crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

-D: Computer behaving?-
Yup. No issues with Sims either. I think the IE 7 must have triggered something crazy. Even still, video card upgrade was just bumped up from a lower priority. I think I may switch back to ATI after this. My Radeon gave me some good times back on the VAIO. If only the computer hadn't slowed down so much. . . .
-VD: That's technology for you. No set of components can every work correctly in tandem. If something is fixed, something else senses the void and breaks.-
Heh, yeah, really. Anyway, all seems to be well right now. Keep your fingers crossed.
-RPD: *solid and drinking something* What did happen in Sims today?-

I dropped into Strangetown and played the McFly(really Brown)/Parker(really Clayton) lot in La Fiesta Tech. Those versions of Marty and Jennifer are doing pretty well -- they just became sophomores.
-M: Cool. I try again with the Greek House?-
Not yet -- next time I play.
I admit, though, the gang doesn't do much. A lot of their time is spent painting. Marty today finished his masterwork of "real Doc."

And proceeds to laugh hysterically at it once it's on the wall. o.O
-HD: *gazes at Martys suspiciously*

He's started a new one too -- a constant want of his is to sell a masterpiece, so I try to keep them painting regularly.

Jennifer, for her part, recently started a pic of the "real Marty." I plan for one of them to do the "real Marty and Jennifer" pic too, so they'll have a whole set.
-J: Cute.-

There's also plenty of time spent on cell phones, keeping up with friends. Marty called Blair and Ophelia, while Jennifer chatted up J.C. Jones.

-M2: No calling Doc?-
You'll be visiting home the next time I play the Browns.
-M2: Ah, ok then.-
Heh, yeah. And of course, there was schoolwork. You got your term papers done on time, which was good. I still love your typewriter, [livejournal.com profile] anonymoose_au -- it's great for poor college kids.

-TD: I like how they glow.-
That's just an aftereffect from the cheap computer -- it's based off of that.
-TD: But it makes sense for it to provide its own illumination! How could you see the keys otherwise?-
LoL, good point. Anyway, Jennifer also influenced Marty into doing an assignment for her.
-VuM: *jokingly* Gee, thanks a lot Jennifer.-
-AJ: I'm sure I had my reasons.-
Aspiration reasons -- it's hard to keep you even in the green, considering you obsess over all your teen friends going to college. I made her clean out the toilet to pay for it.
-J2: Oh, great.-

Aw, no worries. You and Marty still get along great. Red hands for the win, as they say.

Marty's also tried out meditation -- I really need to have my Sims do this more, it's easy, freezes their needs, and I don't have to wonder if they're doing something idiotic while I tend to other Sims.
-M: Plus it looks silly, and we know you love that.-
Of course. :p

And finally, after they got back from finals, I did a bit of redecorating. Specifically, new, nicer shower, and a good bed. I'm trying to make it a rule that all Sims get a good bed if they can afford it. Makes them a lot easier to handle.
-D: I would assume so, yes.-

-RPD: Not bad. Who's up tomorrow?-
Probably the twins in college for [livejournal.com profile] revison_doc. Then Emily on Saturday -- don't know who on Sunday. Hill Valley family might be Parkers.
-RPD: *nodnod, sips drink*-
What are you drinking, anyway?
-RPD: Hot chocolate -- it's really the only reason I'd become coporal in this weather.-
It's not that cold.
-VD2: It's cold enough.-
Friday's going to be below freezing with windchill.
-VD2: . . . It's not that cold.-
-TD: Perhaps I could --
-D: NO messing with the furnace! We don't want the slightest chance of it blowing up because of one of us.-
-TD: *pout*-
Cheer up -- I finished up both "Time Mix-Up" and "Eight Arms To Hold You" today at work, so that means "Boy Genius" gets a jolt with the written journal.
-TD: *perks up* Really? Excellent! And hopefully that'll get you back to editing Chapter 9.-
Yeah, one hopes. I really am going to finish that story.
-OD: We know, Vic -- you're not the type to abandon plotlines. Sketches, maybe. . . .-
I get the picture, I'll try something "Marty In Wonderland"-ish tonight.
-DW: So that's one story -- what's your other project? You're never satisfied with just one.-
Um -- er -- ah --
-HD: Has a snap-dragonfly lit on your uluva? Those things sting from the burning brandy.-
-MHG: Rocking-horseflies are much worse. The creaking is enough to drive you mad.-
-D: *suspicious* What is it? You only stammer when you're embarrassed.-
*softly* I was thinking of doing the Phoenix!Doc bunny.
-D: . . . Why are you embarrassed about that?-
Well, it's kind of -- superpowered, isn't it?
*stares*
-VD: *slowly* You have two vampires, one Spark -- two if and/or when you write the Narbonic/BTTF crossover -- one "Doc Ock" clone, one X-Man, one ghost, one Wonderlander, one -- let's call him a limited telepath --
I'm being stupid, aren't I?
-VD2: Just write the damn thing already, before the plotbunnies pull an OckDoc.-

