crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (In a sarcastic mood)

-DW: o.O-
-MDC: Can I set it on fire?-
Go ahead.
-MDC: Yay! *gets matches*-
-D: *stopping MiniDamosCrawler* Okay, what's wrong?-
That stupid "apostrophes are question marks" thing is back again! And it seems to be affecting random stories and title pages -- I can't see any real similarities between the stories affected!
-VD: O.o That is odd. Why do you suppose it does that?-
I don't know, but I'm pissed! It's affecting multi-chapters -- I can't go and change all the apostrophes! I guess I'll have to reupload the affected stories (I can redo the title pages, those are easier) and e-mail the site asking WTF is going on.
-TD: See, that's the problem with modern technology. If something goes wrong, you can't find what exactly you need to fix or figure out exactly how to fix it. With steampunk, everything is available for your persual.-
Rub it in, why don't you.
-TD: I wouldn't be a Spark if I didn't boast about the superiority of my technology.-
*giggle*
-VD2: It won't be so bad -- you have all your stories sorted and such, and you know exactly how to make them into webpages.-
True -- but still, it's annoying! Mostly because those stories were FINE before. I know they didn't have question marks the last time I looked at them! *grumblemutter*
-VD2: Take your mind off it by writing something on "Dusky Past."-
-OD: Or drawing DocWolf and your skunk version some more. You seem to be improving with anthromorphics. *tentacles nodnod*-
Heh, thanks. I'm getting more comfortable with him -- did some research on wolves to help get a firmer characterization in my head of him.
-DW: About that -- I understand that wolves generally hunt large prey, but don't go using that as an excuse to create plotdeer or anything like that. I subsist just fine on the rabbits.-
I thought about it, but then I remembered that you are, technically, a lone wolf and more suited to catching smaller prey.
-DW: Thank you.-
-D: You spent a lot of time web browsing -- did you get any fan fiction work done?-
A bit of editing on "V.D.," some new stuff on "BTTX-2," and I started a new story to help work out my anthro thoughts -- "My, What Big Teeth You Have."
-TD: What's that about? Are you giving DocWolf a solid home universe?-
I'm working on it, but "Big Teeth" is actually about DocWolf's introduction to the muse world.
-OD: *tentacles squeak* Another muse story? About time!-
Heh, yeah, I know. It was actually going to see how yours, "An Extremely Crowded Mind," was set up that alerted me to the apostrophe problem. *sigh* Well, I guess this does allow me to change a few minor mistakes in the stories as well. For example, "Extremely Crowded Mind" needs to have the author changed from my devART name to my fanfiction one.
-TD: *curious* Will we all have a muse story at some point?-
Sort of -- here's the list:

  • "The Originals" -- this is about Doc, VampDoc, and VampDoc2. They were all around at the beginning, so I'm writing about these three together. It'll focus on my former LJ crew (which included the cast of "Terminator 2" and "Animaniacs") leaving.
  • "My, What Big Teeth You Have" -- this is about DocWolf and MiniDamosCrawler. They both came at around the same time period. It'll focus on DocWolf's introduction and the "Flaming Tail" incident.
    -MDC: *snigger*-
    -DW: *growl*-
  • "An Extremely Crowded Mind" -- this is about OckDoc. This is the one that's written, it focuses on OckDoc's unusual introduction as "the plotbunny that wouldn't go away."
  • "Musevolution" -- this is about TeenDoc. It'll focus on his sudden introduction and his evolution from "regular" to "Sparky."

*looks at list* Hmm. Considering things, I might just give "Extremely Crowded Mind" a revamp to make it into a two-parter -- the other stories seem to tend that way. Especially "Musevolution."
-OD: We won't complain, trust us.-
:p Anyway, off to work on "Dusky Past" to keep VampDoc2 happy.

What program do you use to format your pages? Perhaps it's incompatible with your site editor.

I use WordPerfect's "convert to HTML" feature, and I do a little further editing (e.g., making the links work) in the actual site file manager. I don't know if that's it, though, as not ALL my stories are affected, and they were all made the same way. *sigh* I hate websites sometimes. . . .

Wow, that is weird. I hope you can get this resolved soon.

Well, I sent an e-mail to them, and I'll be reuploading the affected stories to see if that helps.

Crossing my fingers. I know what kind of a apin in the butt these sites can be. It could be worse, though. Be glad that your server didn't randomly delete your site.

That's why I have a folder in "My eBooks" labeled "Website Info." I've backed up everything I can in there.
