Beachin' It And Another Birthday!

crossover_chickHad supper at one of the local beaches today -- it's the first time I've been all year, I think. It was pretty nice, going for a quick swim and taking a walk. Though, naturally, I feel more tired now.
-TD: Ahh, the ocean. I was surprised at how warm the water was.-
Me too. Nice, though.
-TTV: *grin* And I didn't burn! This sunscreen is wonderful.-
-VD: Isn't it though?-
-RPD: Too bad the trip derailed Sims.-
*shrug* I thought we were leaving later. I'm finally in the later levels of Super BTTF II, though. It took me FOREVER to beat Match, Skinhead, and 3-D. The one popping champagne corks was the worst (I'm pretty sure it was Skinhead). He was on the bottom level, and there were a bunch of platforms there to help you get up, so whenever I tried to jump on him. . . .
-M: Frustration city?-
You said it. And the next 50s level is looking to be pretty much pure evil. Of course, that means I'll beat it when I least expect it.
-RPD: *grin* Naturally.-
And to make it worth your while to monitor it, RPD, I'll write up some game tips once I do beat it.
-RPD: Oh, good!-
-OD: What about the sprite comic idea?-
-DW: That one "Mario crossover" storyline does have staying power.-
Might experiment with paint later. And Kwitcher bellyaching, I'm working on "The Gift and the Curse." Sending off the next chapter to Tracey right now. Speaking of which, happy birthday Tracey!
-VD2: *raises glass* To thirty years of another supernatural-themed BTTF author.-
-HD: And another excuse for cake.-
Yeah, she was the first one I knew. I wrote a little ficlet for her featuring a villain from her "Haunted Time" fics -- name comes from the second version, though he could be from either one:
TeenDoc grinned as he entered the room. “Hello Gabe!”
“It’s GABRIEL.”
“I thought you’d prefer Gabe. Gabriel is the name of an angel, after all, and since you play for the opposite team--”
“I will NOT be called ‘GABE.’”
“Suit yourself,” TeenDoc shrugged. “Anyway, I hope you had a good night.”
Gabriel just grumbled. “I take it you didn’t. I’ve had nights like that. Those are the nights I wake up in the lab with some horrendously-complicated contraption in front of me.” TeenDoc pulled on a pair of gloves. “Your Doc and Marty are upstairs having breakfast with the rest of us – it was nice of them to come and visit. It’s funny – Tracey beta-reads for Vicky all the time, yet none of us had ever formally met.”
“Hmph.”
“They’re very nice, you know. Doc and Marty – the NonTrilogy muses – have taken to them the best. Probably because of the similar effects the supernatural have played on their lives. And RolePlayDoc--” TeenDoc grinned again. “You weren’t calling him mon ami for long, were you?”
“He got in a lucky shot!”
“I’m sure he did.” TeenDoc clapped his hands together. “Well, ready to get going?”
“One question.”
“Shoot.”
“WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO LET ME OUT OF THIS BLASTED VACUUM CLEANER?!”
TeenDoc’s grin turned evil. “Oooh, not for a while yet. My ghost traps still need some fine-tuning. RolePlayDoc’s proven they’re too easy to escape.”
“I’ll have my revenge, you know!”
“Your author is too busy with work to write, so I somehow doubt it. Now, let’s see. . . .”
-TD: *snigger*-
-RPD: What did I do, punch him in the face once he started going on?-
Basically. Then turned solid just to confuse him, which is when HatterDoc got the drop on him with the vacuum.
-VDM: Why a vacuum cleaner, though?-
"Casper" -- in the movie, the father traps Casper's three uncles in a vacuum, and Kat uses a handheld version to ward off ghosts the morning after.
-HD: *sips iced tea* Simple and elegant.-
-WRM: Wouldn't that result in a possessed vacuum, though?-
Depends on if Gabe is allergic to dust. *evil grin*
-D: The similar effects -- whatever you've got set up for us is bound to be interesting.-
-H: Well, yeah, I'm involved.-
It's horrendously complicated too. I really gotta write more NonTrilogy just so I can rewrite "Defintion of a Friend" again and make it cohesive.

I'm skivving off the last week of August. Mom's obsessed with thinking up activities for me to do -- really, all I want is to sleep in!
