Drabbles88/Weasley Brothers
Jul. 11th, 2006 09:56 pm19. Death
Sometimes, in the middle of the night, he has to get up and walk around. He has to reassure himself that yes, he is still here, he is still alive. That he isn’t somehow imagining all this during his final moments on earth.
He’s supposed to be dead.
Worse yet, he’s supposed to be dead twice.
He knows it’s a rather ludicrous thought. Marty has changed things both times using his DeLorean. He isn’t supposed to be dead according to the current timeline. But still, the thought comes.
So he gets up and wanders around, touches the walls and furniture, reminds himself that he is still alive, and that he’s living what amounts to his dream life.
And Doc Brown wonders. . .what really will happen to him when his time finally comes.
45. How?
“And that is how you perform CPR!”
Lester Dawkings grinned at the class. “All right, now line up and we’ll practice on the dummy. Line up now, line up.”
The teenagers got into a rough approximation of a line. Lester pulled the first kid forward and watched as he breathed into the dummy’s mouth. This one had been paying attention. Unlike those giggling girls in the back. And that punk in the middle. . . .
“Hey, Mr. Dawkings!” the punk called. “Wouldn’t it be easier to punch the guy in the face? I know that would wake me up!”
There were a few titters from the rest of the class. Lester sighed. “I wouldn’t recommend following the Klein method of CPR, Mr. Needles. Your victim would just hunt you down.”
Needles blinked. “Klein method?”
“The first time I ever heard of CPR, it was through a kid I later found out was named Calvin Klein,” Lester explained. “He used it to cover up punching the school bully and taking his wallet.” Lester frowned. “I know he took his wallet, but no one listened to me! Not even Biff! Why didn’t he care that Calvin took his wallet?” He sighed and shook his head. “That’s why I went to law school. I didn’t think I had the nerve for police work, so it was law school. Now I can make sure anyone who’s lost a wallet -- or anything else valuable -- can find justice.”
A few kids shared strange looks. Probably they didn’t understand how important wallets were. Your whole life was contained inside there! “And you teach CPR on the side?” someone else asked.
“Giving back to the community!” He grinned down at his first student. “Very nice, Mr. McFly. You can sit back down.”
Marty McFly grinned back up at him. “Thanks.” He got up and went back to his seat, smirking. “Oh, by the way, I heard that it wasn’t his wallet. It was a sports book.”
Lester was unbalanced for a moment. Then he shook his head rapidly. “Klein probably took both. He seemed like that kind of kid. He took both. Mr. Andrews?” He watched as the next student took his turn, oblivious to Marty’s laughter.
-M: Yay new drabbles88.-
:) I'm still working on more prompts.
-D: So far they all seem to be about Trilogy.-
I'm still figuring out how to make some of them AU. "If" would be a good prompt for that, and so would "choices."
-VD: As long as you keep writing.-
*salutes* Yes sir, of course, sir.
-VD2: . . . You were watching Whose Line? again, weren't you?-
Come on, Ael showed me some funny clips I hadn't seen before.
-VD2: *sigh*-
-TD: At least she got more "Boy Genius" done.-
Yeah, and I have to write more on "Misery Journey" as well. And "V.D.," I didn't forget.
-VD: *grin*-
-DW: What about these "Musevolution" and "Cut Scenes with Klaus" plot bunnies?-
Hide them, I've got enough on my plate!
-MF: Wank explosions?-
That's routine by this point. (Yeah, still reading HMS STFU regularly) I'm talking about my Sims, which have less complicated lives. I entered the Weasley house today with the goal of getting some more pledges, and succeeded admirably.
We started the day with some brotherly bonding over bubbles. Everyone loves bubbles!

As day broke, the boys got the studious stuff out the way -- Percy finished his term paper while Fred and George did assignments.

Then I had them get on the phones and start inviting their closest non-friends. Percy had Aiden over first.

Unfortunately, despite a lot of talking and joking, Aiden did not become a friend, and rejected Percy's "Ask to Pledge" attempt.

Fred and George had much more luck. Fred quickly managed to befriend Shelby -- turns out she has an interest in the paranormal. Too bad she has negative chemistry with the twins, she might have made a good mate. (Though that pic with him talking about the ghosts seems a mite out of character. :p)

And while Fred chatted up Shelby, George had his almost-friend Sheila over. Unsure what her chemistry score is.

They quickly started the games -- Fred and Shelby pillow-fighting, George and Sheila kick-bag.

Eventually, the girls were about mid-level friends. Time to get them to pledge! The girls promptly accepted, bringing the number of pledges up to 3. (Their friendships also got the Greek House up to level 2, yayz.)

The twins, always ones to take advantage of a good situation, set the girls to work. Shelby finished Fred's term paper while he went to class, while Sheila did one of George's assigments. Percy tried to get Shelby to fix the broken tub as well, but she didn't have the mechanical skills.

Of course, what goes around comes around -- Shelby raided the money trees for compensation before leaving.

Fred returned to class, but immediately revisited campus for pizza. The joy of living in a Greek House.

Once George and Percy arrived home, the boys kicked back for a bit (even Percy -- he was hungry), then did a bit of preemptive skill-building before bed.

George, however, was forced to get up early -- he was the only one with an unfinished term paper, and I wanted him to get the same grades as his brothers from now on. (If you recall, his first semester he only got an A -- so far, he's my only Sim without a 4.0 average.)

Luckily, he finished with a bit of time to spare -- some time on the bubble machine with his brothers fixed his fun problem, and he managed to even grab some breakfast before finals.

Everyone came home with A+s -- Fred promptly visited campus for more pizza, while George and Percy ran to their current class (hate when the final overlaps the new class time). I took a moment to look at everyone's wants and to refurbish the house a little. New beds, new toilet, and a small games room (because Fred and George wanted electronic entertainment). Starting to look a bit more like a Greek House.

The boys all eventually came home, and I put them to work getting skills for class. That's where I saved.

-M: Only a level 2?-
I know, I need to get them to meet more people. At least I already have a future holder picked out.
-VM: What about Strangetown SimMe? Will I join, like I'm planning to in Twin Oaks Park?-
Probably, yeah. You are Popularity, after all. *reminds self to visit the Urele House/46 Focaccia Road and see what level that's at*
Now, back to the world of writing. Gotta make up a bit for my lazybones weekend.
-OD: *tentacles pokepoke* Damn straight.-
-DW: And stop watching Whose Line? already!-
I like Whose Line?! So do you guys!
-OD: That's the problem!-
It's Whose Line? or CRFH! repeats.
-M2: *jokingly* Why not both?-
I do have two windows open. . . .
-VD: Thank you very much, Marty.-
-M2: *headdesk*-
