It's a Bookend Weekend -- Day 1
Oct. 25th, 2006 11:31 pmWe meet our heroes -- Marty McFly directly as he blows up part of Doc's lab, and Doc Brown indirectly as he calls Marty and tells him to meet him at Twin Pines Mall at 1:15 A.M. Marty is, as usual, late for school -- he catches rides from passing cars, allowing us to see Hill Valley in its 1980s glory. Jennifer meets him at the front door, and they try unsuccessfully to sneak in. Strickland catches them and decides to play a game of "Let's Rile Up McFly." Marty utters the "foreshadowing" line of the movie, "Yeah, well, history is gonna change."
It isn't going to change just yet, though -- Marty doesn't get far in his "Battle of the Bands" audition. Disillusioned, he complains to Jennifer, wondering if he'll ever get anywhere in the music business. This, of course, makes him feel like his loser father. More foreshadowing in the form of a black pickup comes by, prompting Marty and Jennifer to try getting cozy. Fat chance -- a plot point interrupts to tell us that the Clock Tower has been stuck at 10:04 since November 1955. Then a convienent distraction pulls up to take Jennifer to her grandma's. Jennifer writes her number down on the flyer the plot point gave him.
Arriving back at home, Marty discovers that Main Antagonist Biff Tannen has wrecked the car and is terrorizing his father. Cue the discovery of Marty being the only cool kid in a family of geeks and losers. Lorraine recounts the story of how she and George met and their all-important first date. Pay attention, Marty, this'll be on the test later.
-M:. . . And the sarcasm is there why?-
Ael's been giving me "House" recaps.
-M: Oh.-
Yeah. This is my lame attempt at being funny. Anyway, not too much happening around here -- still working on the Sim Interview.
-VD: Completely neglecting fanfic in the process.-
I'm starting a new story this weekend -- I'm in a rather futurey mood, I think I'll go with "Time Mix-Up."
-DW: Before you ask, no new title bunnies for that.-
Drat.
-OD: Can you at least finish this drawing of Hatter!Doc? You're so close!-
I know! Stupid hat! I'll have to look around at other Hatters for inspiration. . . I really will try to have it finished by tonight.
-VD2: How about a little more on that Breakfast prompt?-
I know, I know, I'm bad.
-RPD: Well, not in my eyes.
revison_doc update?-
Yup -- the Parkers have caged pets, which make them slightly more interesting. Mortimer the parrot and Billy the womrat. They're cute. :) I also have an outtake pic -- Jane overwatered the flowers, so she decided to mop them up:

-J: *laugh*-
So, anyway, I'd best be off. Never enough time for me to do the stuff I want to do.
*Docs eye me*
Don't say a word, you lot.
-TD: At least Tarvek's on death's door in Girl Genius.-
Ah yes, rat bastard totally getting what he deserves.
