Happy Birthday, Moose!
Jan. 10th, 2007 11:21 amHere's a quick double drabble (200 words) I whipped up for you:
“George! Your new Star Trek magazine arrived!”
George practically flew into the kitchen, looking like an excited puppy. “Where is it? Where is it?”
“On the counter, sweetie,” Lorraine said, sorting through the other mail.
“Great!” George snatched it up and flipped through it. “Uh-huh, uh-huh, yes – AHA! There it is!”
Lorraine looked up. “What?”
“My story! They published my story, remember?”
“Oh, yes, we got that nice letter! Let me see. . . .”
George proudly handed the magazine to his wife. Lorraine smiled as she saw the familiar “written by George McFly” byline. “You know, after all the original short stories you’ve written, it’s odd that you’d get so excited by a piece of fan fiction,” she gently teased him.
“I know, but this is a story I’ve been waiting to write ever since I saw the first ‘Star Trek’ episode and the first Star Wars movie. It feels good to know that it’s worthy of publication.”
Lorraine nodded and kissed his cheek. “It’s very nice, George. I still can’t believe you managed to link Darth Vader and his family to the Vulcan race.”
George blushed, remembering a certain yellow-suited alien from 25 years ago. “Well, I had a little help. . . .”
Now, time for more "V.D." edits and "Marty In Wonderland."
