Holy Crap, Productivity?
Aug. 20th, 2006 10:59 pm-D: You actually got things done?-
Quiet day out there. I ended up getting a few things done:
-->My August
backtothefanfic challenge fic is now at 971 words. I may have to settle for that. (Sheesh, never thought I'd be UNDER a wordcount. . . .) Still titleless, but watching the showdown did help me finish it up.
-->We've got a new Drabbles88!
anonymoose_au, this one's for you:
13. Lovers
His kiss is like fire. I never would have expected it from someone like him. He seems so shy, and just a little bit -- nerdy, I suppose. But his kiss is passionate, loving, the very definition of romance. It speaks to me in a way no other boy’s kiss has. I can picture us growing old together, with three kids and a house and maybe even a dog. He’s the one. I know it.
We separate, and George smiles at me. I smile back, feeling utterly blissful. Lorraine Alice Baines McFly. Sounds to me like the beginning of something wonderful.
-M: Alice?-
It's what I picked when writing the character bios.
-VM: It sounds like Mom, yeah.-
-->Got the half-page done in "The Gift and the Curse," and I'll be doing a little more on it later
-->Updated
revison_doc -- a short one on the Robinson/McFly/Parker college family. I figured we could use one after all the pictures of yesterday.
-M: So I haven't rushed yet, huh?-
Nope, but you did call Marion and Kitty and got some daily with them. Next time I play, you'll rush them.
-VD: That should be interesting.-
Heh, I'm already planning toga parties.
-->RPD also inspired me to get a lot done with Eureka -- we now have one modified premade lot, and two whole new lots for the main neighborhood.

I updated the micro mall that comes with Open For Business -- I turned one relatively unused room into a library/bookstore, replaced most of the registers with old-time ones, and switched the monkey on the room for a knight. It's actually built very well, if designed to be owned by someone. It'll do though, there's enough normal places to shop.

This is Stoker's Grocery, one of two groceries in Eureka. (The other is RPG Foods.) I went with a blue and yellow color scheme, mostly. I tried to make it look something like the grocery stores I've been in -- hence the bookshelves and the shelves with electronics, and the coffee nook. I think it came out pretty well. I also used some of the Storybook themed items to give it some Victorian flavor.

This gloomy place is Van Dort Clothing. Yes, I do like Corpse Bride, and yes, I think Victor is damn cute. Since the living world in that movie was rather dark and depressing, I went with a black and grey theme, with the occasional splash of color here and there. It's on a cosy little lot with no room for a bathroom -- I'll have to watch that when I send my Sims shopping here.
So yeah, a good day for Sims. Thanks RPD.
-TD: You sent him to Michigan to haunt
martyfan's bosses, remember?-
Oh, yeah. Ael, tell him thanks from me.
-->Updated the Muse Bios to include RPD and his story.
-MDC: Website stuff! That's new!-
I'm gonna try for a "V.D." update soon. Working on revisions right now.
-VD: *grin*-
-->And more pictures, to make OckDoc happy.
-OD: *tentacles chatter in surprise* Fan art AND "The Gift and the Curse?" We're stunned.-
Yeah, I know. :p

RPD, as he usually looks, though lately he's taken to manifesting feet and hiding the suicide wounds.
-M2: Hey, those cuts are creepy as hell.-
-VuM: Why suicide?-
Because I didn't come up with a non-lethal option until the following afternoon, after I posted.

Sprite doodles! We have sprites for Doc and for Marty, as well as a few sprite cartoons. I dunno if any of you will be able to read my handwriting, though. These were scribbled while at work. Some highlights:
>Doc's Common Sense and Insanity are natural enemies. Insanity also doesn't get along all that well with Left Brain
>Marty was horrified to learn that his Geekiness resembled him posing as George McFly. Geekiness tried to reassure him with his cool wing harness.
-VuM: Hey!-
-OD: So Geekiness is just me and VultureMarty in hornrims?-
Basically. Come on, Marvel is a tad geeky.
-VuM: *rolls eyes*-
>Clara Sprites also show up -- Marty's Right Brain sings while Doc and Clara's Right Brains dance, and Clara's Evil side poses for Doc's Right Brain
>Doc and Marty's Insanitys working together? Scares EVERYONE.
-VD2: As well it should.-
I'll be uploading these to my devART scraps later, with captions of the cartoons.

And finally, a colored Sprite -- naturally, I had to do Doc's Insanity first. He's definitely not drawn Narbonic style, but chibi-like works for these guys, don'tcha think?
-OD: I like the wings, very nice.-
-DW: He looks very -- out there.-
Well, he's the part of you that suggests stuff like popcorn-flavored ice cream and time trains. Basically, he's responsible for your mad science. I'll be doing the whole set, along with Marty's, later on.
-MF: Cool.-
So yeah, fairly productive day. Now hopefully this threatening thunderstorm will clear out so I won't have to turn off the computer and I can get some more done with editing.
-VD: *tries to call Storm so she can redirect it*-
