To You, To You
A Very Merry Unbirthday
For You, For You
-J: *giggle* Isn't it kind of wrong to serenade a UNIVERSAL character with a DISNEY song?-
Hey, now that they've closed the BTTF Ride, I'm a free agent. Really, nothing wrong with Disney, I just felt loyal to the studio that produced my favorite movie.
-J2: Well, we all know THAT'S over.-
Bleh. It's mostly directed at Bobby Gault, granted. *pokes him with a stick*
-D: *puzzled* Is the Unbirthday Song appropriate for an almost-birthday?-
Why not? I suppose it could be her birthday if we went a year earlier, but I haven't actually seen anyone use the October 29th date. And I don't use it, so it's an Unbirthday. Just a rather unusual one.
-AJ: Hey, any excuse for cake is a good one.-
Heh, well, we also have a real birthday for Verne.
-OD: *Verne chatters* She means the human Trilogy Verne.-
Hey, like we said, any excuse for cake. *Verne nodnods*
-OD: Though speaking of Hatters, shouldn't that picture be colored by this point?-
I had to add pockets so I'd know where to put the red, and I experimented for a moment with adding the bow tie from "We're All Mad Here," but it wouldn't fit. I'll start coloring as soon as I get done here. And speaking of that fic, it should be ready to post tomorrow.
-VD: At last. How about that Drabbles88?-
Yeah, that should be good too. I just want to give it another quick look-over. Then it's over to your fic and "Boy Genius."
-VD2: We can see how long your little vow lasted.-
*headdesk* I know, I know. I'd say stupid muse, but then
HEEEEYYYYY
-D: Oh no! Don't you dare blame us! We do our jobs!-
-TD: YOU'RE the one who ignores us!-
-RPD: Except for me, but I'm in charge of something you'd do anyway. *pokes me*-
Eeek, you're cold! And yeah, I know, I know. Let's say the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
-TD: Then stop staying up until -- If I finish that sentence, I'll be mocked severely, won't I?-
-VDM: Kind of inevitable, buddy.-
*chuckle* Yeah.
Anyway, I have some Sims updates -- two from
revison_doc, where we have fairly quiet days with both the Von Nostrand and FurKin families. I also took the liberty of setting up the college Sims for the Halloween party. Holly's hosting it this year. Still Wonderland-themed -- Lesse:
Holly: Queen of Hearts
Emmett: Mad Hatter
Julia: Alice
Marty: White Rabbit
Jennifer: Dormouse
Gypsy: March Hare
Emily and Verne will be invited too, most likely, but I'm not sure what to dress Emily up as. Poor Verne doesn't have a choice in the matter, sadly.
-E: I suppose I could be the Duchess. . . .-
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
-H: How come Julia is Alice?-
Because I've got the bloody Alice dress for teens already in the game. I can simply send her to The Fair Ground to pick it up. I'm also not sure what to do with John and Arazel, but I'm sure something will present itself.
-VD: Out of curiosity, how's your own Halloween costume?-
Pretty much finished, which is good. The wig's going to be a nightmare, though. Gonna have to lacquer my hair to my head so it'll stay on.
-TD: Yipes. Glad none of our costumes call for that.-
Yeah. And in regular news, I have an Eureka update -- spent some time this weekend building two more Downtown lots. First, ShopNSave, the Downtown grocery store:

Exterior -- I used some of the space-age stuff in this one, specifically the doors and windows. A plain-grey exterior hides the weirdness within, though a funky roof hints at it.

Interior -- I actually used the BATHROOMS to help plan the colors. The women's side is pink, the men's side is blue, and where they meet is green, due to me being something of an idiot -- PURPLE, you moron. Ah well, it looks okay. This was my first use of the Octogonal room tool, so the grocery is fairly small. Not that it matters much, since you can also get food at Peabody Farms. And really, it doesn't look that bad. Interesting layout, at any rate.
Then today, we had Future Fest, which has more of the Atomic style stuff with wallpaper and floor patterns.

Exterior -- two bunches of hot tubs, a nice, bright red brick building (again with a cool roof), and a fenced-in area for any wandering pets. I may lower that fence later, I was just trying to keep with the space theme.

Interior -- went with a blue/red/yellow color scheme, with liberal use of dancing glass and the like. We have a small stage with a single guitar for anyone who wants to rock out, arcade games, and a bar. Not a huge nightclub (and nothing like the actual Hill Valley Future Fest in my fan fiction), but it gives my Sims somewhere to go. This was again a result of me messing with octagonal rooms -- this particular club is the result of three being fused together:

Pretty cool, huh? It's slightly lopsided, but not enough to be noticable.
-RPD: *pleased* So that just leaves the canonical lots, correct?-
Yup. First, though, we have canonical people -- I'm gonna try and make Doc and Marty (and Marty's first guardian Arthurious) next time I visit.
-M: Arthurious? I think that guy will be GLAD to get killed.-
Heh, yeah, I know.
And some bonus pics:

Playing around with Tab camera mode, I get a nice shot of Academie Le Tour's two moons. Interesting, huh?

And here's Sigmund! Pretty silver cat with a whitish underbelly and golden eyes. Genius, Hyper, Friendly, Normal Agressive/Cowardly, Normal Pigpen/Finicky.
-D: *holds real Sigmund* A very good likeness, I must say.-
Yeah, thanks for bringing him on over so I could see what he looks like. *pets Sigmund's head*
And now, to try and get some actual work done. First up is getting that "Tea, Anyone" pic colored.
-VD: *to Doc* She's going to be all over you on Halloween.-
-D: *wince* I KNOW -- what is you find so attractive in Reginald?-
Oh, it's not Reginald I'm mad for. It's Richard.
-D: . . . Richard? I thought --
Reginald Leopold Theophilus III (generally just called Reginald or Reg) is Bri-Chan's Disneyland-based Mad Hatter. Richard -- full name Richard Luttwidge Dodgson -- is NuttyIsa's American McGee-based Mad Hatter.
-VD2: Suddenly, having Lathrop for a middle name almost looks normal.-
I KNOW. Anyway, pic.
