The only time we ever see the future in the Back To The Future series. A wonderland of flying cars, ultra-colorful clothes, robotic TV-screen waiters, and holograhpic movies. And fax machines. And the same old jackasses as back in the other eras -- seriously, how do the Tannens keep breeding?
-M: We would ALL love to know the answer to that question.-
Anyway, Marty is conscripted by Doc to save his son, which he does -- narrowly, but it happens. Unfortunately, Jennifer had to be taken along too, and she ends up scoping out her future life with Marty and seeing that it kinda sucks. While rescuing her, the boys inadvertantly leave the time machine open to being stolen by Biff. Which leads to the plot!
-TTV: I'm a little surprised he wandered off leaving the door open.-
-VuM: Trilogy says he was just really distracted -- he's pretty embarrassed about it.-
Heh, poor kid.
Sims problems persist, making an update for Doc's birthday seem unlikely. I'm gonna keep fiddling with the drivers and see if I can force them to install.
-RPD: That's odd that it never seems to "take."-
-TD: You have to let me build you a new computer, Victoria. It would be so much easier.-
Half-tempted to take you up on the offer, sweetie. Dad also mentioned bringing the computer in -- I suppose I should have a video card that the game supports. Though that doesn't help me if the problem is Bon Voyage itself. *grumblemutter* Remind me to search for tips on how to remove SecuROM, it might help.
Aaaanyway, on a less-angry note, here's that drabbles88 I said I was gonna do:
88. Transformation
“Hello, Dr. Brown! I didn’t expect to see you back here so soon! How’s the new DeLorean working out?”
“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about. I have a complaint.”
“What? Come on, that was one of the best cars on the lot! Like new condition, low mileage, the works!”
“Oh, it had the works all right.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Take a look outside.”
“. . .Is that--”
“Yes.”
“And you’re saying your DeLorean--”
“Precisely.”
“Well, uh – I don’t think that’s covered under warranty. In fact, I know that’s not covered under warranty. I can’t really help you.”
“What?!”
“Yeah, sorry, that’s the way things go. All sales are final, stuff like that. I mean, you can still drive it, correct? It works fine?”
“It – it--”
“If it performs correctly, I can’t give you a refund.”
“My car transformed into a giant alien robot!!”
“I still can’t give you a refund.”
-HD: I'd like a car that transformed into a giant alien robot. Be perfect for getting through traffic.-
:p This is an idea
martyfan and I batted around back this summer when the movie first came out. My interest petered out before I could write it the first time, but seeing the movie the other day brought it back. I had to use the last Writer's Choice prompt because none of the others seemed to fit.
-VD: You think I would coerce the robot into helping my case a little.-
I DID have an ending like that, but I thought it was funnier to end it there. :p
Anyway, gonna look over my other stories now, then see what I can do about this video card situation. (We're making progress -- the game didnt' automatically crash today. It just did that blue screen thing it used to do when I was first struggling with the game.)
-DW: And while you're at it, stop reading about Silent Hill.-
Oh, I'm on a new --
-D: "Clock Tower" isn't much better!-
This is true. :p Come on, it's Halloween. Get into the horror mood.
-VD2: Two of us are vampires -- what more can we do?-
-OD: I'm tempted to polish up the kids MORE just to defy you. *tentacles cheer*-
Well, to be fair, they could use one. . . .
