crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (exhausted)

-D: What happened?-
Well, this morning I ended up finishing a fanfic I started reading yesterday instead of writing -- also had to leave early to go to the bank. Then, at work, I managed to get out a page and a half of each story, but part of me just felt completely out of it. Not to mention that I had a nice spate of customers come in TEN MINUTES BEFORE WE CLOSED. No huge orders, thank God, but God DAMN it, I hate that.
-VD: Well, we can't do much about the customers, and we always know you'll be distracted on this thing. But the "felt completely out of it" part--
You seriously think you can get me to go to bed earlier?
-VD2: Allow us our delusions, please.-
-DW: At least you got those pages done on "Boy Genius" and "From the Ashes Reborn."-
Yes, point. And I have ideas for drabble88s, so that's something in my favor.
-VD2: As long as you're writing something. And don't forget, there's the [livejournal.com profile] backtothefanfic challenge fic.-
Got that covered -- finished the first draft of "Roll of the Dice" yesterday. Give it another look-over tomorrow.
-VD2: Oh, good.-
-TD: Any response to "Pretend You Don't Hear?"-
Yeah, Snow commented fairly favorably. Though I had to tell her about her "Lucrenzia" -- driving me NUTS. I can be a bit anal about that sort of thing. I mean, she's turned out to be a major player in the comic! And people still call her "Lucretia?" SHE'S AGATHA'S MOM, FOR SPARK'S SAKE!
-TD: *shakehead* Some people. . . .-
-H: Well, misspelling a fictional character's name isn't the worst offense in the world.-
No, but it's darn annoying, especially coming from fans. It's like the BTTF fans who spell DeLorean "Delorian" or worse. And getting Emmett right seems fairly difficult. Heck, even on the Johnny Lightning thing, they called him "Emit."
-D: . . . My name is CLEARLY STATED in the CREDITS, IN THE PHONEBOOK in the first movie, and ON MY DAMN TOMBSTONE in the third! If you can't remember how to spell it, for the love of God, just call me Doc!-
-TD: No, you need more oomph. You need to threaten them with death rays or something.-
-D: No, I save the death rays for that incompetent who called my sons "Jewels" and "Vern."-
-TD: Oh, yes. There shall be a reckoning for that one.-
Save your reckoning -- I don't believe that particular fanit has written anything since the early 2000s.
-TD: Oh. Good.-
-RPD: Anything for me to report on?-

As is only fitting with my mood lately, it was off to the Wonderland/Tea Party family today! I'm getting very good at keeping them away from that tea set. It wasn't a particularly eventful Thursday, but there were some highlights:
-->Promotions! Dormy made Gas Station Attendant, Hatter made Lab Assistant, and March made Drive Through Clerk! Hatter and March also brought home friends -- Hatter Sheila, March Dominique. They didn't do much with their work pals, though. Sheila rejected Hatter's attempt at conversation, while March had to send Dominique off because of the late hour.

-->Red Hands galore. Everybody in this house is slowly but surely getting closer.

Though I was horrified to learn that Dormy and March had 0 Daily with each other! That little oversight was quickly rectified, don't worry.
-MHG: Me not care about Dormy? That's insane -- the bad kind.-
-DJ: *less sleepily than usual -- dormice are nocturnal* You do keep stuffing me in an oversized teapot.-
-MHG: That's out of love, Jen-Jen.-

(please ignore the angry orange bills -- the Wonderlanders aren't quite used to the real world)
Alice is also now friends with the Dormouse, so that's nice.

-->Plenty of skill and badge-learning. The Cheshire Cat built up his logic skill with plenty of chess, as did the White Rabbit. Rabbit also got nice and fit via the stereo.

And Hatter's still pounding out Sir Bricks A Lots. I need to have him finish teaching his trick to his pet one.

-->Plenty of kitty antics from Dinah. She and White Rabbit like each other pretty well. And even though he's easily the most proper of all the Wonderlanders, he still encourages her to be playful.

Alice and Dormouse both like to play Cat Teaser with her. Alice loves her, of course, but I suspect Dormouse wants to stay on Dinah's good side.

We must have a word with her about sleeping on the beds, though. Both March and Cheshire had to shoo her when she chose to nap on theirs.

-RPD: *chuckle* Well, they seem like they're doing all right for themselves.-
Yeah. I hope Hatter learns how to make stuff other than just pet bricks soon, though. I want jack-in-the-boxes and water wigglers and stuff.
-RPD: What about your missing [livejournal.com profile] eurekasims update?-
Maybe grab it on Thursday. Still don't know where the Smiths should go. . . . I suppose it doesn't matter, they pop up everywhere as "wanderers."

-HD: Your mind really does seem to be stuck in Wonderland, doesn't it?-
Yeah, I know. BTTF Wonderland most of all, of course. I've tried to come up with some definite facts about your world, but it's just all so twisty, it's hard to define.
-WRM: You can always ask us. We do live there.-
-M: Is the Queen of Hearts really a girl?-
-WRM: Yes. Do NOT ask me how I know.-
-Martys: *shudder*-
-HD: She's Queen Biffica of Hearts. Her grandson Griff is King and Heir Apparent.-
-VD: Do I want to know what happened to create that situation?-
-MHG: Well, Biffica's husband was eaten by the Jabberwock, wasn't he?-
-HD: Yup. And Biffica's son Jiff was exiled to Oz a while back, so--
-D: Oz?!-
-HD: Yes, we share a border with them. Well, we share a border NOW -- it's the east side of the Chess Kingdom. In fact, the whole reason the Chess Kingdom is part of Wonderland is because they needed our help to stave off an attack from the Wicked Witch of the East. Naturally, this is BEFORE Dorothy and her house. . . .-
-WRM: Anyway, Jiff was in exile and had built himself a nice life in Oz. He couldn't come back to Wonderland under the rules, but he could send a relative, so he sent Griff. Griff was only too happy to assume the mantle of King.-
-MHG: I don't see why, it's mainly a decorative role. The Queen is the one with the power.-
-WRM: I think he just likes being able to strut around and say he's a king.-
Interesting. . . . Let me get some paper and I'll write this all down.
-DW: Don't forget to do some typing, though.-
Right -- maybe I'll start on one of my drabble88 ideas.
