I'm blaming "that time of the month" for its disappearance. :( Bleh.
-D: *sigh*-
-M: At least we get to watch "Whose Line?"-
All is not lost -- I did do some editing/additions on "The Originals."
*muses perk up*
-OD: Well that's good then. How about a bit on "Hoverboards?"-
I'm trying to avoid redrawing the picture yet again. . . .
-OD: *tentacles squeak-squeak* The kids think maybe you should do something else and come BACK to "Hoverboards."-
It's a thought, yes.
-VD: Have you even looked at the notes for my story?-
Yeah, I've been seeing what I can apply and where. I'll try to get something more done with that tonight.
-VD2: Drabbles 88?-
Actually, I have gotten another one written:
16. Parents
I always thought I knew my parents pretty well. There was Dad -- the boring, shy man who couldn’t say “no” to save his life. The guy who watched old 50s TV shows and laughed like he had the hiccups. The guy who was constantly bullied by almost everyone who knew him.
Then there was Mom -- the overweight, burned out woman who drank way too much for her own good. The gal who complained constantly about “girls today” and never cooked if she could help it. The gal who fell in love with Dad but couldn’t quite remember how.
And then -- I went back to 1955. And I found out things about my parents that I never knew before. Like Dad wrote science fiction stories, and actually had the guts to spy on women with his binoculars. Like Mom was a lot more aggressive than most “girls today,” and had a real rebellious streak.
And when I came back after fixing them up, I had to get to know them all over again. Dad was now a confident author who didn’t take any crap from anybody. And Mom was a tennis player who was healthy and sober. It was a shock -- a pleasant shock, but a shock nonetheless.
But you know what? I don’t mind. I like getting to know these new, better versions of my parents. And it’s not like everything has changed. Dad still laughs like he’s hiccuping.
-M: *laugh* I like that.-
Thanks, so do I. I'm trying to think up stories for the other prompts.
-TD: You can't come up with anything for "Brown" still?-
I know it's both your last name and your eye color -- that doesn't mean I'll automatically come up with a story!
-DW: What about the
backtothefanfic challenge fic?-
Still need a title. :( I know what I want to write, but I can't think of a title. Bleh.
-DW+MF: *start sniffing out title bunnies*-
-VD2: If you do nothing else, just try to get another drabble done.-
*salutes* I'll do my best.
To prove I haven't been totally lazy, I direct you over to
revison_doc. Jenny Sprays and Suzy Kittencall of the Furkin have successfully rushed the Greek House, and Mark and Kat continue to have rather boring lives.
-TD: What's happening with my clank?-
You mean Verne? I'm hoping to get him up and running the next time I play your house. *crosses fingers for a gold robotery badge* I have a hack for getting the cash register badge easier, my problem is stock!
-M2: Isn't Julia helping out?-
She is, but she's only Bronze at the moment. And she can't stay forever.
-D: Well, Gypsy will be joining the family relatively soon. . . .-
True, I need to get that house a Robotics station so she can build up. She'll help run the store in the early days, then help with stock once she has kids. The half-siblings will also help out once they hit teenagerdom, like Julia.
-VuM: Still planning on a Martina?-
I hope so. :) I'd like to balance Doc's kids -- alien girl, robot boy, normal girl, normal boy (not necessarily in that order).
-DW: What would I name a child, though? I've used up Jules and Verne.-
-OD: *tentacles chatter* There's always Albert and Thomas for a boy.-
Along with Johannes or Johanna.
-TD: Why are you obsessed with Kepler?-
-VD: Shared birthday.-
-TD: Ooooh.-
*giggle* This reminds me, I need to come up with possible names for the FurKin offspring. I think I have all the other kids covered at the moment.
-VD2: All of them? Not big on breeding, are you?-
For neighborhood control mostly. I've already adapted one couple into an official fanon childfree couple.
-M: *curious* Who?-
Dave McFly and April Robinson.
-M2: *nodnod* Yeah, I can see that.-
Yeah, they prefer career to kids. Not that April won't encourage her "I want both" sister. :)
-D: April seems like a nice girl.-
Yeah -- I've got this vision in my head of her being a bit of a party girl. But she's the first one in Gypsy's family to take to you, Doc.
-D: *grin* And since you've warned me Marie's named after Marie Barone. . . .-
She'll get used to you. :p
