-D: Our Creator Is -- Indisposed-
Sep. 21st, 2006 11:13 pm*faraway shout of "Put me down, damn it! I am your creator! You must obey me!"*
-D: I'm here to keep you all entertained while the others deal with her.-
*faraway: "Why the hell don't you go pick on
missnickers?"*
-D: Frankly, I'm not sure what to do.-
*faraway: "What is that? And where does it go?"*
-D: . . . Anyone read any good books lately?-
*faraway: "You put me down this instant!"*
-D: I've recently started rereading my Jules Verne, only this time in the original French. It's rather interesting to compare the various translations.-
*faraway: "You people ever want any sex again?"*
-D: I've also started on H.G. Wells's The Time Machine. I'm thinking of asking Victoria if we can rent the cinematic version. Original or remake. Heck, maybe original AND remake, just to compare.-
*faraway: "That's right, busters, I know your weakness. Now put me down."*
-D: Or perhaps we should rent -- what was it called again? -- oh yes, Time After Time. Mary Steenburgen is in that -- it would be interesting to see her in sort of the "opposite Clara" role. Opposite meaning she's from the future, not the past.-
*faraway: "Wait, not there! OOF!"*
-D: Actually, there's something we've been meaning to see. Victoria's been wondering about facial similarities between the girls. We know Josephine looks like Sam Carter, aka Amanda Tapping, but there may be a few similarities between Gypsy and Clara.-
*faraway: "And you wonder why I'm not writing. I nearly completed another drabbles88 today, you know. And you, TeenDoc, I got Chapter 8 of "Boy Genius" ready to go."*
-D: *shrug* I'm not sure myself, but I wouldn't mind. Gypsy IS supposed to be some sort of grand-niece of hers.-
*faraway: "And besides, that stupid piece is a BIRTHDAY artwork. I don't put those up on devART, you know that."*
-D: You know, it's funny, but having April grow up into the Josephine hairstyle really helped solidify the fact the girls are all related. I wonder what it is about the bloodline we're attracted to.-
*faraway: "No, I don't feel that way about any of your kids. The only one who comes close is Jules Erosthanes, and he taxes even MY tolerance for the science talk. So calm down, the only one I want to do is you."*
-D: So far, the only common threads we've found are a love of Jules Verne and a relatively adventurous nature. None of them look all that alike, and they're a living height scale -- Mysteria is 5 feet 5 inches, because she was described as short; Josephine is 5ft 6in, as stated in "World of Light;" Gypsy is 5ft 7 in, as Victoria wanted her to be tall, and Clara is 5ft 8 in, because that's what Mary Steenburgen is in real life. Weird, huh?-
*faraway: "So can I get back to my shorts now? I wanna rewatch 'This is Coffee' at least before bed."*
-D: Anyway, we're planning on taking the train out later--
*reappearing, dishelved* Take it out now and get out of my hair.
-D: *surprised* Wasn't expecting you back until--
I threatened no "conjugal" visits for a month. Go on and get out of here, it'll make you feel better.
-D: A month?! Great Scott!-
Yeah, I know what makes you tick. Now scat so I can pretend to finish my writing in peace.
*Doc scats, muttering to himself about a month of no sex*
Sorry about that folks -- as I predicted, the boys took exception to my birthday gift to Miss Nickers. For those not in the know, a few months ago, Miss Nickers compared herself to the TAS version of Jennifer (whom she does resemble). A conversation about the TAS started in the comments, and somewhere along the line she revealed she wanted to do an older Verne, as well as a younger Doc. My mind latched onto this. So when I discovered her birthday was today, I knew exactly what to do:

Verne should know better than to even think lines like that. :p
Anyway, new story thing -- I'm setting up a monthly goal. Each month, I shall complete:
1. One chapter of "V.D." edits
2. One chapter of "Boy Genius"
3. One
backtothefanfic challenge fic
4. Two drabbles88 mini-stories
I can write other things, of course -- I'm tempted to get going on some more "Tales of the Muses" -- but I'm really gonna try to fulfill that goal for each month. Maybe it'll help with the slow periods. At any rate, I'm poised to complete the "Boy Genius" requirement -- Chapter 8 is ready to go. I'll post tomorrow. I also have a new drabbles88 in the wings -- just gotta figure out how to end and clean it up a bit.

Date: 2006-09-22 08:31 pm (UTC)-D: I feel bad for TAS!Doc. His son grows up to be fangirl bait.-
For a fangirl who apparently resembles TAS!Jennifer no less.
