My piece of fuckshit computer threw another one at me. I was typing away on "When Worlds Collide -- REALLY Collide," and I went and altered a sentence a little ways up in the document. Just a quick rephrase/addition. Once I'm done there, I scroll down.
WordPerfect locks up.
And, of course, I haven't saved.
Eventually, the program tells me it has become "unstable" and has to shut down. I can't save my work or anything. I go ahead and shut the program down, wondering WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK happened. I mean, I make edits to places earlier in the document all the time! What the hell gives?!
I've gotten it open again, and thanks to a timed backup feature, I lost only a sentence or two from the end, but still! I've e-mailed myself the manuscript (from my hotmail to my cox) so I have a backup somewhere. Typed since then, but it's something.

I just -- it PISSES ME OFF, you know? This thing's just over a year old, and it sucks monkey balls. Everyone, don't buy HP computers. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have gotten a newer Sony VAIO and spent money upgrading the video card to the most kick-ass thing money could buy. Wouldn't let the salesman talk me out of it, either. I am such a wishy-washy --

Anyway, wordcount:

I think I'm going to go watch some "Fun With Shorts" and see if the funny helps.
-D: You do that.-
-TD: You really should let at least ChangelingDoc look at the computer.-
*shakehead* With my luck, his "roll" would be a line of dramatic failures, and I'd be left with a smoking husk. If the computer is going to die, I want it to be because of ME and a baseball bat.
-HD: Not your mallet?-
This thing is not worthy of my mallet.

I have virus and spyware scanning stuff that runs weekly (SpySweeper is lovely). I have a Windows firewall, and I try to keep on top of checking for defrags, yeah.

I know, I shouldn't have been so quick to label all HP as shit (we had a nice Compaq back in the day -- Windows 3.1, can you believe it?), I was just frustrated as hell. Seems like sometimes, I have nothing but problems with this thing.
