crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

Workwise, at least -- my afternoon and evening have been a bit busier, as you shall soon see --

Work – I am pleased to report that the “relatively quiet” streak held to the end of the week, as I had a fairly uneventful day in the office! (Helped that one of my coworkers was out, so the talky one had to stay quiet.) I did the GL; I put on the checks that came in the mail; I called a bunch of people about credit card gifts (only one guy picked up, but still); I put a new pledge card in the mail at someone’s request; I remailed a returned pledge card (because the wrong address was on the envelope); and I did a little roster maintenance. And while the trip INTO the office was pretty nasty (multiple accidents around the highways leading to backup EVERYWHERE), the trip OUT OF the office was mostly smooth sailing (with a couple of assholes – including one car that cut right in front of me to reach an exit – and the usual traffic on the main drag). So yeah, not bad at all for a Friday! And now it is the weekend, yay~

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike this week, last night with “Camillo has finished the Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 23” by James Turner! (Plus a quick rewatch of the American McGee’s Alice demo’s trailer for the full game at the very end of my ride, as I had a minute to fill and remembered how much I liked the music in that video.) The final half-hour of Camillo’s two-part finale featured:

A) James giving Camillo a cat – a chonky fluffy white Persian named Vern! And then immediately making sure to get all the cat stuff (litterbox, pet feeder, cat tree) before he forgot and everyone yelled at him. XD Camillo was – well, he seemed fond of his new companion, but he also took Vern out at one point and dumped him in Scarlet’s oversized garden patch, so perhaps he wasn’t quite AS fond of him as James might have hoped. :p But James got some cute footage of them cuddling on the couch together, so that was sweet, at least. :)

B) Camillo doing a couple final yoga classes to find the final renovations and such on his house – hitting up both the Magic Realm (where he pestered the local spellcasters until they joined his classes) and the Sylvan Glade in Willow Creek (where he made his extended family, including Semaj and Nalani, pay him for the privilege of doing yoga with him – though Scarlett kept being like “sorry, can’t find a space, gonna play games on my phone instead” XD). I can officially say that earning money through Wellness-related activities is not easy, but if you find the right spots to host your classes and such, it can be pretty lucrative!

C) James finishing off Camillo’s house – in addition to the cat stuff, he also set up Camillo’s living room (with a purple Lovestruck chaise lounge, fancy); stuck a desk into the cat area as a sort of “home office” (so Camillo had a place to “run his business”); put some fancy Lovestruck benches out on the balconies (while complaining about how weird Lovestruck’s tagging system is, noting that an outdoor bench could only be found in LOVESEATS); added a bunch of fancy lights; did ALL the ceilings in that over-the-top mosaic tile; and added a bunch of various ferns and small palm trees around the place, inside and out! He was actually quite pleased with the end result, and I gotta say, it did look pretty luxurious. Just cold as hell, given that – like Sonny’s place – this is a house with a lot of rooms open to the outside through arches and such in Henford-on-Bagley. XD

But yeah – with those final bits of furnishing done, and Camillo having found the companionship he so craved in his new kitty, James was happy to declare his portion of the Tiny Town Saga done! ...apparently completely forgetting that Camillo was supposed to be maxing out his writing skill so he could give Vivian her own Book of Life. To be fair, he was dealing with so many bugs this episode, I’m not surprised he forgot. Maybe he’ll remember in the next episode and make that Sim do it. :P