Fanfiction
Do you read or write fanfiction?Yes to both.
When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?I wrote fanfiction stuff off and on every since junior high -- I started reading around 14 or so.
What was your first fandom?Believe it or not, the Marx Brothers movies. I LOVED Groucho, Chico, and Harpo.
First ship?My first story involved Harpo and some other girl from their last movie, "Love Happy" -- that count? Failing that, I guess Marty/Jennifer, since I didn't start writing Doc/Mysteria and the VDCs until after I'd done quite a bit of NonTrilogy.
What website do you use most?FanFiction.net, I admit it. I like having trivia pages for my longer stories, so it takes me a bit to update my own website, Back To The Vampire.
What do you think of Fanfiction.net?There's a lot of crap, but you do get good authors every now and again. The site itself is fairly ugly design-wise.
What fandoms have you written in?Back To The Future, Marx Bros, Girl Genius, Dracula (1931). I've also crossed BTTF with the X-Men and Spider-Man movieverses, as well as all sorts of incarnations of Alice In Wonderland.
Pairings?Marty/Jennifer, Doc/Clara, Doc/OC, Agatha/Gilgamesh
Any fandoms you would like to write in?Not really. If I have a fandom, I'll probably write a few never-seen scene snippets for it, at least. Or cross it over with BTTF.
Do reviews affect how you write in any way?Sometimes -- reviewers helped me come up with titles a couple of times. And I added a scene to a chapter on the advice of a reviewer once.
Do you use a beta?Yup, my pal Tracey for the longer stories, Ael and Moose (Monica) for the shorter stuff. My earliest stuff didn't have a beta, sadly, but I'm correcting that with Tracey's help.
What ratings do you read/write?I read everything from G to R. I generally write within the PG-13 range, though I've drifted up into R with some stories.
What warnings have you used on your fiction/read?Character Death, Extreme Angst. My R fics put my characters through the wringer.
Do you have any squicks?Incest Slash and Adult/Child pairings. I'll always be grateful to the devART Alice/Mad Hatter club for stating outright Alice HAD to be 18+.
Do you Role-play online? If so, what? Not currently, but I did play a rather moody version of Doc in the BTTFOnline RPG a few months ago. The character is hanging around as one of my muses.
Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?I did take someone's idea on a scene and use it in a fic (though I reversed the characters). I did apologize to said person, and she told me it was cool to use it. A lot of my early work was also based on my favorite fan author's works, but luckily I had enough sense to come up with my own plot ideas when I posted on the web!
Favorite fandom to write/read?Back To The Future all the way. But Girl Genius comes a close second, and I'm liking some Alice In Wonderland fics currently.
Favorite pairing?Marty/Jennifer, Doc/Clara, Agatha/Gilgamesh, Alice/Mad Hatter. (LEGAL Alice/Mad Hatter, thank you.)
Favorite writer/writers?BTTF: Kristen Sheley, Tekva, Tracey, Ael. Girl Genius: Greenbay, Honor McLeod. Alice In Wonderland: Bri-Chan and Rain
How long should a chapter be?I personally like chapters to be above three pages and below ten while writing (unless it's the epic "Boy Genius"). In reading, as long as they take up one full screen, I'm good. I hate mini-chapters that take five seconds to read.
Do you write/read drabbles?Yup. It's a challenge to try and make your ideas seem coherent in 100 words or so.
Any fandoms you avoid? Can't say I avoid any -- I generally just stick to the fandoms I like.
Pairings you avoid?Marty/George, Marty/Doc. I don't read much slash in general, but I avoid those like the plague.
Warnings you avoid?Incoherent ones. Also most slash warnings, especially related to the above.
Do the number of reviews tell how good a story is?As I've learned from reading sporking communites -- noooooo.
What do you think of Mary Sues?Write 'em, get them out of your system, see if any can be salvaged for regular originals, burn the rest.
Have you ever flamed someone?I probably have, but I can't remember any specific incidents off the top of my head.
Have you ever been flamed?Yup. "Ich Liebe Dich" got a pleasant roasting, let me tell you.
That's it, aren't you glad?Yay surveys?

And now to write and prep the writing journals and all that. And to get a snack, I'm hungry.
