I Was Indeed Called In
Mar. 9th, 2007 10:47 pmHowever, it was actually for a shorter than usual shift -- 2 to 6 instead of my usual 1 to 6. Yay extra computer time.
-D: Still haven't beaten that Cave of Despair game though, I see.-
*grumble* Stupid Dr. Carter.
-VD: You'll get it eventually. Did you get anything done writing-wise?-
Two pages on "From the Ashes Reborn," a few edits to Chapter 5 of "Marty In Wonderland," a page written on "Boy Genius" as well as edits to Chapter 9, and a few edits to Chapter 6 of "V.D."
-VD: O.O-
I know!
-VD2: Ah, sweet productivity burst.-
And I have an idea that could function as both a drabbles88 fic and a response to the
backtothefanfic March challenge. Not entirely sure I should multitask like that, though. I kind of like to write actual oneshots and such for
backtothefanfic.
-DW: Yes, but a drabbles88 prompt is certainly better than nothing.-
True, true.
-RPD: I hope you followed up that nice productivity burst with a good day in Sims.
Oh yes:
Hill Valley Browns this time. I kept it the usual rotation for this neighborhood, since it's not unheard of for it to snow in Hill Valley.
-M: Still pretty rare though.-
*nodnod* Anyway, no snow today, as it was the last day of summer when I entered the lot. Did get a brief rainshower, though. :)

Jules and Einstein went out to play fetch as it wound down.

Einstein got a lot accomplished today, actually. He has been fully housebroken, and trained to eat only pet food and to be respectful of the furniture.

And after Doc got home from work, he taught Einy how to stay. Took Einstein a bit to get it, but he did in the end.

Einy still needs to work on getting along with other dogs, though. He seems to have a vendetta against Tiffany.

-DW: Territory rights, most likely. He considers the lot his pack's territory, and Tiffany's an interloper.-
Probably. Anyway, today was a good day for social stuff -- summertime's benefit, as I mentioned before, is enhanced social interactions with potential friends. Not only did that mean everyone in the family got a boost with Einstein (though that does puzzle me a bit -- pets are part of the family, shouldn't they get the winter family interactions bonus), it meant Martina easily scored a new friend. Sharla came home with her today, and after some chatting and pillow-fighting, they'd gotten quite close.

Sharla, though, takes top prize as the ugliest little girl I've ever seen. Gah!

-OD: Now, I'm sure she'd grow into those features if you aged her up.-
<.<
-OD: Maybe.-
Heh. Well, she seems nice enough, so it doesn't really matter if she looks a bit like a goblin.
*pause* Actually, she might look like the Garden Club lady, Tiffany. Doc greeted her when she stopped by -- they didn't get along, though.

Doc and Clara's day was mostly about skilling and badging -- Doc made a cleanbot and worked out, while Clara studied cleaning and made a toy robot.

Martina Jules, and Verne focused on having fun -- here Martina shows off a headstand.

Not that Doc didn't have time for fun.

-TD: . . . I'm slightly disturbed by all the fun he appears to be having with that toy.-
-D: Makes him look just a little senile.-
LOL, yeah. But hey, it's there to be played with.
Since not much else happened, let's end on my obligatory "family breakfast" shot (I seem to take one every time I play these Browns):

-RPD: No gardening? I'm surprised.-
They don't have a lot of cash. . . . They are going to get some plots, though. TAS!Clara had a vegetable garden, at any rate. And I want apple trees to help Martina, Jules, and Verne get their homework done even quicker.
And now, I'm thirsty. And I've been craving hot chocolate because of this cold snap.
-HD: Well, you'll have to make do. Your precious INSTANT isn't around anymore.-
Actually, the box of cocoa has a recipe for a single serving. It's in the microwave, but. . . .
-HD: *eyes widen* You're going to make real hot chocolate?-
If I can swing it.
-HD: *hugs me suddenly* Oh Frabujous day! Calloh! Callay!-
*laughing* It's just hot chocolate, I haven't killed a Jabberwock.
-M: *noticing an abscence at the tea table* Hey, where's March Hare George?-
-HD: Well, it's March.-
-M: I don't follow.-
-WRM: Oh. I guess you don't know why they're called March Hares.-
-M: . . . Does this have anything to do with those Kevin and Kell comics that said, "If you're a rabbit grandmother, you know to free this month up for babysitting?"-
-RPD: GAH! Not more George/Lorraine sex!-
Breathe, RPD! Um, if you can.
-M2: SO did not need to know that. . . .-
