crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

October 25th, 1985: This is where it all began, folks. Marty arrives at Doc's lab shortly after 8:00, although he thinks it's shortly before because all of Doc's clocks have been set 25 minutes slow. Everything about the place suggests that Doc hasn't been there in a while -- the coffee maker is missing its pot, for example and his dog Einstein's bowl is filled to overflowing. Marty wonders where Doc is, then goes to play a song on the giant amplifier Doc owns, turning it up to maximum volume. The amp promptly explodes, dumping Marty into a bookcase. Once he frees himself from the wreck, Doc's phone starts ringing. It's Doc, calling to ask Marty meet him that night at 1:15 A.M at Twin Pines Mall. Marty asks where he's been all week -- Doc replies "Workin'," though he doesn't say on what. Doc also warns Marty of a short in the amp, just a little too late. The clocks suddenly all go off to mark the "start" of the hour -- Doc says that his experiment worked and that they're all 25 minutes slow. Marty realizes he's late for school and immediately skateboards out, catching rides off cars to get to school. Jennifer meets him on the front steps, warning him not to go in the front. They sneak in, but are unfortunately caught by Strickland, who gives Marty his fourth tardy slip in a row. He also lectures Marty about hanging around Doc Brown and accuses him of being a slacker, just like his father. He rather cruelly asks why Marty entered his band in the dance auditions, saying Marty doesn't have a chance and that no McFly ever made anything of himself "in the history of Hill Valley!" Marty replies, "Yeah, well history is gonna change."
At the "Battle of the Bands," however, things don't go so well -- Marty and his band the Pinheads are quickly ruled out for being too loud. Marty complains to Jennifer as they walk into the town square after school, saying that he's never going to make anything of himself in the music business. Jennifer tells him that he is good and that he should send in his demo tape -- Marty counters that he "couldn't take that kind of a rejection," then complains he's starting to sound like his old man. Spotting his dream 4x4 pickup truck, he and Jennifer start to get a little playful together. Jennifer asks if his mother knows about their camping trip together -- Marty says no way, his mother would hate it and would give him a lecture about how she never did that kind of thing. They try to kiss, but are interrupted by a woman from the Hill Valley Historical Preservation Society, asking them to save the Clock Tower. Marty gives her a quarter to make her go away and gets a flyer in return. A second attempt at a kiss is ruined by Jennifer's father picking her up. Jennifer tells Marty she'll be at her grandmother's tonight, and gives him the number on the back of the flyer so he can call. They share a brief peck, then go their separate ways.
Marty eventually skateboards into Lyon Estates and to his home -- only to discover the family car has been wrecked by his father's abusive supervisor Biff Tannen, who wrecked it while drinking. Biff browbeats George into paying for the repair and to clean the spilled beer on his jacket. Later at dinner, we get a good look at the McFly family -- father George is shy and easily bullied, with almost no self-confidence, mother Lorraine appears to drink and eat too much for her own good, and seems a little bitter about her life, brother Dave shares some of George's nerdish qualities and works for Burger King, while sister Linda whines about having no boyfriend and has rather bad makeup. Over dinner and cake (Uncle Joey didn't make parole again), Lorraine ends up recounting how she and George first met -- George fell out of a tree while "birdwatching" and was hit by Lorraine's father. He was brought into the house, and Lorraine fell for his "little lost puppy" look. A week later, they had their first real date at the "Enchantment Under The Sea" dance, where George kissed her for the first time, and Lorraine realized she was going to marry him.
George must be one HELL of a good kisser.

