Preoccupied With 1955: Day Four

crossover_chickNovember 8th, 1955: Early that morning, Marty breaks into George's room and awakens him with a blast of Van Halen from his walkman. Marty claims to be Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan, and commands George to take Lorraine to the dance, or he'll melt his brain. George catches up with Marty that afternoon, having overslept after his encounter with "Vader," and tells him the whole story. Marty leads George over to Lou's Cafe, where Lorraine is sitting with her friends, and tells him to head inside and ask her out. George admits he doesn't know how -- Marty suggests he say whatever comes to mind. "Nothing's coming to my mind!"
"Jesus George, it was a wonder I was even born." Marty eventually provides George with a script ("tell her destiny brought you together") and pushes him inside. The place is full of people, the jukebox going and Goldie dancing as he brings over orders. George orders a chocolate milk to help bolster his courage, and after a quick gulp, nervously approaches Lorraine, notes held in front of him. He utterly flubs his lines, but manages to make a positive impression on Lorraine. Just as it seems things will go well, Biff Tannen shows up with his cronies. He bullies George, demanding money. An annoyed Marty trips Biff as he goes past, then tricks Biff with "What the hell is that?" and punches him. He then flees, shoving over Biff's gang. Lorraine is very impressed.
Outside, Marty waves down two kids on homemade scooters and pulls the top off one, creating an early skateboard. By this time Biff and his goons have recovered and are chasing after Marty. Marty hops on his skateboard and deftly outmanuevers them, hitching a ride on a passing truck and amazing the kids in Lou's. Biff and his cronies pile into Biff's Ford and start chasing Marty all over the square. Marty is forced to jump a hedge to try and flee them, and accidentally smacks into some people exiting the courthouse. Biff catches up, making Marty hang onto the front of his car to avoid being run over. Biff plans to ram Marty into a nearby truck -- Marty has other ideas. He hops off the skateboard and runs over the top of the convertible, landing on the skateboard on the other side. Biff and his gang crash into the truck -- which turns out to be hauling manure. Marty gives the skateboard to the impressed kid and leaves. Lorraine vows to find out where Marty lives, while George slips away, humiliated again.
Back at Doc's place, Marty catches Doc watching the end of the tape on the first experiment -- right before Doc85 is shot. Marty attempts to warn Doc about his future fate, but Doc will have none of it. He changes the subject to the plan to get Marty home, showing Marty a surprisingly elaborate model ("Please excuse the crudity of this model, I didn't have time to build it to scale or to paint it.") The plan is to run some industrial strength cable from the top of the Clock Tower down to the street, suspending it between two lampposts. The DeLorean itself has been outfitted with a big pole and hook which runs directly into the flux capacitor. Marty will drive the DeLorean down the street toward the cable. At 10:04 P.M., lightning will strike the Clock Tower, electrifying the cable just as the connecting hook makes contact, sending the necessary 1.21 jigawatts into the flux capacitor and sending Marty back to 1985. Doc demonstrates, having Marty wind up a suitably-modified toy car while he simulates the lighting. The demonstration doesn't go so well -- the toy car catches on fire and ignites some rags in Doc's garbage can. Doc quickly puts out the flames, however, promising Marty that he'll take care of the lightning, Marty just has to take care of his father. "By the way, what happened today, did he ask her out?"
"I, uh, think so."
"What did she say?"
Right about then, Lorraine shows up at the door. Doc and Marty quickly cover the DeLorean before letting her in. Marty asks how Lorraine knew he was here -- Lorraine admits to following him. Marty introduces Doc as his uncle. Lorraine asks Marty if he'll take her to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. Marty is stunned to find that no one's asked her yet, and asks about George. Lorraine admits he's cute, but she prefers a man who's strong and can stand up for himself. Marty shares a look with Doc and agrees to take her.
Note: Future Features seems to indicate that the George scene takes place on the 8th too -- I'm with the novel on this, though, and say it takes place the 9th.
Played a good amount of Strangetown today -- Ariana Roase and the McFly-Browns. Ariana had a good day -- she started out by painting, and moved on to a bit of juggling to satisfy a want.
I love those PJs I gave her -- very realistic.

Anyway, Ariana eventually wetnt to work after some cereal -- she came home with a friend named Korey Simpson. And judging from his clothes, he's a Mr. Big. (WTF is Mr. Big doing in the Slacker career?) Ariana and Korey hit it off, chatting about sports and fashion.
Ari eventually sent him home and took a nap after getting cleaned up. After she woke up and took care of a few household chores, I sent her out on the town again. First stop was Comeandgo Emporium -- which turned out to be a rather small, sparse shop.
It had a TV though, so it worked for Ari -- she watched for a bit and held a small conversation with a woman in her PJs.

-M: A townie was out like that?-
Yeppers. :p Vidcund Curious was also there, as well as -- Jim Hardname! I promptly had Jim and Ari get to know each other even better. Ariana also did some freestyling for tips, also to fulfill a want. Pleasure Sims get cool wants.
I also had Ari check Jim out -- they're a solid two-bolts on the chemistry scale. :)
After buying a bit of cologne, Ari visited Bernard's Bonatical Dining for a meal. She ended up ordering some omlettes and making nice with the waiter.
I also spotted an interesting fellow diner -- Bella Goth! Apparently dining with a Townie Friend.
Ariana took some pictures and used the bathroom before going back home. Both sets of photobook pictures went up on her wall -- I plan to add one with her and Jim once they can be an item (Mystie and Jim break up). Then it was gelatin, a call to Jim, and bed for Ari.

I know, I went a little crazy. :p It suits her, though.
Over at the Strangetown Brown-McFlys, I realized that, hey, the family's rich. Why are they living in drywall again?
Though in my defense, I play with walls down, so I don't think about it half the time. The morning was spent in the usual -- skill earning, funning, bathroom duties.
Marty called his friend Blair before he and Eileen went off to school, leaving the adults to amuse themselves. Lorraine and George played instruments together while Doc and Mystie over for a little hanky-panky.
-VD: Damn, that's not real hanky-panky.-
Heh, sowwy. After that it was naptime so everyone would be reasonably awake -- it was Eileen's birthday. Marty got the "bake sale" message and gained a cooking skill point before coming home, woohoo. Eileen followed soon after, and in due time everyone was gathered around the birthday cake (Doc and Lorraine having used vacation days).
And just like that, Eileen became a teenager.
She's a Family Sim, and wants six grandkids.
-M: Heh, she definitely takes after Mom.-
-VuM: Looks a bit like Linda, too.-
Heh, yeah, I know. I changed her hairstyle, but forgot to get a shot until she was in bed.
Marty went out with a friend (pre Nightlife style), George went to work, and Doc practiced Charisma while the girls hit the sack.
Eventually the rest of the family did too. Poor Marty, it's so hard to keep him hapy sometimes. :( He's stuck in almost permanent green unless I can get him to sell a masterpiece. College soon I think.

Heh, well, I needed something to do while the computer was done. I need an adapter plug to plug the thing in, and the one I was using before wasn't doing so good -- the plug was crackling when I turned the strip on. All better now.

Awww. *patpat* If it makes you feel better, I'm almost done with "Eight Arms."
