Update on the Computer thing

crossover_chickWell, I'm going with getting a new video card -- nVidia most likely, GeForce 6 series (I went on their website, and they recommend that series for Sims 2 University -- Sims 2 Nightlife isn't up yet). We're going to Best Buy, where we got the computer. *is nervous* Blah --I can't help but be a little paranoid that I'm going to lose stuff. I made backups of everything, of course, but still. . . .
-D: *pats shoulder reassuringly* It's going to be just fine. It's only a video card.-
Yeah, I know, I know. Not like they need to replace the motherboard or anything like that. But I'm still a little nervous.
-TD: It'll be worth it for better Sims playing, right?-

-VD: How goes it on the writing front?-
Today is TeenDoc day -- "Teen Doc" in typing, "Boy Genius" in writing.
-H: You know, I've been wondering -- which one are we?-
Pardon?
-H: Most of your muses have "origin universes," so to speak -- you know, Doc comes from NonTrilogy, VampDoc from the Vampire Doc Chronicles. . . . Even DocWolf has that anthroworld you made up. What's our origin universe?-
*pause* I hate to say this, but I don't think you have one anymore.
-E: Huh?-
You see, you started out as "Teen Doc" characters -- but when I got into Girl Genius, you sort of morphed into the "Boy Genius" characters.
-H: So we're "Boy Genius."-
No, because you guys still have your memories from "Teen Doc." Basically, you're algamations of two different versions of yourselves. You don't belong to either "early NonTrilogy BTTF" or the "Boy Genius" universe, because you have qualities from both.
-TD: Lovely, I have TWO psychotic fathers.-
-M: That's a first, isn't it?-
-MDC: Hey, what about me?-
You're from a friend, you don't fit the standard muse rules anyway.
-MDC: Oh. I'm special. *preens*-
-DW: *rolls eyes* So what do they do if they want to visit their home universe?-
Uh -- pick one and try to fit in?
-E: That won't work -- I'll be going to "Teen Doc" while they run off to "Boy Genius."-
Alternate then. I don't mind. *patpats TeenDoc* And it'll be okay. Your dad was tolerable for 17 years, right?
-TD: *grumble* What is it with you and making me suffer?-
-D: She has a weak spot for angst, especially in the NonTrilogy universe.-
-VD: Hey, I think we get our fair share. I got tortured nearly to death by a soulless vampire.-
-VD2: I'm from Hell Valley in BTTF II. Enough said.-
-OD: Electrocuted and nearly blinded.-
-DW: Let me put it this way -- prejudice against wolves doesn't end if the rest of the population are also animals. Think of bigoted prey species.-
-OD: I've been meaning to ask you -- is your world like Kevin and Kell? Or is it something different?-
-DW: Kevin and Kell is a good starting point, though there's a lot less of us eating each other.-
-D: I concede the point, but your angst wasn't RELATED to you.-
-TD: And couldn't TORTURE you for your entire childhood.-
-Other Docs: *nodnod*-
-M: Yeah, same kinda goes for us. We've all been beat up, I'm sure, but I don't think any of the other Martys could top what happened to me in "Dark Half."-
-VuM: Won't even try.-
Yeah, NonTrilogy is actually one of my darker universes. It's weird.
-D: Just make sure I get some humor stories.-
Heh, yeah, life in NT isn't all bad. After all, Holly's a main (if often offscreen) character -- not all can be dark and gloomy with her around.
-TD: *grin* Good point.-
-H: *beam* That's my job.-
*patpats* And you know I love you.
-M2: That's supposed to comfort them?-
How long do you want me to drag "I feel like I've been staked" out for?
-M2: I'll be good.-