-TD: *shivering* Too cold around here!-
It's late October. It gets cold even in California in late October. Watch BTTF I, you can see Marty's breath in the parking lot scenes (which are tomorrow :p).
-TD: But I don't want it to be cold! There must be some way to alter our local meterological patterns!-
-M: Yup. It's called, "Calling Ororo 'Storm' Munroe and begging her to warm things up."-
And we have central heating here in the muse house, so stop yer whining.
-D: Trust me, kid, this isn't as bad as it gets. Wait until November. Wait until you see the SNOW this place can get.-
-TD: *whimpers*-
Stop scaring -- your younger self.
-VD: Hey, they deserve to be warned, right?-
-H: Speaking of which, help me convince the prude here that she can wear pants. She doesn't think it's right.-
-E: Well, we're girls! We shouldn't be dressing in drag!-
-J: . . . Wearing pants is dressing in drag?-
-VD2: Technically, yes -- trousers were the domain of men for a very long time.-
-AJ: I thought men wore stockings at one point?-
-VD2: Leggings, and yes.-
-J2: Couldn't that be called dressing in drag?-
-VD2: Well, not from their viewpoint.-
-VJ: What about togas? Those look like dresses.-
-OD: Can we stop? The kids are badly confused. *tentacles schreek their assent*-
Besides, I have a solution already -- wear a pair of pants like stockings.
-E: Pardon?-
Under the dress, silly.
-E: Ooooh.-
-M: I, personally, am glad to live in an era when men wear pants and women wear pants -- dressing is so easy.-
-M2: And I don't even want to know how you keep a toga up. I attended a toga party with some friends, and mine kept coming undone.-
-VD2: Josie tells me it's all in how you fold it. Of course, in modern times, we also have safety pins.-
I know your Simforms talk a lot about fashion, but this is ridiculous.
-TD: You certainly don't pay much attention to it.-
Pants, shirt, shoes, I'm set.

It was Strangetown Sims Day today -- La Fiesta Tech, to be precise. Agatha and Gil are now Sophomores in college and out of the dorms. Things in the dorms were about usual -- the female lunch lady finally left, though she got briefly trapped in the boy's room -- I had to "moveobjects on" her out. Gil and Agatha ended up taking care of dinner because of her predicament.

Other than that, it was basically the usual -- both did their assignments and went to class regularly.

(They're in a fellow dormie's room in that last shot -- I thought it was cute how Gil followed Agatha in to relax and look at her.)
We also had some more "alternate choices" moments -- Gil thinks Debbie Bear and Demi Love are hot, while Cooper thinks Agatha is cute -- and Agatha thinks he is.

Don't fear for my favorite lovebirds, though. Gil and Agatha became the best of friends in the dorm.

And despite the fact they think they have a number of hot dormmates, they don't act on their feelings. Gil's more than happy to curl up with a good book, while Agatha paints.

-H: Rather antisocial, aren't they?-
It's kinda in the nature of Sparks -- they're different from other humans, so they stay away. They do have some outside friends, though -- always willing to play chess with others.
After they got their A+s and grants on their Freshman finals, I moved Gil and Agatha out and onto a small lot. Unfortunately, I grossly overestimated how far their money would stretch. I had to cut some corners so they had a bit left over for food and bills.
Everyone -- meet The Pen.

Half walls are half price of full ones, so Agatha and Gil have a little privacy/space to themselves. The bathroom has full walls, of course. They're shockingly poor -- I could barely afford a bookcase for them.

They don't even have a shower -- just the one lonely sink in the bathroom.

-J: If I were a Sim, I'd be revolting. No "no shower" jokes.-
-MDC: Aw.-
Oh, Agatha and Gil don't mind. You see, Gil's first action upon arriving on the new lot -- was to make out with Agatha.

Gil's now very much in love with Agatha, and Agatha is crushing on Gil (which is quite true to the comics, I believe -- only Agatha's reluctant to acknowledge she may be crushing on him). So they're happy.

They're even willing to share a double bed -- which is good, helps them save.

And of course I'll try to get them to community lots every so often to earn some more money -- Agatha went and worked as a barista today.

I also built the Weasley house -- though they have actual walls, they too ran low on cash. They have RECLINERS instead of beds.

They could only afford one dining room chair -- George had to eat his gelatin standing up.

Luckily, the Weasley Twins have a) an easel, which can net cash from sold paintings and b) freestyling. Yay for tipping!

-VD: No money trees?-
. . . *dope slap* Right. Remind me to visit next time I play and "plant" some for all of them. 40 simoleons every so often, and they'll all be solvent.
-VD: *grin, pat shoulder*-
Okay, I must go to bed, because I overslept this morning -- how ironic. Luckily I wasn't late to anything, but still. . . .

Oh, yeah! Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] damostaranth, who was born 20 years ago on this date. Yup, guy was born October 25th, 1985. Backieness is in your blood, dude. :p
