One Little Thing. . . .
Jul. 18th, 2007 09:41 pmWell, it was a couple of little things, actually, but they did make me feel about five million times better. Today hasn't been exactly the best day for me -- I woke up before my alarm again (I keep waking up early because I'm cold for some reason), then in the shower, I was reaching for the soap, which we keep in a wall-mounted container, and managed to knick my finger on a razor that was in there as well. Cue me attempting to do the rest of my washing one-handed while my finger bleeds like a mofo. And of course, once I get out of the shower, I discover there are no regular-size bandaids. I improvise one out of a scrap of napkin and some tape. Mom later cut me a small one out of one of the bigger ones, but thanks to the antibacterial she used, it slipped off shortly after I came to work. Luckily my boss had some normal ones I could use. Speaking of work, I dressed in a no-sleeve T-shirt because I figured it would be hot -- just the opposite. On the day we don't need it on, he has the air conditioning going full blast. I'm freezing! Not to mention it's busy in the back, and whatever help I had before seems to have disappeared. . . .
However, once I got home, two things happened:
1. I saw today's Girl Genius page. Pictogram!Dupree coupled with Gil's facial expressions -- I was LOLing.
2. I went ahead and got my Super BTTF II rom.
-RPD: I thought I heard the theme song in midi format!-
-M: How was it?-
*smile* Fun. That's right, there is a BTTF game out there that is fun. *pause* Er, make that "officially licensed" BTTF game -- the fan mods and versions are always fun.
-M2: *gently needling* Must be weird, playing a BTTF game in which I'M the main character.-
Oh hush, Japanese! You is pretty cute. If a little annoying to take up a hill -- he has to keep jump-flipping. In fact, if any of you want to get the emulator and rom and try it out, that's your key to success -- jump-flipping.
-VD: *raises eyebrow* Jump-flipping?-
Well, he flips over when he jumps. Also, vending machines are your friends.
-M: *snort* Vending machines?-
Yup -- they sell health (or if you're full, extra lives), forcefields, all sorts of neat stuff.
-D: How far did you get?-
Into Biff's hotel in the Biffhorrific world. I died on a badly-aimed jump -- darn spikey balls. Of course, playing the game for real makes me want to do a sprite comic even more. Need Photoshop skillz first, though. My attempt in Paint didn't work out that well.
-OD: *tentacles chitter at each other* I don't think Photoshop's that expensive -- yes, but the trick is making her spend it.-
Technically, I could probably buy it off their website. I need more money in my checking account, though. I've been meaning to make more deposits, there's other stuff I want to buy.
-TD: Like the other volumes of Narbonic?-
I have to see the Phil Foglio Bonus story, after all. :D
-RPD: You did visit Emma, right? I saw you start up the game, but I know there's a chance you went to see the Carters instead.-
Nope, Emma -- though she didn't do much more interesting than learn how to make hamburgers and accidentally overwater her strawberries. Might be time for another outing soon.
-RPD: As long as I get my update.-
-HD: And we get ours.-
Edits are acoming. Be patient.
-H: We know -- it's just that we also know we're not likely to get any work out of you this weekend.-
Hehe, true. I really don't think I have anything to fear from anyone on my friendslist, after seeing the posts, but just in case -- spoil me on the book, and you get the business end of my American McGee's Alice croquet mallet.
-HD: Why on earth do you love that thing so?!-
Come on, you've never wanted to bludgeon someone?
-HD: . . . CLEAN CUP, CLEAN CUP, MOVE DOWN!-
*giggle*
