crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (In a sarcastic mood)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
I haven't started writing yet today, but that's not the problem. Ael and I were talking earlier, and she brought up an interesting point -- how is Jack going to get past the superMartys?
Well, I think I know how he's going to handle most of them, but there's one that's proving to be a problem, and another who could potentially be one. I'll give you the breakdown:

Trilogy: Marty's human. Jack is able to kidnap him with very few problems and a handy knife.
VDCs: Marty's a Partial, meaning he's bloodbound to Doc, has super-strength, and better healing. He's actually taken down by Sandra Rayben (who's a vampire hunter who's also a Partial -- she's got past issues), then she teams up with Jack.
X-Duology: Marty's a mutant with the power to stop time. Jack picks up the X-Duology Amina Ali, and they get hot for each other. All together now, ewww.
Night and Day: Marty's a full vampire, bloodbound to Doc and with superstrength, superhealing, and flight. Jack picks up Biff Tannen here, who, like his VDC counterpart, is working on controlling soulless vampires.

Humor: Marty, though living in an animated universe, is pretty much human -- he just takes damage well. Jack and the gang should be able to get him pretty easily.
OckDocumentary: Marty is human. He has a cool wing harness that allows him to fly, granted, but he doesn't wear that all the time, so. . . . Jack picks up Stanley Carlyle here (the evil young intern from "Eight Arms To Hold You").
"Boy Genius": Despite ressurection, Marty's human. Jack and his gang should be able to get him.
"A Note of Madness": Despite being a Mad Scientist, Marty is again human. Jack should be able to capture him, though the Sparky rant Marty's sure to go on might make him really confused.
"Midsummer Found": Marty's a Changeling -- a Fairest Muse. This basically means he can do some magic. This might put him at an advantage -- if Jack didn't pick up ANDREW here. Marty will fight hard here, but Andrew's abilities will mean he's taken.
NonTrilogy: Marty's human. Jack will get him.
BTTF!Wonderland: Marty's the White Rabbit. Jack and company should be able to force him to lead them to Heart Palace.

The bolded part is my problem. Clockstopper's power is just TOO GOOD! If you can freeze time, you really can't be caught! and VampMarty's sure to put up one hell of a fight himself -- at least with VultureMarty, I can make sure he can't fly! I'm hoping Biff knowing about vampires will make it easier to grab him. Clockstopper, though. . .I don't want to cut out the X-Duology, so I need a way to grab him and keep him grabbed until Andrew "I'm practically godlike even in the human world" Sparks can keep them all put. I have some ideas myself:
-->Jack escaped from Hell, maybe he has some Infernal powers?
-->Jack has a piece of the Grim Reaper's cloak. The Hell I'm using (from the webcomic JACK, ironically) has the Reaper be able to manipulate that cloak to forcibly take souls who try to run. Maybe Jack can use that?
-->Amina from X-Duology is a mutant in her own right. What power, though, could possibly counteract time-stopping?
Help appreciated, if you can think of anything. I gotta get working on the VDC scenario. At least I know I can do that one.

What about Marty 2 in the Night and Day Universe? Is he going to be involved, too?

Tangentially. To help me keep things relatively sane, only "main" Martys are being kidnapped. Marty-2 in Night and Day and the FetchMarty from "Midsummer Found" are gonna be "near-misses." Luckily for them, Jack only thinks there's one Marty in each universe. He's mostly right, but still. . . .

Paintballs filled with liquid nitrogen?

What? It worked in Clockstoppers. Though that wasn't stopping time. That was speeding up molecules so everything else looked stopped/real slow.

Or somehow knocking out his trigger? Like, if he uses his eyes, blind him with a flashbulb or something?

LOL, well, he actually STOPS time, not speeds up his own molecules.

And he doesn't really have a trigger -- he just wills it to happen. Mind you, he does get queasy if he uses it for long enough or too many times in succession. I don't know if that would come up in the story, though.
