Mom's Birthday Today
Jan. 27th, 2006 10:38 pmHappy Birthday Mom!
-M: How old is she?-
46 I believe.
-VuM: Hey, almost as old as Mom and Dad.-
Yup. :p We got her her Willy Wonka DVD, and we all had some ice cream cake tonight. Mom also set up a little party for my cousin -- her birthday is tomorrow, and she wanted to do something special. It was all right, though my cousin was acting a little bratty.
-J: Well, she is FOUR.-
I know, I know.
Because of the party obligations and such, I did some building in Hill Valley. I like building in Hill Valley -- I get to design stuff from my favorite movie, and in some cases, I get to build my own stuff too.
-VM: I don't mind you building your own -- keeps you away from the Pleasure Paradise.-
LoL. Anyway, I did some work on Burger King and Oak Park Cemetary today. I mostly designed the interior of the Burger King (though I think I'm probably going to have to move it closer to the right corner when I finish designing -- it seems too close to the Doc Brown Garage lot). I went with a red theme with lots of windows, trying to remember the fast food restaurants I myself have eaten in.
Walls and Doors up -- once I rewatch BTTF, I'll redo the exterior to look more like the BK (or what we see of it). (Should also revisit my Trilogy locations site, come to think of it.)
Interior shots -- you may notice that part of the floor is slightly different in the main eating area? I marked out the main "order" aisle first, then decided to use a different floor for the rest of it, just for fun. I think it's a nice little restaurant, if incomplete.
-M: Needs wall speakers.-
I'll get around to it.
I worked on the Park aspect of Oak Park at the moment, creating a nice little coffee shop for my Sims to hang out when they're not running distraught through the graveyard. Which can't happen yet since I have no graves. Hmmm, must play elderly families more.
-M2: Hey, we've gotten rather attached to Seamus.-
I'll do my best to make sure that he and Maggie get Hula Zombies.
Exterior shot -- it's a quiet place to hang out.
Walls-up Interiors -- like the decorations?
Walls-down Interiors -- as you can see, there's not much to do besides get coffee and read. I'm thinking of adding outdoor barbeques and a swing set.
-VD2: What about the actual cemetary part?-
I remembered that was on a hill of some sort -- at least, you walked up a slope to get to Marty. Part of the lot is raised, so I'll use that for the graves and fence it off.
Special Bonus Pic: It's time for Fun With The Terrain Tool!

I was trying to raise more of the lot to make it "hilly", but I got distracted playing with the raise and lower options. I didn't realize you could basically make a mini mountain range!
-TD: Hey, that's neat.-
Yeah, I know. :D I gotta try this out with a building lot -- on the Burger King Lot I discovered columns that make arches, so now I want to do some sort of castle.
-DW: Ten bucks says it goes in Twin Oaks Park.-
Most probably, yeah. *blush* Unless I give in and get Open for Business (must be strong, must remember lack of harddrive space), then I'll use that new neighborhood for lot building.
-DW: That'll make for interesting plot bunnies.-
I'm sure it will.
Tired now, and I have work tomorrow. :( And after Sunday I start my new, longer hours of 9 to 3.
-D: A little work won't kill you.-
Oh, it's not the work, it's the MIND-NUMBING BOREDOM.
-D: Huh?-
The place has been DEAD for a while now. Granted, I don't like it when it's OMGSOBUSY, but damn, long periods of nothing to do is just as bad. Thank God for the paper.
-VD2: Try to sneak in fan fic?-
LoL, dunno if I could.
-TD: Still working on "Boy Genius" I hope.-
Yup. Also edited some "V.D." And I swear on the DeLorean that I'm going to post that first chapter of "Boy Genius" to the GGFanFic group tomorrow. I may watch Willy Wonka and play Sims, but at some point, it's going up.
-H: Finally!-
