Further Issues
Dec. 25th, 2006 04:32 pmThe animal muses are back to their usual selves, but we ran into an interesting glitch with HatterDoc.
-TD: At least we know the flux capacitor-fueled cell deager works.-
-HD: *now a 35-year-old Doc, beaming* Isn't it great?-
-D: He refuses to have it reversed, you know.-
Does he have to have it reversed? Are there any side effects?
-VD: We've been observing him -- he seems fine, just a tad friskier.-
-MHG: Even I'm having trouble keeping up with him.-
-HD: There's nothing WRONG with being 65, I just prefer 35. Come on, the weirdest of us should be the youngest.-
Heh, can't argue with that. No luck with RPD, though?
-RPD: *floats in morosely* Nope. We've tried any number of settings, but nothing doing.-
-VD2: It's extremely frustrating.-
I can bet. Here, maybe your Christmas presents will help.
-OD: *tentacles chitter* No, I don't know what else she could get us. . . .-
-D: *opens his* How about new watches?-
Not just any watches -- calculator watches, walkie-talkie watches, TV watches -- I even got TeenDoc an pocketwatch that doubles as an iPod.
-TD: *grin* I like! Thanks.-
-RPD: Who got the other set of walkie-talkie watches?-
-HD: I did -- White Rabbit, come over here a moment!-
You've got BTTF and Ghostbuster-themed watches, RPD.
-RPD: *chuckle* Thanks.-
-VD: *doing an abortive pat on the shoulder* Don't worry, we'll figure out that machine sooner or later.-
-H: What did you get for Christmas?-
Lessee:
-->"Odie Unleashed," a Garfield book focusing on Odie
-->A $15 Border's Gift card
-->A Bat sign for my door (all from my aunt and uncle next door)
-->"The Annotated Alice" from Auntie Ann
-->More M&M chocolate lip gloss
-->A mulitpack of gum
-->A set of gel pens
-->Two pairs of new bed socks
-->A new sweatsuit
-->A tiny Mad Hatter pin for my hat
-->A Mad Tea Party T-shirt
-->A new BTTF: TAS video ("Clara's Folks" and "Brothers")
-->An "Alice In Wonderland" DVD -- the version with Christopher Lloyd as the White Knight (watched -- pretty good!)
-->A BTTF/Stargate crossover storylet from
martyfan
-->A BTTF Christmas story from
anonymoose_au
Not a bad haul. :)
-J: *frown* But where's your Girl Genius calendar?-
I suspect I'm getting that for my birthday. :D So I just have to wait a day for that. I also really hope I'm getting a Narbonic gerbil that day too -- I have the name picked out and everything!
-E: We'll keep our fingers crossed.-
Thanks. Anyway, I have one more present to give out -- a 200 word ficlet for
gigs_83. Glad to hear grandpa and uncle are doing better. :D
“So! Forty-three years and ten incarnations. I believe that deserves a toast.” OckDoc and the tentacles all held up their glasses. “To the good Doctor! May the TARDIS eventually look like something other than a police call box.”
The assembled Doctors rolled their eyes, but drank anyway. “Well, it may not have the ‘style’ of your DeLorean, but I think we beat you out on technology,” Ten added as OckDoc sat down.
“Well, I’m not a super-intelligent alien.”
Nine smirked. “Which is odd, since you have almost as many forms as us. Seven versions, was it?”
“Eight. Well, eight muses. If you go by stories, there’s twelve.”
“Twelve?!” Five repeated, startled.
“Yup,” VampDoc nodded. “Besides the eight muses, we have the X-Doc of the BTTF/X-Men crossovers, TrilogyDoc of Trilogy--”
“Poor guy’s the only normal one among us,” TeenDoc added.
“Humor/TASDoc of the Humor stories – it’s really the only place she uses anything of the TAS – and the NarbonicDoc from the persistent Narbonic plotbunny.”
The Doctors stared. “Um, how much free time does this girl have?”
“Not enough to actually FINISH any stories,” VampDoc2 muttered.
“Hey, at least she starts them,” Eight said.
Lisa glared. “I’m writing this, aren’t I? Muses sometimes. . . .”
-VD2: *rolls eyes* Well, I guess since it's Christmas, we can cut you a break on the story writing. . . .-
Don't worry, I plan to do more of "Marty In Wonderland" at any rate.
-HD: Excellent! Clean cup, clean cup, move down, move down!-
-RPD: You also owe me a Eureka update!-
I'll get to that directly. Merry Christmas, everyone!