2. Continue working on Multiamory March prompts: Check – got the Day Two prompt, “Hurt/Comfort” – featuring Smiler tending to a hurt Alice and Victor after a nasty fight with another gang (happily, they won AND got the item the gang was fighting them over) – all edited, so that’s good! Still, need to make some better progress with these over the weekend – I’ll definitely have to block out some time to get early ones edited and later ones written!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one GrayStillPlays video to watch today: “I infected all of mankind and this happened,” aka Gray plays Foreign Creature! This is a point-and-click game where you play as a strange alien creature, out to take over the Earth for the being that cloned it from his finger and build him an army of darkness to fight the one besieging him on his own planet. This process involves breaking out of the lab that you’re trapped in; making your way over to a house and possessing someone within; going back to the lab to destroy all the research on you; getting shot and then having to break out of the hospital where they took you to dissect you; failing that and expelling yourself from your host body to infect a rat and get a new human host body; taking THAT host body to a concert and infecting the singer after the show; then using the singer to learn about Earth, vacuum up all the food in her house, hork up some new worm parasites to infect her dogs, then use the dogs to infect more dogs, and from there more people until an alien-infected man is being elected president. As you might imagine, a LOT of people die along the way. A number of them quite unnecessarily, in fact – like, in the initial lab escape, you successfully knock out both the scientist keeping you captive and the security guard, but you can’t just leave them knocked out – no, you have to tip over a test tube of acid onto the scientist’s head and shoot the security guard with his own gun. Hell, some people die simply because that seems to be how the alien gets its kicks! Gray alternated between being utterly stunned by some of the deaths (notably a dog getting its head chainsawed off) and egging the alien on, wondering why it wasn’t eating its foes to gain their powers like in some other games he’s played. XD But yeah, kind of a disturbing game overall, even with the cartoony gore and his commentary – hopefully tomorrow’s GTA V video serves as a good palate cleanser!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –

Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) – Got the first Multiamory March prompt, First Kiss(es), into the queue! It took longer than I’d hoped, due to me struggling a bit with the wording, but it is in there, and ready to fire off after my Song Saturday post. *nods* We’ll worry about the rest tomorrow.

Valice Multiverse – Actually had the same three things to deal with tonight as I had last night, amusingly enough –

A) First up, got another reply from The Satirical Demon on the ask about the “Mekhanite Garou” that unnerved Alice so much, with him explaining what the deal was with the God-Machine I told him I vaguely remembered seeing a mention of in the new World of Darkness (now Chronicles of Darkness) sourcebook! Apparently it’s a supernatural supercomputer stand-in for God, trying to keep the status quo quoing by keeping the monsters hiding in the dark. It gets most of its pagetime in the Demon: The Descent line, apparently, with demons being escaped rogue programming. I was like “thanks for the info – interesting take on God and demons!” in response. Which it is, even if it’s exactly as weird as I expect from the WOD these days. :P

B) Then I had another reblog on The Coven Wars Forgotten Vows Verse “Venus and Mouse” thread to put in the queue! And we did indeed get some Mouse backstory, with him explaining to Victor that he’s basically been on his own since he was ten (having lost his family in a way he doesn’t remember), learning how to survive and pretend all this doesn’t bother him. He picked up the “Mouse” name from an employer while doing an odd job, and it just stuck, since he doesn’t tell people his real name. He found Venus about a year ago, and he just – couldn’t leave her on her own, so – yeah. Victor was basically like “That’s horrible, I’m so sorry, is there anything I can do to help” – as you might imagine, he and Alice have a pretty soft spot for kids in trouble! And these two definitely seem to be in trouble – or, at the very least, could use an adult or two in their lives! We’ll see what happens tomorrow!

C) And finally, I had another ask from Toonsisters to stick in the queue – announcing that it was her birthday! She (or at the very least, her character) is officially 17! The Cuddlepile!Valicer trio made sure to congratulate her appropriately, with Smiler even throwing some confetti. :) Wish I’d managed to get to this one a bit earlier, but hopefully she appreciates the belated birthday wishes!

Aaaand I have officially stayed up later than intended and am now super tired. ^^; Just took me longer to get that story queued up than I thought -- good thing tomorrow is Saturday! A Cleaning Saturday, admittedly, but still. *shakehead* Anyway, I'm off to bed -- plans for tomorrow including cleaning my room and washing my blankets; playing some Sims 4 and working on the Polyheart OT3 house a little more (either doing the outside or redoing the bedroom, which I always thought was the weakest room); working on more Multiamory March prompts and getting at least the Day Two prompt queued up; and keeping up with the Subs and maybe even getting in a video or two from my Watch Later. We shall see. *nods* Night all!
