Halloween Costume = Done
Oct. 17th, 2005 10:04 pmWell, mine anyway -- the muses are still finishing up theirs.
-D: Well, we require either a lot of wigs or a lot of hair dye.-
-VD: And period clothing that has to be bought without affecting the space-time continuum.-
Ah yes, yours is much more complicated than mine. Here's the lowdown:
Hair: Agatha and I are both blond with long hair. I may pin up a few pieces in the back to simulate that weird little thing she has on the back of her head.
Glasses: We found a pair of Harry Potter ones with thin black frames -- sorta like the kind I use for SimAgatha.
Locket: Mom painted a piece of cardboard to look like the trilobite -- I have to say, it's not her best work (it's kinda lopsided). But it'll do.
Shirt: Found an off-white blouse at a consignment shop that will do nicely. To create the high neck, we'll simply fold up the collar and pin it with the locket.
Vest: Found a green leather vest in a thrift store that will be just nifty.
Skirt: This was made by my Mom with some dark green material and an appropriate pattern.
Boots: Mom has a pair of high brown lace-up boots.
General: This whole idea came about because Mom told me I kinda look like Agatha. There are a few resemblences -- Agatha did have blue eyes at some point (I swear, every time they change colorists, somebody's hair or eye color changes -- Gil has been dirty blond, brunette, AND a redhead!), and we have a similar facial shape and hair color. We're even both -- er -- well-endowed. Here, have a comparison:
Me (albeit with short hair)
Agatha Heterodyne (version I'm going as)
Work was same old, same old -- got busy when I was supposed to leave, so I stayed over. I did get one woman who commented on my acne and suggested how to get rid of it. I mean, she did ask if she could get personal beforehand, but I didn't think that was what she was going to talk about! Seriously, I do work on getting rid of my acne, it's annoying. But it's kinda annoying to have a stranger point it out to me. :(
-E: Ugh, acne. I hated that stuff.-
Emphasis on the past tense, how come you guys have such clear skin?
-H: *offers beaker* Little potion I brewed up -- splash it on your face once a day, and it'll help prevent breakouts.-
-TD: Emily and I also got a bit lucky, we're naturally a bit more clear-skinned.-
Lucky. *takes potion* Can't be any worse than the stuff I already put on, thanks.
-H: No problem.-
I've also got a strange idea plaguing my brain that I may turn into a silly Halloween pic -- semi-demon Doc. Somehow I got the idea from shapeshifting, and I guess the "spooky" atmosphere transfigured it into that.
-VD: Vampires aren't enough?-
-DW: Or wolfmorph/werewolves?-
Apparently not, no. Partial-demon Doc would look like a regular Doc with the addition of two bright red horns, a pair of red wings, and a red pointy prehensile tail.
-VD2: *coughNightcrawlercough*-
Come on, prehensile tails are always cool. I wish I had one, would be dead useful.
-OD: Well, I suppose whatever inspires you to draw. And it probably would make a good Halloween picture.-
*beam*
Random Note of the Day: Circumstances forced me to buy some chapstick for my poor abused lips. I actually ended up getting a flavored lip gloss that does about the same thing and cost a bit less. It's actually A&W Root Beer flavored -- and actually tastes like it! :D
Okay, off to indulge minor "Corpse Bride" obbession (I generally don't share the whole OMGJOHNNYDEPPISSOHOTOMG dealy, but Victor Van Dort is DAMN cute) and to write more on "Teen Doc."
