Don't Scare Me Like That, Sims 2

crossover_chickReasons I'm a bit peeved with my Sims 2 game:
1. My first attempt at playing was with Emmett Von Braun and his family. Got off to a great start, but then I went to build a greenhouse. After building something decent, I remember I have to place the trees first, so I overclick the back button (basically clicked it too rapidly), and the thing crashed. Bleh.
2. After that, I decided to play both Emma and Emmett in Eureka, and do the Von Brauns tomorrow. I visit Emma, expecting the Moneywell to have turned back into a typewriter -- nope! The typewriter does show up in the catalogue, so I switch them. I also lost a thinking cap because of my custom aspirational hatstands -- since I had custom content disabled yesterday. . . . Well, she graduated Summa Cum Laude and has mouthwatering apples, that has to count for something.
3. Emmett has no custom content issues, and happily builds a sentrybot and my first kite! However, my plans for him to go out and buy some watches are slightly derailed when I click on the phone -- and see no transportation option. Baffled, I click on him -- no new "Walk To" option.
I panic a bit -- Emma had those, what's wrong with him, do I have to take out my freshly-downloaded updated hacks -- then a thought occurs to me. Emmett's within 5 hours of having his final. Can he not leave the lot during that time?
I let him have his final (A+ for him too) and try again. Yup, options are back. Whew. He heads down to the new general store and picks up watches for each wrist. (For some reason, his "buying stuff" body double has this weird-looking face -- he's fine though). Annoyingly, his current clothing mesh covers the watches. Bleh.

Looks like it, unless I can find a short-sleeve among my Victorian stuff.
4. I'm really peeved at Squinge for disappearing -- some of his hacks I kind of need. Specifically, his shop-no-save, to let my playables wander into stores but not spend tons of money! Less Romantic Greet and Goodbye would be nice too.
Well, anyway, I have the Sim journal to update, and some fic to work on. I suppose it's good I can stay up a little later.
