Hallo Weekend
Jun. 2nd, 2006 11:00 pm-D: Hopefully your weekend will be more productive than today.-
-OD: *tentacles squee* Though thank you for taking my fan art suggestion.-
You're welcome. It felt good to sketch out the Girl Genius Puppet Pals. I've got Agatha, Gilgamesh, a dingbot (which is a fingerpuppet, naturally), and a Jaeger.
-TD: *looks* Not any Jaeger I recognize.-
He's a random Jaeger. Let's call him Borsch.
-H: Borsch the Jaeger. I can see it.-
-E: I assume this "Borsch" will get some sort of cameo in "Boy Genius."-
Well, now that you've brought it up. . . .
-DW: *devours a plot bunny* Another NonTrilogy idea -- and again, all about "Tomorrow Came Again" and "Definition of a Friend!" What's with the sudden influx?-
Recent fan fiction reading. Don't worry, they should be gone by Monday.
-MDC: X-Men, whoo! *waves a match like a torch*-
Um -- Nightcrawler's not in this one.
-MDC: *stare* Huh?-
I know! :( Give me my Kuroro, damn it!
-M2: Kuroro? When the hell did you become Japanese?-
Kurt/Ororo, silly.
-VD: What, no silly HMS name?-
Hmmm. . . . Hard to come up with one that sounds decent.
-DW: We're sure you'll think of something.-
Heh, yeah. Hopefully it'll be a good movie anyway. *fingers crossed*
-VD2: Yes, apparently the third part of a trilogy is the hardest to sell. Even our own Part III didn't do so well, did it?-
Yeah, unfortunately. I believe the Bobs blamed the way Part II was marketed -- as a stand alone, not as Part I of the sequels -- and that hurt Part III's chances. Still, it did pretty damn well -- 88 million.
-M: Hey, the magic number.-
Precisely. :) And Part III certainly wasn't a bad movie. Let's hope X-3 is just as good.
-MF: *fingers crossed* Yeah, if only for the sake of our sanity.-
Aw, come on, don't you guys like X-Men?
-D: It is a rather intriguing series. I like the science.-
Well, Hank McCoy's in this one.
-VD: Oh, wonderful!-
It was another day with Joe Statler at Statler Motors! He's getting marginally more sucessful at running his business. There was actually a silver of green on his cash flow bar today.
-OD: Good for him, I suppose.-
Heh. I woke him up around six and had him fortify himself for the day.

Then it was off to the car lot to try and sell some more cars to townies. Amin Sims showed up immediately, as did Abijheet. Joe's friendly with Amin, so I had him talk the guy up.

Maggie McFly also entered the lot -- and whoa, heartsbubble for Joe?! Weirdly enough, once he met her, they had NEGATIVE chemistry. Huh.
-D: Maybe it's like Calvin and Suzy of the FurKin -- the attraction rating will reverse after a period of time.-
Hmm, perhaps.

Anyway, soon it was time to sell cars. Joe lead Amin to the Smoogo Abijheet was ogling, while Maggie contemplated a pick-up truck.

Abijheet bought the Smoogo -- Joe restocked as Amin wandered off. He then approached Maggie and tried to talk her into buying the pick-up.

She wouldn't hear any of it, though. She eventually left the lot empty-handed. Luckily, both Amin and Abijheet were buying. Joe awkwardly rang them up, gaining his bronze Register badge in the process.

While he was doing that, Joey Baines entered the lot, and began considering a Smoogo. Silly Joey, you guys already have a car!

Joey bought the car anyway. Luckily, I have a nice little hack that makes it possible for non-controllable player-sims to purchase things at community lots, yet not actually retain them. Worked like a charm. :) And hey, Joe still gets the money from the sale!

Amin remained on the lot, taking silly pictures of himself and shooting the breeze with Joe. Don't you have a job, Amin? I mean, you're wearing that police uniform. . . .
-J: Maybe he got my father and Marty's great-grandpa to cover for him.-

Joe kept his little lot open until nightfall, though he didn't make any more sales after Joey. It's worth noting that Brandon Lillard is the only Sim I've seen ogle the Sports car.

And then, Joe headed home. I've really gotta send him there just to build again -- his needs were SHITTY when he got back home. He had to make toaster pastries and a TV dinner within minutes of each other to keep from starving. *makes notes to add an employee-locked break room with grill or stove, toilet, TV, and other need-fulfilling things*

Luckily, Joe recovered nicely. He took a phone call from Amin after getting himself cleaned up -- and why do ALL my Sims have that expression when they first get on the phone?! I'm serious, the other party never starts off with a topic they like!

Then it was time to fiddle around on the guitar. That guy really needs more practice.

After getting his fun up and taking care of his fish, it was time for a nap. I let him sleep until 7. He took care of chores once he got up, then made himself some dinner (FINALLY earning a cooking point) and played the guitar some more.

Then right before returning to bed, he called up Abijheet to talk. I'm trying to make him chat up a few of his customers -- maybe then he won't have Basic Sell rejected all the time.
-VD: Do you know for sure that they'll return?-
Well, Amin has showed up twice now. . . .

And then. I know, not exactly a thrilling day. Good practice for DocBots, though.
-VDM: When are you opening that store, anyway?-
Not for a few SimDays yet. Doc and Julia need to make stock, and of course I have the rotation to consider. At least now the households are a little more compact -- the parent Robinsons and parent Parkers can share a day, easy.
-VuM: Why not my family with the Parkers?-
Baker's Dozen, remember? I'm doing the house remodel tomorrow!
-VuM: Oh, yeah.-
-AJ: This should be interesting.-
*yawn* Tired. Bed soon.
-TD: Don't forget to write some more on "Boy Genius" first.-
-D: And if you do nothing else, type a little more up on "The Originals." At least that involves all of us.-
Heh, well, "the originals" are you, VampDoc, and VampDoc2.
-VD: We didn't mean that strictly literally. Now go on, write something.-
Okay, okay. See you all later.
-OD: *tentacles squee* Though thank you for taking my fan art suggestion.-
