1955 -- Ka-BOOM! Doc gets to play with dynamite as they blow up the old Delgado mine to find the DeLorean. Doc reminisces about how he got into science as they explore, otherwise known as delivering exposition so we'll realize later why he loves Clara. He and Marty find the DeLorean, discover the problem, and make a "1955 vs 1985" joke. They grab a tow truck and get the DeLorean out of the mine as night falls. Copernicus, however, has made a rather disturbing discovery of his own. Marty and Doc are horrified to see that Doc has his own tombstone in the adjacent graveyard -- he was apparently shot in the back by Buford Tannen on September 7th, 1885, a week after he wrote the letter! As Doc55 says, "What kind of a future do you call that?!"
It's off to the library for the dynamic duo after this. They discover that Buford Tannen is basically an uglier, eviller version of Biff, and that Marty had relatives back there as well -- William McFly and his parents, Seamus and Maggie. Finally, they find a photo of Doc85 with the Clock Tower clock, confirming that it is indeed THAT Emmett Brown. Marty immediately vows to go back there and bring him home.
Well, I've broken through ONE writer's block -- hit some major inspiration with "Marty In Wonderland." Still unsure where exactly to put the Tweedles, though. . . .
-HD: Why? Aren't you basically following the plot of the Disney movie?-
It's more complicated than that. Yes, the basic outline would resemble the movie -- but I'm adding back scenes that were in the book, such as the Duchess and the Gryphon and Mock Turtle. And I'm planning on spicing it up with just a bit of American McGee in the shape of a Jabberwock, if I can fit it in.
-WRM: I'd rather you didn't -- I think my human Aliced self has enough to deal with.-
Oh, don't worry, he'd be able to defend himself quite handily. I wouldn't let him go near one without a Vorpal Blade.
-HD: I should hope not.-
-D: How about your other stories?-
Caught up with the written stuff -- got a page on "The Gift and the Curse," and I'm doing a bit more on "Time Mix-Up" now.
-OD: Progress, at any rate.-
-VD: Sort of.-
I know, I KNOW.
-TD: We know you know. But you never do anything about it!-
I wouldn't say never! Rarely.
-H: That's so much better.-
-DW: You need to get going again with "Absolute Power" as well.-
Yeah, true. I want to rewatch that bit with Biff's life story in Part II for inspiration. Maybe this weekend. . . .
-RPD: How about Sims? Did you start Eureka?-
I was going to, but then I thought it might be best to have a copy of the neighborhood ready with it fresh and raring to go. So after Strangetown, I burnt a back-up DVD.
-RPD: Ah. Can't argue with that logic.-
-HD: Well, you could, but it would be an excercise in futility.-
-RPD: And who wants to excercise that? Tomorrow, then?-
Shouldn't be a problem, as I'm playing Gypsy's exceedingly-boring parents. Though I do have to have them invite their daughters over to discuss/celebrate the engagement.
-D: Hopefully more of the latter!-
Hehe.
I visited La Fiesta Tech again, this time playing the Brown/Clayton family that's really supposed to be the McFly/Parker family. A lot of the play period was dedicated to them catching up on friends -- cell phones are very useful in Sims.

A streaker takes an interest in Marty as he talks -- creeeepy.

They've also become painting fools -- and, naturally, now that we have custom paintings, I had to have Marty paint my current Doc custom. Gotta add a few others to the pool.

I also discovered a neat little trick with the paintings -- I had Jennifer finish a painting that, by the price, was considered a masterpiece. Wondering if Marty, who always has a want to sell a masterpiece, would get the points if he was the one who sold it (despite not being the painter) -- I had her shower while he got back from class and sold it. Sure enough, he was boosted into platinum. Makes keeping him happy a heck of a lot easier! (He rewarded Jennifer for her help, don't worry.) Now if only Jennifer would stop obsessing over her teenage townie friends going to college. . . .

By and far, though, the big event of the day was Marty's attempt to get into Ookie Bookie House. The Weasleys were only too happy to come over and have Marty try his luck.

Marty started with Percy -- they got along reasonably well, though Marty was turned off every time Percy mentioned money.

It wasn't too hard to get into Fred's good graces -- a little congratulatory sucking up, and Marty was golden with that twin.

George was a little tougher. Thanks to a bad chat, his daily with Marty started out slightly negative! I tried a bunch of things to get it up -- even a group hangout --

But it was all for naught. Time ran out before Marty could get the required 15 Daily, and he was booed out. At least he didn't get a negative memory.

I suppose it didn't help that the cow there played a prank on Fred that actually made him CRY. WTF, Fred?

There was also an interesting moment of double trouble -- a dormie walked by who looked almost exactly like Jennifer from the back. The front revealed some major differences, though. Whew, I say. Would have been too weird if they really had been twins.

All the rest was really just random moments of Sim Life. I plan to have Marty propose soon -- Jennifer's going way into the green here.

Okay, I'd better get going on my stories.
-VD: Particularly mine. Just post it already if you have nothing else to edit.-
There's still something I'm ambivalent on. . . . Let me see what I can do with the clothing description first.
-M2: Oh, just toss it already and save yourself the headache.-
-VD: Please. Even I don't care what -- OOoooh no you don't.-
Awwwwww
