crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
A rather quiet day in canon. Doc and Marty discover Marty's accidentally taken a rather big eraser to his life by meeting his parents. Today is probably when they pick up Marty's 50s outfit and start formulating plans on how to correct the timeline. I have a story for today: A Clothes Encounter, about said trip to get clothing.

So, how was the trip?
-D: Oh, wonderful! We went and saw a few favorites on the big screen -- an adaptation of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," "Spider-Man 2" again, and of course "The Mask."-
-TTV: *beam beam beam*-
-VD: Had a little trouble getting my and VampDoc2's required "snacks" into the theater at our second stop, though.-
Ooo. Nothing major, I hope.
-VD2: We had to apply a little suggestion.-
-TD: *grin* They really just Jedi-mindtricked him. "We can have these bottles in the theater." "You can have those bottles in the theater."-
*giggle* I'm assuming you hit the Inkwell too at some point.
-DW: Yes -- the girls made us do some karoke.-
-MF: Oh come on, you're not that bad a singer.-
-DW: Still, singing in front of the usual crowd at the Inkwell? If you perform poorly, who knows what you might get thrown at you.-
-MF: Heh, I guess.-
Ahh, come on, you're all friends there. Mostly.
-OD: *tentacles chitter* That wouldn't stop most of the people we're friendly with. If you haven't noticed, you tend toward -- *tentacles buzz* Oh, no, I'm not walking into that one!-
O.o?
-HD: All in all, a most enjoyable evening.-
Well, glad you had fun. :)
-RPD: Try anything with the computer?-
No. I'm really not sure what else to do. I don't want to do anything potentially drastic without making backups, and after last night's freezing incident. . . . *eyes her machine* I don't like not being able to trust it.
-M: What exactly happened?-
I haven't a clue. I was making my backup disc, and just .1 GB to finishing up, it suddenly stopped writing. The program just didn't go anymore. The countdown clock ticked down, yeah, but after that, it just sorta hung on "burning disc, please wait." I tried canceling it out, but then it hung on "canceling project." I couldn't close it out, and I couldn't get it to eject the disc. Dad finally got the program close via the task manager, but then the entire computer froze up when I tried to get my DVD out. Had to restart via the powerstrip. *sigh* One year old, and already. . . .
-VD2: Didn't your father just buy a USB drive? Perhaps you should try one of those.-
I'm thinking about it, yeah. Course, what I'm really thinking about is taking a baseball bat to this stupid thing and starting over. Too bad I can't do that if I can't back up my files.
-RPD: *pats shoulder* It'll be all right.-
Damn, I sure hope so.
Well, fanfic news, then I'm off. Got 2 1/2 pages done on "Corpse Mask," currently working on trying to break 10,000 on "When Worlds Collide -- Really Collide." Jack just stole TrilDoc's DeLorean, so we're starting the great chase.
-D: That whole sequence in the garage seemed inspired by [livejournal.com profile] smudge_pot's "Uncle Joey" fic. Deliberate or subconscious?-
Subconscious, mostly, though I realized it too. It just seemed appropriate, ya know?
-HD: Are our esteemed readers going to be privy to the fic?-
Heh, I'll share bits and pieces to be sure. The whole fic might be a little while, as there's the potential for a NonTrilogy spoiler because of the timeframe.
-M: *annoyed* Will you just rewrite "Definition of a Friend" already?-
I'm trying to go in order with NonTrilogy now! I can't help it if it's slow!

Heh, I've lost count of how many times I've been subconsciously influenced by other fanfics.
