of the cars could make it over the belly-tickler, and a decent amount managed to get through the garbage disposal, but only two cars managed to get through the “Wolverine claws” shredder without either ejecting Gray, blowing up, ejecting Gray AND blowing up, or (in one case) getting teleported out of the pit entirely while on fire – the Vapid Trophy Truck and my beloved Wastelander. And while the drill bit tightrope wasn’t easy for either of them, it was my beloved Wastelander that pulled through and got the win! :D Always love to see that rustbucket succeed.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) to worry about tonight, and while I didn’t get a lot done, I did get a couple of things sorted:
A) I edited my first Valicer Not-Incorrect Quote in the Valentine’s Day collection slightly, and came up with a scene idea for them exchanging presents – though, given how long it could potentially get, maybe it should be a trio of scenes – one each for Victor and Alice, Victor and Smiler, and Alice and Smiler. I know what I want Victor and Smiler to get each other (a “pianophone” I reblogged on tumblr a while back and an antique alchemy kit respectively), and I have an idea for Victor getting Alice a recreation of her “Vorpal Blade,” but the other presents I still need to suss out. It’s a start, though!
B) I also made my very first Valicertine, while looking back through some old Chill Valicer Save screenshots! I wanted to do a sequel to last year’s “COMPERSION!” one with Alice watching Victor and Smiler going in for a kiss, and Smiler watching Victor give Alice a back massage during their Spookfest date fit the bill for me. :) So I’ve got one in the bag – need at least two more now!
